I've not seen any fundies talk much about him, but I've ready some of his books (not by choice, for a class) and he came across as kinda of fundie. He seemed to fear the 'humanistic' culture and wrote a whole chapter on the dangers of the movie The Dark Crystal.

This is worth a read, it's by Frank Schaeffer, one of the (now repentant) founders of the Religious Right. In fact, it's more than worth a read, because it explains why the Catholic bishops are such asshats right now, in the context of Colson's death.
