Your day compared to the Duggars, Bates and Josh

Got up around 7ish, fed the animals, showered, and did a load of laundry which was folded and put away once it was dry. I also put the breakfast dishes in the dishwasher so it's ready when there's a full load after dinner. I took out the trash from the kitchen because it was getting full, and it's not going to take itself out. Today is one of the days I have off from work, as I'm one of those women who dares to work outside the home, and since it's a nice summer-like day, I'm wearing defrauding shorts and a tank top.

Up at 0530, watched news, got kids up and dressed. Showered, put coffee in travel mug, went to hospital for stupid blood tests I had to fast for. Came home, picked up five year old, drove him to kindergarten, left 3 year old and 18 month old with hubby. Got oldest into school, stopped to see the public health nurse, got visit for youngest's shots, chatted about her sister. Went to store, got half the shopping done when on call cell rang, had to run nome so hubby could go in and do an x-ray. Played with smaller kids for an hour, did some dishes, put groceries away. Hubby came home, I left and finished the rest of the shopping, paid bills. Picked up oldest from kindergarten, got home, unloaded groceries and put them away. Put baby down for a nap. Made lunch for kids and hubby. Hubby went back to work.

Somewhere in all that shopping, I bought a new bag, so I changed my stuff over. Got baby up from nap, which was stinky - she pretty much crapped herself awake. Worked on a course for a while, kids played. I'm currently waiting to go back to the hospital for yet more stupid blood tests.

Then, I will come home, make dinner, feed all the kids (NOT like Alicia Silverstone), get them bathed and into bed, do about four loads of laundry and mop my hideous living room floor, and watch Grimm, because it's a new one and I've waited all week for it.

This is why I don't believe for a second Michelle Duggar can raise all those kids - I'm run off my feet with just three!

Got up at 8.30 after nursing my 18 month old in bed for an hour while dozing.

Made coffee. Drank coffee.

Four year old got up. Fed all three of us.

Four year old and 18 month old played while I wrote 7 emails to various government peeps (MPs & Prime Minister) asking them to put a stop to Motion 132, which is a motion that will essentially create a personhood law in Canada and re-open the abortion debate that has been closed for twenty years. Posted links on facebook to template letters so others could write letters to their MPs. Started a facebook abortion war.

Did some crafts with my four year old. Did some phonics flashcards with him for ten minutes.

Re-heated leftovers for lunch

Put my 18 month old down for a nap

Had a shower

Put 4 year old in front of iPad to watch Backyardigans while I checked Free Jinger and drank re-heated coffee.

Okay, I will cop to a totally lazy, unproductive day and I will even cop to not getting out of my pajamas (shut up), but unlike Smuggar I'm burned out from, you know, doing stuff, as opposed to a life of taking pix of junk food and putting campaign magnets on my fridge. I earned my day, dammit.

Forgot: two loads of laundry. (top that, Michelle)

But, unlike Smuggar and his retarded wife, and those over in the Duggar compound, I will be preparing a nice dinner that includes a healthy amount of vegetables, the fresh kind, that I will wash and chop and stuff. Vitamins! Effort! Imagine...

Given that my day is just starting these are actually plans, but here we go:

- Got up at 2 pm. (yes, 2 pm)

- Started coffee

- Fed the cats

- Checked my blood sugar

- Cleaned up the mess the geriatric cat left last night

- Checked my blog list while I drank said coffee (including here and my favorite porn sites)'

- Threw a batch of hummus in the blender

- Got dressed while my husband made breakfast and blended said hummus

- Breakfast

- More coffee

- Saw my husband out the door to work (Night shift at the ER, hence getting up @ 2pm)

- Found my bag, sun glasses, sun hat and cane (yes cane) and hobbled out the door to work toward that 5K I want to walk next year (Note to Sumggar, if a woman twice your age with a back injury can get herself through enough PT to make a goal of a 5K actually viable what's stopping you from getting off the backside? And don't give me modesty, I'm doing it in a skirt that would make your Momma proud while you get to wear pants.)

- Come home and start laundry

- Make tea and settle down for 30 minutes with the latest Victoria (Waves at Lady Lydia)

- Fold and roll laundry

- Clean the kitchen (Sweep, empty dishwasher, fill dishwasher, that sort of thing)

- Make a batch of lemon bars

- Fold and roll laundry (Yes, I plan three batches today)

- Take an hour to work on a sewing project

- Fold and roll the last of the laundry

- Take two hours and attempt to turn out 2,000 words on the current writing project

- Settle in to watch my lecture while knitting (College lectures on iTunes. Expand your mind for free)

- Depending on what time it is, maybe watch something else while knitting

- And when the husband comes home go to bed.

Lunch will be a half a veggie wrap the husband will make while he cooks breakfast (Eggs and oatmeal, not in the same bowl) and yogurt. Dinner will be broiled chicken, kale and quinoa, followed by a lemon bar.

And yes, I also used to work. I'm a retired teacher.

Woke up at 5:50, turned off the 6 am alarm clock, rolled over and tried to go back to sleep, but my furry alarm clock wanted breakfast. Got up, fed the cat, got me a Diet Coke, got online. Read my e-mail and news, yakked with my buds online. Brushed my teeth, took my (six!) pills, cleaned my glasses and put on some clothes I could actually step outside in. Realized it was 7:45 so I shut down my home box and set up my work laptop. From 8 to 8:30 listened to the morning call and multitasked (e.g. read my work e-mail, fixed a couple of things my lead called out in my reports I sent out yesterday, monitored our work chat room). More work after the morning call, including taking a break to take out the trash. At 11 am I had two meetings back to back. After the meetings, realized I hadn't seen the cat for a while, so I lured her out with the promise of kitty cocaine (catnip--delivered). I laid down for 30 minutes for lunch, then got up again, reviewed a much-fought-over PowerPoint for a meeting on Monday, uploaded it and sent an e-mail out to the meeting attendees. Took a break to write this on FJ, will go back in a minute to finish some more minor tasks for the day.

I got up at 6:00, got dressed in my FCKH8 shirt in honor of the Day of Silence, went to my women/gender studies class that's taught by a trans woman who is very open about her sex life, then got tutoring in higher math. Later I'm going to do homework for my class in evolutionary medicine and get a new prescription written for my neuropsychiatric disorder medication...... I feel like I'm kind of the opposite of the Duggars lol

Yesterday, I was up at 7:45 and went to the dorm cafeteria and got some scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. I studied for my medical terminology quiz (testing over Latin words that comprise the digestive system and optics) that was at 10:10. After this, I went back to my dorm, worked on a presentation for my consumer health course that I'm giving on hypnotherapy (pretty interesting) next week. I had lunch at around 12:30, worked some more on homework, and then left for my *gasp* evolution class. I learned about evolution in the context of parasites (and became very nauseous, but did not vomit) and, once that was over, went back to my dorm and worked on some more homework. At around 5 I set off for my final class of the day, statistics. Once there, I met with my professor about a draft I had submitted for approval comparing healthy habits to GPA to find a correlation. The rest of my day was committed to looking over the draft and fixing it and then watching Secret Circle. Not bad.

Yesterday, I got up at 6am, got my children ready for school. Put my son on the bus at 6:30, ate breakfast, sent my daughter off at 7:30. I went back to bed. :) I got back up at Noon. Took a shower, wrote for an hour, then left for work at 2pm. worked until Midnight (relief was late). At work, I refrained from killing the other nurse I work with and felt like I was parenting a 94yo woman. Got cussed out by another resident because I dared to do a dressing change on someone else. Smiled through it all and seriously questioned my sanity. Got home at 12:30 and went to bed at 2am. Got back up at 6am to get the kids off to school. Thank god I have today off!

Got up at 6:30, had shower, got dressed, had brekkie, went work (an ebil public school), began to clean up gym from this year's musical perfomance (was there 'til 9:30 last night), took my students out for gym (soccer skills/drills) after O Canada and announcements, continued to clean up gym while kids went to French class, had recess in the staff room, went back to class, discussed our musical, read aloud to the kids, assigned a writing activity, edited work, had pizza lunch in my class, ate lunch, dealt with misbehaving students (the principal was away), back to class for math - decimals and ratios, recess, art - perspective - nice day so we sketched outside after the lesson, dismissed the kids, drove home, had a quick dinner, watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer and now here I am on the computer.

Not the busiest day, but more than Michelle does. I actually teach my kids, and do not have a 19/20 year old GED student to do the job for me. I am going to bed early, because it is Friday and I am exhausted.

Got up, got the kiddo up, packed the kiddo's lunch. Got dressed and ready for the day, sent kiddo off to school. Drove to Walmart, purchased a few groceries, drove home, put dinner in the crockpot. Collected library books, drove to downtown branch of library, returned books, picked out new books. Drove to husband's work, where I proceeded to have lunch with him, then drove home. Checked a few things online, read several chapters of a new library book, drove to friend's house. Met up with said friend, we met our kids, who walked to her house after school. We hung out for a bit, then ds and I drove home. I made rice to go along with the crockpot dinner and I'm waiting for it to cook before we eat.

Had this been a T-W-TH, I would've posted about going to my eeeeeeeeeeeeevil science class/lab, but I don't have class on M/F, so. Busy day for being a day off.

I was woken up my sister giving me my wake up call but don't remember the time.

I rushed getting dressed and fed and the dogs out to go potty.

Took another phone call while trying to untangle my hair.

Talked to husband and tried to remember where I last saw my purse from last night.

Left shortly after dawn to go pick up sister and our nephew who lives with her.

Made a huge attempt not to drive over grade school children making their way to school as the the rising sun was in my eyes and the children seemed to be playing that the sidewalks were made of lava.

Picked up sister and nephew.

Got a go drink and drove to the next city south of us to take said nephew to the oral surgery.

Spent 4 hours with my sister in the waiting room while we waited for our nephew.

Got nephew back and tried to listen to his directions back to the interstate while mouth totaly numbed and full of cotton. Found interstate and headed towards our city.

Practiced safe driving skills by having my sister answer my cell phone and taking a message.

Stopped by walgreens and picked up meds for sister and nephew.

Drove them home and just did a drop off.

Stopped by taco bell on the way home to grab a lunch.

Got home and let the dogs back out for another peepeepotty.

Read FJ while eating lunch.

Decided I was in dire need of a nap.

Let dogs back in and took a nap with the 2 pugs.

Male pug decideds to sleep on my face while female pug askes to be let under the covers by standing on my hair.

Wake up to find my children came home and let me sleep for once.

Talk to my sister to see how nephew is doing.

Get on FJ.

that is it so far and I still need to get #4 son off to his weekend camping trip with the scouts.

So not a whole lot as the fundies would have done more than me today as I blew it by taking a nightmare nap.

Today was a fairly typical day. Got up at 5:30, hit snooze for 15 minutes, got up and ready, played with the cat (she demands I throw pieces of food for her to chase!). Walked 15 minutes to the bus, took the bus 5 minutes to the train and the train 10 minutes to the university. Taught 3 classes; today they were Writing, Grammar, and Pronunciation. Had a couple of meetings after class (today they fed us delicious empanadas, so yay!). Took the train back to the bus, walked 15 minutes home. Changed, drank some coffee and ate some chocolate. Now, FJ time! Later I'll walk downtown and meet a friend for dinner and gelato and to look at all the old cars (a Friday night tradition here).

Up at 10:30, played some Wii, worked on my novel, watched several inappropriate TV shows, and applied for jobs at a bunch of - gasp - wineries and pubs. Clearly, I need some time in the prayer closet.

Up at 5 am, at the gym by 5:25. Workout done by 6:25. Then, home for breakfast and a shower. Arrive at the office just before 8. Enjoy the quiet of the office from 8-9, read and answer crazy emails. Crazy loud people arrive around 9. Listen/observe slacker person in cube next to me yak to her friend/play on Facebook for 30 minutes while I have successfully delivered items to people in the building, found documentation in policies and procedures document to answer question from new crazy email, and organized items for a binder. How slacker keeps a job is beyond me... it makes me mad slacker can talk on the phone most of the day to her friends and play on FB when I am busting my ass. The difference- we have different bosses. However, my boss has gotten wise to her and people trust my boss, so if she does mention the behavior, people will listen. Did my usual duties, had meetings, ate lunch with friends in office, participated in service project with co-workers and board fellows- had fun conversation with board fellow from Malaysia during project.... then lots of work stuff. Merrily skip out of the building at 4:15 before it begins to rain. Come home for snack and fall asleep on the couch.... I'm super exciting. Now, time for Investigation Discovery TV and bed later.

I slept in verrrry late as I've been hardly getting any sleep due to exams+work and apparently my body needed 12+ hours of sleep. Spent some of the day preparing for a pro-choice protest, some of it working on a take home exam, and now I am brewing potions on Pottermore. Sloth, pro-choiceness and witchcraft. The Duggars would be appalled.

Got up at 7.30 am, made coffee. Drove boyfriend to airport, back by 9 am. Put in three hours of work, called family during lunch, went shopping for groceries. Worked till 5 pm, did laundry in between. Deboned a chicken, froze chicken in appropriate portions, made broth. Ate dinner on the go, met friend for drinks, discussed several new projects, and possible funding. Came home, ironed laundry, froze broth, planned tomorrow's dinner party, went online.

I graduated from a secular university back in December and am currently living at home with the parents until i can find a secular job in the ebil science field :D.

As of right now, I'm just enjoying spending time with my amazing parents and teaching myself some new recipes--I will conquer Julia Child's croissants one of these days! I failed today and my mom and I laughed about it and drank a gin and tonic from our kitchen bar. Hmm, texted my non-courtship boyfriend how much I love him while he was at work and pondered what he has planned on Sunday for our 4 year anniversary--no chaperons involved, plenty of kissing and full frontal hugs. Hand sex perhaps, minus the hand. Who knows.

Eh, that was my day. Oh and I managed to make an awesome pork quesadilla while tipsy. Success.

Fridays are good for me, hubby and kid off to work and school by 8am. Have the whole house to myself until 2:30. I did a little laundry while I watched a marathon of the Real Housewives of New Jersey (my guilty pleasure). Ran a couple errands before I picked my daughter up from school. Hit our swimming pool as soon as we got home because it's almost 90 degrees here! :) Thinking of ordering a pizza for dinner because it's too hot to turn on the stove or oven. So far it's been an awesome friday.

Man, I feel lazy. Up at 7:30, got my 2 y/o old up and boys off to school by 8:30. Put in a load of laundry. Packed little one up and off for shopping. Hung laundry once home (stupid dryer died). Did dishes, web surfed, dug for worms in back yard. Boys home at 3:30, argued them off to their father's at 4:30. Made dinner....used actual plates and will wash the dishes without an industrial dishwasher. Argued with the husband (no submission here)...no junk food, TLC cameras, foam plates or crunchy hair in site.

Woke up, contemplated the universe for a while.

Rode the exercise bike.

Ate breakfast.

Put flax seeds on the dehydrator to make flax seed crackers.

Got The Boy and myself ready for the park.

2 hours at the park.

Returned home.

Realized that I forgot to put oil on the waxed paper before spreading out the flax seeds.

Decided to keep going anyway, because I'm surbborn and kind of an idiot.

Cleaned.

Ate lunch, which included a kale/banana/pineapple smoothie. Josh would have a heart attack.

Cleaned some more.

Checked on the finished flax crackers.

Threw crackers in the garbage because I don't want to eat wax paper.

Tried to get my mom's neurotic dog to come downstairs to take a dump outside but he was afraid of a puzzle piece under her couch so he wouldn't budge.

Did a load of laundry.

Read my Authorized 1611 King James Version of the Holy Bible and not some wicked, modern PERversion.

Rearranged my room because my son kept pushing on the window screens. Our room is on the second floor of the house so I moved everything that could be used as a step away from the windows.

Attempted to kill the zillions of flies (ok, there were 10) that my son let in when he opened the back door and didn't close it again. Failed miserably. That counts as exercise right?

Puttered around the kitchen, wondering what to make for dinner.

Called parents for their opinions.

We chose pizza.

And her I sit, waiting for the "parental units" to get home so we can get our pizza fest on.
