Smockityfrocks autism

Did anyone spot this when it happened?: http://confutata.com/2010/03/27/in-whic ... -and-eyes/

Reading through comments, she kept digging herself deeper. First "That's interesting, but I'm still right about all the stuff I said :)", then "her "disability"..." (yeah, NICE. I'm going to feel absolutely free to assume those sarcastic quotey marks weren't there to suggest the disability might not be there, but to suggest that it isn't really a disability), and finally a fauxpology to settle everyone down.

Wow. SmockityFrock is a bitch. And that is the most half-assed apology I've read in a long time. She seriously didn't apologize for anything she said. It is like an Anne of Green Gables apology.

I couldn't find anything on it at the old forum (that doesn't mean it's not there :)) about this.

Some more links:

What she replaced the original blog post with:

It has come to my attention that my motives are being slandered because of what I meant to be a humorous look at life around me. I do not speak for any group of Christians, homeschoolers, stay at home moms, or anyone else, nor am I interested in defending myself to strangers who believe they can judge my character from one post.

Nope, didn't see that before. Very telling responses in her comments. She seems very opinionated and headstrong and unwilling to back down in a disagreement, even in her apology post.

She is friends with the Lockwoods, who I kind of sort of liked when they came to FJ.

I'm not breaking the link because I hope she reads this thread and knows that I think she acted extremely childish with her "apology".

I like the Lockwoods too. I hope Smockity is nicer than she seems online..........

I think that post and the way she reacted to people disagreeing with her probably showed her true self, which is ugly.

SmocketyFrock sounds like a polite swear word. Sometimes I say frickety-frack, but now I'm thinking of using smockity-frock in regular conversation. It's my new minced oath.

Not sure where to begin with this one.... I think this is a great example of what can happen when you shield yourself and your kids from the outside world and are never exposed to anything different. She needs to open up her worldview. While there are lots of bratty kids with bad parents out there, there are also lots of different kids with different needs out there.

My son is not Autistic but 'on the spectrum', and about twice a year he has a global meltdown. While thankfully its never happened while we were in public, while melting down he screams bloody murder and slaps himself across the face. Since about the age of 4 I've had to carefully document this behavior with his psychiatrist, pediatrition, the school nurse, and other school officials in fear that someone would think it was I who was doing this to him. It scares me to death that if someone like this smokety bitch saw him having a meltdown she'd either call CPS or smear me all over the internet. What a narrow minded bitch!

To me, it's not really about her ignorance but about her attitude when others brought up their concerns about what she was saying. Complete unwillingness to back down or acknowledge their concerns as possibly legitimate.

This woman was too cowardly to say something when she felt the grandma was manipulating her, but instead went on her blog and mocked a little girl. What a passive-aggressive bitch.

Maybe I'm just a complete and utter bitch myself, but I just can't see the big deal here.

It's not the ignorance that bothers me, it's the fact that when people try to tell her something, she's not at all open to hearing them. She already knows everything and is right on everything, so why bother listening? It's simply not possible that anyone else could have some contribution to make.

The whole thing is an exercise in cold passive aggression. Just can't stand it.

Planning on scheduling my ankle surgery around Trump's Georgia trial - if I'm forced to be off my feet, I might as well be entertained.

      Stupid loneliness!
Kid 1 went back to college (yeah! But sad foe me, she stayed with me all summer. It was nice to start a new phase in our mother/daughter relationship)
Zero prospects on dates. (Not that I have tried online dating, scared of that but I have reached put to a new group at church, etc.
I asked a friend to go to dinner the other night so I wasn't eating alone, again. The friend had plans, all my friends always have plans. I see stuff on social media, I'm never invited. I'm single, I'm the 3rd or 5th wheel.
My one parent friend at kid 2's fall sport won't be there because their daughter made varsity (Yeah for her!!! Seriously happy for her. Sad for me for another sport I basically sit alone, did that majority of spring and summer sporting events.)
And now I'm crying as my mom told me 2 different funny stores that former teachers remembered about my twin. Both stories were about how they got a crack out of my twin's antics (my parents went to a funeral today and saw former colleagues). Teachers remember me (after all I was a twin and teachers' kid) but none would have memorable stories of me.
      I feel invisible.
Don't worry, this will pass,  it always does. I just need a pity party for a few days. I'm not in anyway going to harm myself. As lonely as I am, I have a very full life I (usually) love. I just needed to vent and cry for a moment.
If you are still reading this, thanks Fjer. 😊

Absolutely awful about the fires on Maui. In 2019, I stayed in Lahaina. I liked to sit on the sea wall, which is the only structure left now, and watch the water. People are receiving help, but many had to leave pets. Please donate to the Maui Humane Society, which is leading efforts to find, treat, and reunite pets.

Nebraska’s new football coach, who is involved in an organization called Man Up Ministries, labels certain players “Alphas” and sometimes “extreme Alphas” and the local paper has a nice piece on why people objecting to the term “alpha male” are wrong and it has a “nice ring”. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
