FASHION DESIGNERS ARE TEH GAY

This influence comes from a small neucleus of people called high fashion designers. There are only a few powerful enough to set the pace for all of us, but they are diabolically clever. It is in their work that new styles are born and when they appear the world rushes to follow them. A large portion of them are homosexuals. The products of their creative minds do us no good. A homosexual does not intend to flatter us his method is to ridicule women.

PANTS ARE DESIGNED TO EXPOSE YOUR CROTCH

Now, to consider slacks, think for a moment about the only area of a pair of slacks that is carefully fitted. Isn't that the part of a woman's body she should not expose to scrutiny? The comfortable knitted fabrics we all' love are also revealing because they exaggerate our bulges, bumps and body lines.

Another point to ponder regarding women's pants is a natural law of vision. An artist is aware of the power of lines that can be used to attract the eye to a certain area. With intersecting or converging lines attract the eye and emphasize that area and it becomes the point of attention.

And there's much, much more. The illustrations are especially great.

So I can blame the gheys for making wear clothes that expose my muffin tops, biscuit bottom and my back boobs? And here I was blaming me for having those problems. It was all the gheys.

I don't wear clothes that show of my muffin top, biscuit bottom or back boobs. My idea of shorts are capris do to not wanting to show off my biscuit bottom. Still would be nice to get rid of the fat but I'm not not going to blame any of it on anything of myself and the stupid illness and meds. :snooty:

Ah -- the Anatole of Paris theory dies hard:

[shoe designers have done a remarkable job of changing the natural shape of a woman's foot. They have used the torture method of pointed toes, toothpick heels, later came the clubby heels, boots and sandals that are nothing more than a strap or two attached to a sole./quote]

Shall i point out that sandals aren't particularly new? I've got a book about the Masada excavation that has a photo of "sandals that are nothing more than a strap or two attached to a sole" from 2,000 years ago.

Women past middle age should be aware that many times in the aging process a woman will lose her feminine appearance. Her features may coarsen and look quite masculine. Her voice deepens, then if she has her hair cut short and wears pants, it may be difficult to remember she is a lady.

Well, I've seen seniors who get senile, but never in the form of forgetting if they are male or female. Does this person think that the lady bits magically disappear at menopause?

One good rule to follow is to keep your silhouette unmistakably feminine, so that at a distance no one would mistake you for a boy or man. Men find women more interesting when we look different, than when we resemble second ? rate imitations of themselves.

Wait, didn't it just say that pants make men stare at our crotch? How do these two statements go together? Also - why do you want men to find you "interesting" if you are trying to avoid giving them any sexual thought?

After reading and looking at some of the illustrations, there are some small grains of truth to what I'm seeing here. Maybe it's just me, but I've seen (and I probably fall somewhere in this category myself) many older women dress kind of sloppily, but didn't make much of it unless they looked on the verge of revealing too much skin, etc. What I've noticed is that both men AND women's fashion sense seems to have gone downhill; an example is what some people wear when appearing in court on news channels. Sometimes I'll look at someone and wonder, "Remember when people seemed to dress up when they had to appear in public for some important event? Nowadays, you don't see that anymore".

Even though I probably resemble the drawing of the woman in profile with the baggy sweater, I try and not wear too clingy tops over my pants. My poochy tummy makes it difficult for any pants I wear to reveal too much of my crotch area, so that's never a problem. Because of my illness, I tend to not wear a bra, but try to wear a thin blouse or top so to look a bit more composed. Drat, I USED to have a deep voice, but thanks to rampant radiation treatments, I now sound like Mickey Mouse! I don't think for one second in my lifetime anyone could discern that I was the opposite sex, even though I was a tomboyish teen, flat-chested and wore no make-up.

When I had hair, it was abundant, even when it was less than shoulder length. I ditched my long hair back in the late-70's and never looked back.

As I said, she makes several good points about general fashions and styles, but most of them for the wrong reasons. Give it up, lady!

So, her second quote is

Proverbs 31:22 tells us "she maketh herself coverings of tapestry, her clothing is silk and purple." We see this ideal woman is certainly not shabby but well dressed. Tapestry is beautiful and if this means embroidery, it also indicates she adorned her clothes to make them attractive. We know that purple was a dye reserved for royalty or for those prosperous enough to pay for the expensive color. This lady did not hesitate to make her clothing attractive!!

Ten lines later we get

1 Timothy 2:9 says, "In like manner also that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety, not with braided hair or qold or pearls or costly array." We are not to call attention to ourselves with costly garments.

The fact that she then makes this passage about

Shamefacedness means shyness; sobriety means sedate. If we have trouble translating this into clothes, let's think for a minute what the opposite meaning of these words would be. The antonym of shy is bold; the antonym of sedate would be improper. We can picture a woman dressed boldly or improperly, so the meaning of this verse becomes clear.
doesn't change the inherent contradiction in saying that the ideal woman dresses in costly garments but that we mustn't.

And then we have

It wasn't long before women began appearing in the supermarkets wearing hair-curlers, sweat shirts, and jeans. Shortly before this era, no woman would dare be seen outside the walls of her own home is such casual dress.

It's true that women wouldn't wear jeans a century ago, but there are plenty of instances of people outside in curlers. Rather more so than in later years, in fact (probably because of perms and hotirons).

We are often identified by the way we dress. The Queen of England has her wardrobe carefully designed before she makes her public appearances. Her clothes are beautiful and appropiate for each occasion. Her countrymen want her to be the best possible representative of themselves and the country. We should remember that we, as Christians, are representing Christ. We should honor Him in our appearance as daughters of the King of Kings.

I'm willing to bet that the Queen of England wouldn't be caught dead in a frumper. :flags-wavegreatbritain:

*sits down, clutching pearls* At different times today I greatly fear I looked JUST like figure 5 and 6.

This morning (at work) I looked like figure 6. I had my hair in a bun (so it looked short) I was wearing a jacket, white shirt and pants (with the ebil lycra woven in the material of the pants) and low heeled pumps. Later, as the day progressed my hair did become awfully messy - as the guide would say "gypsy like". Still later I came home and changed into my outfit of choice - yoga pants and a t shirt -aka figure 5!

What to do? Is it off to the prayer closet for me or should I do some hard core submitting to the headship to make up for my wicked ways?

Now wait, didn't GOD create those lines? He created the Y at the crotch and the V at the breasts, not fashion designers.

Haha it's so funny that Mrs. Jorgensen who wrote the fashion guide, used Queen of England as an example. How many people can afford a carefully designed wardrobe? Maybe Mrs. Jorgensen should use a more "realistic" example to follow.

now I'm confused! I cut off all of my hair so people would see my countenance and not be as distracted by my big boobies (cuz I don't want to make anyone stumble), but I guess that my short hair, jeans, and fitted t's are making people confuse me for a boy (any boy with boobs like this needs to see a Dr ASAP!). I will stay up tonight and make a tent suitable for me to be seen in public in!

I do have to admit that the Queen of England look is available on a budget - my late grandmother was mildly obsessed with All Things English and bore an uncanny resemblance to the Queen. She seriously had a closet full of blue suits and dresses, along with hats and white gloves, and was constantly inviting people over for tea. She was also extremely thifty, and wouldn't have paid much for her clothes.

This is the same grandmother, btw, who was widowed at 41 and who had to get herself together to support the family. She was very much a "lady", but she outlived 2 husbands and would also be the first to say that women need to be self-sufficient. She also enjoyed defrauding the men in the retirement village when she was 80 and single, and managed to get herself quite the collection of boyfriends.

...What kind of old women is this fundy hanging out with? Because I used to volunteer in a nursing home, so I hung out with a LOT of old women, and I never saw any that fit this criteria. My 80 year old grandmother is the epitome of class, and there is nothing masculine about her. WTF?

I love reading about fundies and their interpretation of fashion like this mainly because I work in the ebil fashion industry. I'll rock my "gypsy" hair and miniskirts all I want. Hell, I even wear them with men's military boots.

I bet all the fundies would go crazy if they saw Marc Jacobs in his Met Gala outfit. In fact, I bet if I post an image here we'll have a whole crop of blogs pop up with posts about the end of times since Marc Jacobs clearly is ushering in the end of the world.

Sorry for not being savvy enough to post an image in here but I will link to the image I'm talking about.

Hey, I have an idea! What if I just don't decide my clothing based on how interesting men will find me?

Sounds like bananacat needs some serious blanket training and tomato staking. That is some VERY bold and forward thinking you are doing there, bananacat!!

I guess my issue with all of this is the hypocrisy - men need to be respected and honored and made to feel strong but in reality they are weak and stupid and we can control them with the length of our hems.

Yeah, no. My fiance is a strong, capable, brilliant man. I make an effort to make sure he knows that, and knows how amazing he is and how much I love and appreciate him.

But I do it by actions. By supporting him. By loving him. By helping him. Not by making sure I have on a skirt and a sycophantic slave stare 24/7.

I just don't get how they reconcile the two.

One of my high school English teachers dressed just like the Queen, so I definitely agree it can be done on a budget. (Minus the hats and gloves though I wouldn't put either past her for a very formal occasion.)

LOL today I am wearing skinny jeans, shame on me. Too bad nobody I encountered seemed to care...
