Why tonight's 20/20 reminds me of the Duggars

I know I may be stretching it but tonight's 20/20 reminds me of the Duggars. It is about what people would do to keep up a lie. We know the Duggars are not like these people represented, but lets face it they have been less than truthful. If you watch do you agree?

All I think is all these people were caught up in lies... how long until the Duggars

I set my DVR to record the show awhile ago. It stars in about half and hour in my area. I might watch it live. The Duggars have been caught into lies, but those lies haven't been exposed to the mainstream public. They could be exposed years from now, if one of the kids or maybe a TLC crew member exposes them.

Most of the stories on this episode were full of what the fuck are these assholes thinking. One of the stories was just sad though.

oh she was horrible!

I couldn't believe her shit about "well what bride wouldn't be happy on their wedding day?". Umm, what about one that got their groom to marry them and their wedding paid for all by pretending to be dying from cancer???? :angry-cussingblack:

The bride? OMG could you believe that bitch? :o

Yeah the bride, and she seemed soooo broken up over her lies. NOT! :?

The one that lied about being his own mom was just creepy. They showed 2 too many pictures of him sitting in front of her casket. *shivers*

Eta~ He looked just like her!

If I learned one thing like that country singer people will find out the web of lies. It takes one leak from someone to make the Duggars lies more public then they are. Honestly, I never believed the Duggars never got handouts from the Govenment. But that is just me

Of course the Duggars lie and of course they'll do anything to perpetuate those lies. Based on their declining viewership though, people are starting to catch on.

I just got finished watching the show. I thought the guy who dressed up like his dead mom was creepy. I remember hearing about the "Jerry Joseph" case last year.

So, do I watch it?

We have no cable, so it is that, or library dvd roulette. I am going to trust the Jingers.

Do you have access to over the air channels? Hulu might have the episode up tomorrow.

We are going to watch it in 30 minutes. I checked in with the headship, and we agreed.

your headship sounds very kind. mine wouldn't give me the night off from cooking, cleaning, and working on creating new "blessings" to fill our dresser drawers/IKEA shelving with.

LOL, I thought of the Duggars when I saw Dateline advertising something about a woman's death due to spray tanning.

The Duggars travel around the country lying about how they're parenting their kids when they're not, and they have a TV show where they lie and say their daughters can do anything they want and that this one wants to be a nurse and that one a firefighter and that one over there wants to become a teacher, yet they're all under daddy's control still. They've put a sparkly book cover on their lies and blind a lot of people.

But, unlike the people on 20/20, I think they've convinced themselves that they have the life portrayed on TV.

Yea, I agree that she's a bitch for what she did, considering how my grandpa, godmother, and great aunt died of cancer. Having cancer is definitely not something to lie about.

I didn't watch the show, just the "cancer bride" clip on the website. This just makes me want to throw up; she hardly seems to regret any of it all, even though the story states that the lie had been "eating her up inside." She mostly seems to just regret that her community turned on her for her deceit. And all the free crap that they got... whether or not she had to pay it back, it just makes me sick. When my husband went through chemo 3 years ago, it was hell. We couldn't afford to lose my income, too, so I worked flex hours, and would sit with him in the hospital either in the morning or the evening, while working for 9 or 10 hours in the other part of the day. He was exhausted from chemo; I was exhausted from doing two full-time jobs, and we never asked for a dime, and still owe the hospital money, even though we had very good insurance coverage. He is completely well now, and for that I thank the universe (as well as some of the best doctors and nurses in the world), and one of the best moments in our lives was the day that he rang the bell in the huge waiting area of the chemo ward, signifying that his chemo was done, and everyone in that big room clapped. For anyone to make a mockery of that is just disgusting (and even more offensive to the many people whose cancers are terminal, and to those who have lost their loved ones).

Right you are, ShadowyOne...I'm currently battling Stage IV breast cancer (metastasized in my neck) and was at my hospital earlier Friday begging my doctor to do something about the pain my tumor was causing in the wee hours of Friday morning. My doctor wrote me a prescrip for Percocet, but my pain managed to subside enough to brave it with my usual pain meds. My tumor has still been growing despite a grueling series of radiation treatments last year. I'm to start another round of chemo next Thursday and add to that more chemo in a few months once my doctor gets approval for a new "cocktail".

I watched the clip on video, and was so completely disgusted I wanted to scream, "Do YOU want MY tumors?" I'd give anything to hand them over to her, so she can be close to them like Sigourney Weaver's Ripley was close to her "Alien" spawns.

I saw that about the lying bride, and it was horrible. I think she must be a sociopath or a psychopath, and I can't believe her husband took her back. Also, I feel sorry for their children.

Koolmom, I'm so sorry you're going through that. :(

Ohh jeeze, GrandBerry6 just came to me, snuggled his face in my neck and barfed, all over me. In my neck, in my hair, on my face, down inside my nightie all over the front of my nightie. Ohh FUCK! Bath, washed hair, cleaned sofa. Good times, good times.

After a few months of trying to decide what kind of new computer to get and my brother telling me a Mac would be the best decision I could ever make and my sister telling me that would be the worst and I ought to stick to Windows.... I now have a used Mac. I am trying to get used to it. Not easy, but the Magnifying program is a lot better than the Windows one (that was the ultimate reason for my decision) and FJ works a lot better than on my 10-year old Laptop, too!!

Y'all, holter monitors suck. And naturally the palpitations that caused this test to be ordered are remarkably absent today.
I'm off to go work out in the hopes that triggers it. T minus 10 hours till I get this thing off.

I frigging hate the toilets at this worksite. Specifically the door locks. Stupid little knoblet that isn't clear if it is locked or not. Door opens right off the main hallway and the toilet is just far enough from the door that I can't just hold the door shut in case I've got the lock wrong. I mean really people, how hard is it to design this? I just want to pee in private with no anxiety. Apparently that is too much to ask for.

First thing I'm doing when I get to the hereafter is finding the ancestors who moved to the US in the first place and asking them what the fuck they were thinking moving here in the first place.  Along with giving them an epic the reason you suck speech hopefully in the presence of God and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself to all of them for condemning their descendants to living in a shithole.
