Yep. Former regulator here. Property records are public information so itʻs pretty easy to research whatʻs permitted vs. whatʻs actually happening on someone's land. If I were a neighbor, Iʻd also check on that fence extension - it may need a permit. FYI, in Jefferson County, FL, as in most other jurisdictions, code or zoning enforcement is complaint-driven.

There are noise ordinances that apply to residential properties all over Jefferson County Florida, even in the unincorporated areas. See Chapter 14 Section 2 of the Jefferson County Code, and the table 2 noise levels. Amplified music (and yes, car speakers are amplifiers) without an event permit  is discussed.

I do find the flood myths fascinating given how widespread they are. It makes sense that the Eastern Mediterranean myths are very similar, but looking at how they've varied from each other is really interesting.
