Duggarautomotive.com ... where Jesus would buy his car!

I was wandering around the highly impressive (not) duggarautomotive.com and randomly clicked on some cars.

I just have to note the cheesy scroll on the main page that reads "may god bless you as you seek to follow him today." I'm surprised theres not a giant inflatable jesus welcoming people onto the lot.

1st up, 2006 Acura TL 78000 miles. No notes in the comment section besides "Super nice car! Call us today!" I didnt pay for a carfax, but there are 7 hits on the VIN. Sure, that could mean 7 owners but... we know he buys his cars at auction.

Only one pic of the car, no interior shots, priced at $17950 per the site... but the pic on the car says... $17423 and you can clearly see campaign signs in the back of the shot.

KBB.com:

$18509 if its in perfect condition suggested dealer retail

$13659 - $16209 for private party.

A search for this car near Springdale came up with a bunch, but the closest to this one was priced at $13995 with 95287 miles

You really save a lot going to HONEST smugly!

Next up, a 2001 Ford F150 with 174000 miles on it. The notes say "Super value! This truck is 4x4 and crewcab! With Lariat package, leather, cd and all the bells & whistles!(campershell not included, in photo)Call or text me, RD Chatman at 479-586-5284! Thanks for Looking & God Bless You!"

What, youre too fucking lazy to take a picture that accurately reflects what you're selling? And you cant take more than one?

Anyway, I assumed it had all the "bells and whistles" and it priced at...

$8840 for excellent condition - suggested retail for a dealer

$5990 - $7290 for a private party.

10 hits on the VIN... eta - smugs priced it at $8995

The cars on his site are really shit. These were the two most expensive and his stuff doesnt seem to be listing on kbb.com.

I'll also note that the "financing" calculator is right there on the car's listing. It assumes 12% interest and only $500 down. Nothing like putting your beliefs about debt into action there!

Oh, and I've solved the deep mystery of the phone numbers!

The "smugly" phone number is the one thats on the "real" sign. RD (who does all the actual work) is the number below.

I don't think I'd pay 8k for a car with 174k miles on it. He also has truck from 97 with almost 250k miles on it priced at almost 7k. I paid 5k for my Escape with 202,000 miles on it a couple of years ago (it was bought at a ford dealership too!). No way would I pay more than that for a car with that many miles.

I would never buy a car from the Duggars.

I like how you guys think! I mean, on the klassy checklist theres:

1 - Neon signs

2 - Shit written on windows

3 - Artwork from walmart

4 - Inflatable objects

He's only missing number 4 and he's KLASSY!

On the exceptionally off chance I bought a car that old it would most definitely be certified pre owned with a warranty. Theres no way in hell I'd buy one from smugs that I know he bought from an auction and no after sale care.

12% interest. The bible only charges 10%!

Exactly. Mien came from a reputable source and we know it only had one previous owner. I have had ZERO issues with it except for the usual maintenance that is required of cars.

I can't see smugs knowing anything about a car enough to know if it has hidden issues or whatever.

I bought my 91, 100K Camry wagon 'with all the bells and whistles' for 1K from my pal who is the original owner. I have the entire service record file, all work was performed at the dealership where I've previously purchased vehicles. Lard Lad is dreaming.

When I first went on the website after seeing this thread, I actually jumped back from my laptop screen a little due to the HUGE Duggar Automotive logo and migraine-inducing colour scheme on the home page. Plus, someone seemed to get abit trigger happy with the exclamation key when typing up the blurbs for each car on there too. So professional! Amazing website!

That's what I first noticed too. The headachy colours and overuse of exclamation points is really distracting. Maybe that's to distract people from the bad prices and little value. They need to teach some proper web design and writing skills at the SOTDRT!

This is written about a 2001 Hyundai Accent.

This little car has a lot of cosmetic damage...but it runs and drives good! Either someone lived close to the driving range where I tee off or a hailstorm direct hit?!? This would make a great little car for someone needing good gas-mileage point-a-to-point-b kinda deal. Call 479-586-5284, RD Chatman, selles to first $3450 cash!***REDUCED TO SELL $2995 CASH OR TRADE, ALSO ELIGIBLE FOR OUR IN-HOUSE & BANK FINANCING*** (W.A.C.)

Financing available??? Are they promoting taking on debt? How very ungodly of them.

Who are his customers? Do people not do any research when buying cars and just get the first one they see, or do they buy from the Duggars because they're famous?

His Instagram leg-humpers are seriously wanting to buy cars from all over the country. That goes to show you just how educated these folks really are.

I figure that's why he changed the name to "Duggar Automotive". Because some people will buy shit just for the name on the sign.
