Homeschool dad in SS sex scandal

"I tell him, 'Baby, my cash money.'"

The federal agent who single-handedly sparked "the biggest scandal in Secret Service history" by being stingy with a Colombian escort was outed yesterday by CNN as 41-year-old Arthur Huntington, a father of two from Severna Park, Maryland, a suburb about an hour from Washington, D.C. His refusal to pay 24-year-old Dania Suarez's $800 or so fee — reportedly, he was only willing to cough up $30 — is what led to a confrontation with police and several other prostitutes in the Cartagena hotel and, eventually, to our nation's current obsession with the after-hours activities of the Secret Service. So far, at least nine agents have been culled as a result, including Huntington, although it remains unclear if he was sacked or resigned.

What else do we know about Arthur Huntington? Well, obviously, his wife runs a neighborhood Bible study and their two kids are home-schooled. A woman who knows the family told CNN: "I know him and his character. I would question the allegations."

*snort*

I can absolutely see many of the husbands of our fundie mommy bloggers doing this. The hypocrisy, monumental chutzpah, and cheapness absolutely ring true..

From the family's church website:

"Noah lived in a very sinful age. In fact, his family members were the only people who loved God. Somehow, in such an ungodly society, he was able to "Get His Family On Board"! We too live in a sinful society. It may not be as bad as the world Noah lived in, but it is still pretty bad, and seems to be getting worse in many ways. I'm afraid that too many Christians think it's too hard to have a godly family in the 21st century. Although the challenges are great, I'm happy to say that it can be done!!!

Throughout 2012, many of our messages will deal with having a Christian home. The first Sunday morning of each month, we will look at a different aspect of Noah's life that helped him "Get His Family On Board"

Why don't you come and be encouraged!"

Hahahaa, delicious Christian irony.

Douche grew up going to Christian schools, of course, and wifey is staying with him.

It's totally not fair on his wife and kids.

I'm sure they and their "church family" are of the ilk who approved of spending thousands of my tax dollars dragging the Clintons dirty laundry into the glare of the public eye. This makes it hard to feel as sorry for them as I otherwise might.

Forgot to include the link to the article I quoted.

I wish I could say I was surprised, but this is so often the case that it borders on the norm. Now he'll get fired or disciplined, then he and his family and IFB buddies will get to feel all persecuted and stuff. I'd say nail him to a cross, but he'd love that.

I feel sorry for his kids. They've been taught that a Christian is supposed to act in a certain way, it must be very difficult to realize that your parent not only cheated on your mom, and embarrased the White House but is a hyprocrite also.

It is ironic that we wouldn't know about this mess if he hadn't been a cheapskate.

Great, now in true IFB fashion I'm sure the community will somehow blame this on his wife. She probably let herself go and did not have a heart for her marriage.

On another note, I don't think religious fundamentalist authoritarian types are more likely to stray or patronize sex workers than any other group, but it does seem more likely that they would haggle about the price and refuse to pay after words. This guy's behavior gives new meaning to "buy used and save the difference"

FWIW, I have an in-law who has been a hotel manager in a major North American chain over the last 25 years. S/he says that the in-room TV porn viewing routinely goes up whenever they host Christian groups or conventions at the hotels - maybe they're just checking on what the bad guys are up to?!

Guess I should update again? Frieda (Kiki, we renamed her) is here since the end of February 2021. She came with a bunch of problems, but is the best dog ever and is doing better every day. But we do now know how a dog with ptsd looks like. For real, not joking. If she is triggered during the day, she wakes up screaming at night. Not like dogs dream, but literally screaming. Other than that she went with us on countless trips, loves hiking and even cable cars. She is one heck of a fearless dog in situations who do not remind her of her old life.
My Grandpa passed away last May and I'm still grieving a lot. After sharing a house with my grandparents for over 30 years it is just horrible to lose one of them. Even though it was his decision and he got to go like he wanted. At home, in his bed during the night without doctors. He would have need more care and he did not want more care. So after turning 90 he decided to let go and became weaker and weaker.
In other news my dad stops working for good on April 1st. Retirement time. Keep my Mum and myself in your prayers. We really do not want him at home all the time. Haha!

I don't always make good decisions for myself due to severe depression but I did today actively decide not to do something that might have been detrimental for me and am very proud of myself.

Well, this is weird. At some point, recently, I broke my wrist. I had to get a Dexa-scan today (put it off for years) and along with some bone loss, damn I had it a few minutes ago… the results said, “Fracture risk is moderate, and the patient has a significant wrist fracture. Treatment is advised.”  my left wrist aches a little but not near as much as my back, feet, knees or fingers, damn RA. I have no idea how it happened. I haven’t fallen in 2 years, haven’t banged or bumped…  the dr will call tomorrow and we’ll get  this straightened out.
