I have been trying to remember in what episode Jim Bob talks about it being ok to take medications/ drugs. Does anyone know?

I thought this would be a great thread for those with questions like mine. I would love to be able to help others with questions like this.

What else happened in the episode? Usually I remember scenes very well but that's not ringing a bell. Was it maybe the episode where Jana & Jill got their wisdom teeth pulled, or when Johannah busted her lip?

I can't recall. It had to have been an accident one I suppose :)

Jim Bob said somthing how he doesn't do drugs unless prescription and sometimes for a headache

Anybody remember the episode where Jessa & Jinger did the ragtime duet? I thought it was one of the Bates episodes but I looked on youtube and didn't see it in the eps.

No it was on Piano. I think it was at the end of the episode, but I don't remember which episode it is.

No those aren't it, but thank you! I think it was at the end of one of the 17 kids episodes, so I'm going to have to go through them and look for it.

Yeah, there's ragtime there, but there was ANOTHER clip of the girls at the piano that actually showed up on that viral MySpace (thankfully, I didn't get any messages or viruses) when they're playing out an episode with Joplin as someone (maybe even themselves) is leaving. I think it's the Duggars themselves and that clip at the piano (just Jinger and Jessa with a frontal closeup) was edited in later to contextualize the music to the bus rolling out of Dodge.

TBH, I'd never noticed those small clips of the girls playing ragtime before, unless Erin Bates is on the piano; she likely taught the Duggars anything they know about ragtime (and probably have no clue that Joplin was black, especially given the Bateses' views on that subject...their parents adopted the sister, not them).

eta: click forward a couple of frames and you get the clip of Grandpa Duggar saying he doesn't want them to have anymore and how they make Famy's ears bleed or somesuch.

I'd go back to that MySpace, but who the hell is using it (has to be either a crew or family member given the inside nature of the pix), because on the episode in question it clearly showed Jessa and Jinger doing the duet.

I think this particular clip has Erin Bates' fingerprints (and clown dress) all over it, with a Duggar daughter assisting, but playing the "easier" part.

eta to watch the entire ending. Not the one I am thinking of.

I've never seen the episode where Anna gives birth on the toilet. I stopped watching the show after a couple of seasons because they are so boring; I just like reading about the good bits. However, I've always wanted to see the infamous toilet birth because it boggles my mind.

Are there any other particular scenes that you think are Must See ?

I feel bad for her, I heard she really wanted the camera crews gone and needed to poo but nobody would leave her alone so she had to hide in the toilet? That's so awful.

I just found a youtube clip of the first birth. Josh sounded really annoying and patronising. Also I love how they go on about the modesty thing but are happy to show her legs being held up and pushing. I couldn't find the toilet birth on there - was it filmed? Apparently it is much searched for as youtube autocompleted it!

hahaha the quotes!

Anna: fun day of family, food and fellowship

Josh: GOOD FOOD.

*Mackenzie, about 1, climbs over a chair*

Relative: Mackenzie is growing up, she's really turning into a beautiful young lady!

The birth...that's not modest at all, what they showed! At first I thought Josh was actually being helpful but then I realised not. Poor Anna. All that stuff about needing to "go potty"? Who would want that on the air? And the way she said "thank you Jesus". Jesus didn't do that Anna, you did that all by yourself!

 ...And Josh adding "good food!"

What episode did they show the Bates horses and then later it was edited?

I think that's a fundie must-do, I recall J'ichelle doing the after she pushed out Johannah or Jennifer. My reaction was just like Luckystone's, although I also felt JB should've been thanking J'ichelle.

Even better, IMO, was the way she kept saying "Oh, dear God" during her labor. It certainly did NOT sound like any kind of praise to me.
