So I noticed another guy in Josh's Instagram pics, then happened to spot him again. I think he is a brother of Jonathan and Jennifer Hartono, and his name is Jason. hmm maybe the Duggars have a special jaffinity for their Jamily. Anyway, he seems to be a real fan of one of these pick up artists that apparently has his own show called "How I met your mother"

Posted a few pics like this one http://twitpic.com/show/iphone/3hnzyi plus one of him watching the show on his iphone, shortly before staying with the Duggars, and an "f" bomb right after a picture of Jordyn. oh my... Wonder if Jim Bob knows or will? The picking up chicks tricks can't go over well with being around JBobs daughters.

...Digger?...

May I suggest that mods move this thread? I think it belongs in Snark.

I'm confused. It's just a picture of the DVD I think.

What is Digger?

OK, I should have included some corroboration, here:

His actual twitter http://twitter.com/#!/Jaso_hartono

A promo description of one of the books he is praising:

"It is then, and only then, that we might work together as one to accomplish perhaps the most important challenge society faces-getting laid. Before late: without the sport inherent in trying to bang chicks, would men willingly have sex for the sole purpose of producing smelly, screaming babies?"

from http://www.thebrocode.co.uk/

And I agree about being under "Snark", for some reason I do not have the option of posting new topics in Snark. Mods, please move if you so deem.

I'm confused. You can't possibly think that Neil Patrick Harris is actually a pick up artist? He's a happily married gay man with twin babies. "How I Met Your Mother" isn't exactly NPH's show, either. It's an ensemble sitcom, in which he plays a misogynistic dudebro, (Barney Stinson) which is hilarious because uh, that's not him in real life.

If you're serious you're very wrong and if you're trying to make a joke it's not funny.

**ETA: "The Bro Code" is a parody/send up of dudebro culture. It's not meant to be taken seriously, it's satire.

I combed the twitter... apparently he uploaded a picture of a young duggar? I don't think that means he knows them. Why is this relevant?

...Digger?...

Haha, that was my first thought, too!

Well if that is the case, then this is sort of like Poe's Law, but with misogyny instead of fundamentalism. I haven't had a TV in over 3 years, never seen that guy or his show. I honestly took that sh*t at face value had no good reason to question since there are people on TV like that (last I was aware). Oopsie daisy.

Nonetheless, based on unrelated posts, he is still quite mainstream and comfortable with that language, to be within the compound.

RE: relevance: He is being followed by Jonathan Hartono and (I believe) is in Josh Duggars instagrame pictures and as of present apparently with the family again.

I assure you that is, in fact, the case. Five minutes on google will verify everything I said, it's not like there's any kind of uncertainty about it.

Because this thread is currently kind of crappy, I give you Neil Patrick Harris hosting the Tony Awards.

Because, everybody on TV is exactly like the roles they play, right?

Ok his name is familiar, and I can associate it with other things that I have read and seen. The Video is golden, and I LIKE HIM :).

You'll have to take my word that I really don't keep up with pop culture, and I wouldn't recognize that face if he knocked on my door. The Stimson character, call me whatever for not being in the pop-culture-know, but I thought that was for-real.

Oh goodie, adding hounds/attack dogs to the list of Free Jinger animal metaphors. It goes nicely with "den of vipers" and "nest of wasps."

Ooh! Nest of wasps reminds me of cake. This post needs cake! Off to google for pix...

He was cast before he came out. Which made his role ironic.

NPH is such a good sport, and he always pics fun roles.

My dad loves How I Met Your Mother and was gobsmacked when I told him that NPH was gay, married and had adopted children. He all but said, "But, but, but, his character is such a lecher!" I told him that was the mark of a good actor, that you can go into a role without it being about you.

I don't have cable, I rarely watch TV, and I don't make much of an effort to keep up with pop culture.

So when I suddenly have a reason to post about those things--people, TV shows, and other entertainment I've barely heard of and know little or nothing about? I google them. That way, I have a reasonably good idea what I'm talking about and don't end up looking like a complete ignoramus. And when I do get called out for making a mistake out of ignorance? I accept that I screwed up and don't keep arguing in favor of my own ignorance. And hey, guess what? That strategy works far better than getting defensive with the regulars and telling them to "lay off." Especially when I'm a brand-new member on a forum that (as you'd know if you were paying any goddamned attention at all) has zero patience for clueless n00bs.

Lay off maybe? Did I do something other than be ignorant a celebrity face? my bad for that. Did you read my post with an open mind, or only looking for your next angle of attack? Like I said, it was a case of Poe's law only with Misogyny.

Edit: Also, if you had read my post you would know I was not under the impression that he wasn't 'playing' a role. So your rhetoric is null.

Translation: Whaaa!

3 years off TV is no excuse, you have to be pretty dense to realize think that every actor is the same person on screen and off, and that every unpleasant role played by an actor is some sort of social commentary.

David and Neil didn't adopt the twins, they're each the bio parents of a twin. But otherwise, I agree. Between NPH and Matt Bomer, it's been a good few years to be a gay parent and be working on TV.

WHAT? You mean NPH WASN'T a teenage prodigy/practicing medical doctor!?!? BLASPHEMY.

Then again, I haven't watched TV since the 80's, so my believing in Doogie was legit.

Not to mention that HIMYM has been on air for seven seasons now and NPH has been out for six years. None of this is exactly a secret.

I'm confused. Did Joshua Duggar have a photo of NPH on his instagram?

I usually have no idea when it comes to pop-culture references from the 80's-mid-90's, so when I see something referenced that I don't know a lot about I use this magic thing called the internet to learn more about it.
