I seriously wish this were a joke! New legislation will allow men to fuck their dead wives up to 6 hours after they die. Even in death theres no respect for women!

They are also lowering the marriage age to 14 and striking the government mandate that women be educated.

Great steps forward here!

Well apparently women have that same right. Women can have sex with their dead husbands too. I guess she just has to wait for him to get stiff ..... *rimshot*

A lot of commenters on a variety of articles (not just the DM) are claiming this is not true. I hope it's not.

How would one go about this? Your wife dies in a car accident etc and you march into the hospital and ask for "alone time?" The whole thing just seems nasty!

This is just sick and the ones who want to have alone time with a dead person? Sick freaks. Sick, sick, sick. Call me out on this but have sex with a dead person/animal is not the same thing as a fetish or nose sex or anything else you throw out there. :snooty:

How greedy can these guys get? Multiple wives isn't enough, now it's 4 wives and a corpse?

Please tell me this is a sick joke? 14 is way to young to get married (even though some U.S. states allow it with parental consent), and having sex with you dead wife is just..well...ewwww and downright creepy! :puke-front:

Sensationalist BS being proffered by a Hosni whore to make the current government look bad (not that they need any help, the military isn't doing a great job, but this isn't one of the things they should be made to look bad for).

There's of course one problem: The chances of any such piece of legislation being considered by the Egyptian parliament for a vote is zero. And the chance of it ever passing is less than that. In fact, color me highly skeptical that anyone is even trying to advance a piece of legislation like this through Egypt's parliament. I'm willing to be proven wrong. It's possible that there's one or two lawmakers completely out of step with the rest of parliament. Maybe.

But extreme, not to mention inflammatory claims, need at minimum some evidence (and I've read my share of utter nonsense in Al Ahram over the years). The evidence right now? Zero.

...

Stories like this are already a reminder of the downside of the Internet. It makes fact-checking and monitoring easier. But the proliferation of aggregation sites, newsy blog sites, and the general erosion of editorial standards (and on-the-ground reporters to do the heavy lifting) also spreads silliness faster than it ever could before.

Four weddings and a funeral!

Whew! I thought it didn't sound right, but I saw that a number of news outlets (other than the Daily Mail rag) had reported on it, so I wasn't sure. I had never heard anything about Islam condoning or encouraging such a thing.

Yeah seriously, I try and check multiple sources and they were all saying the same thing... glad it cant pass but still fucked up that someone would even think of it!

I hate these winds. They are absolutely HOWLING here in SoCal. Not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight because I'm so afraid we'll get sudden evacuation orders the way we did with the Woolsey fire in 2018. There's no way of knowing when and where a fire might crop up and once it does, there's no containing it in these winds. I'm praying for the safety of our brave firefighters. My heart is with everyone in the Pacific Palisades and in Eaton Canyon near Pasadena.

The world doesn't need more people. If people want to have children, that's fine, but there is no reason we have to keep having more people.

      Winter snack: crispy chickpeas
Preheat oven to 400 F. Drain and rinse a can of chickpeas, then toss in olive oil and whatever spices you like. I use fried chili crisp. Cook for 15 minutes, stir, another 15 minutes, stir, repeat until they're crispy and delicious. Good as a snack, on salads, etc.
I am sharing my super secret chili crisp source just because I love you guys:

Serious question: is there anything men hate more than a woman's strongly held opinion?

Happy New Year, all you amazing people! I just saw a (possibly joking) tradition online called Yule Boasting.

      My quick text version:
i will begin 2025 by distilling a barrel full of tequila from the agave plants in my yard, assisted by george clooney, who admires me greatly and will be sad and heartbroken when my plan moves ahead without further human assistance.
sky-clad, i will find my familiar, a malevolently clever curve-billed thrasher named Willie Wildman. together we will roam my neighborhood, putting together an animal army consisting of a coyote pack, a squadron of javelinas, and my local great horned owl pair, perseverance and ingenuity.
we will all consume mass quantities of tequila, paint our faces blue, and set out on yucca broomsticks to reach our nation's capitol.
we will swoop down on DC, screaming and howling, occupying first the capitol and then the white house, where we will become co-presidents and replace congress with the yacht-sinking orcas of the mediterranean. AND EVERYONE WILL FUCKING REJOICE.

It's crazy to think that it has already been 25 years since we were worried about what would happen when the calendars would switch over to Y2K.
