Josh Duggar's Instagram (Part 2)

I really do wonder just how much Anna cooks for him when the cameras are not around the house. Whenever they show them on tv, Anna is seen cooking lunch and dinner for Smuggar but then when you look at his stupid Instagram, he seems to eat out more than have an actual home cooked meal. I think Smuggar's brain has been forgetting to tell him "You're full, stop eating." Plus, it wouldn't surprise me if his cholesterol is through the roof with the way he eats.

There is a hormone that is supposed to trigger your brain when you're full. I know I sometimes ignore it (big holidays, a couple birthdays a year), but who knows? Many people suffer from obesity because this mechanism is literally broken. Who knows with Smugs?

Agree that he probably needs cholesterol meds by now.

I think he's just doing all the stuff he wanted to as a kid and couldn't- stuffing himself, eating out all the time, driving all kinds of cars, not working regularly. There is something rather unrestrained or self-indulgent about it (and we all usually indulge, just not all the time like that).

This. He's having the adolescence he wasn't allowed to have. On the other hand, how much money is he spending on takeout - weren't they moaning about the lot struggling at some point. Junk food daily isn't cheap.

Haha...the SUV is getting gassed up at a Kum&Go. Aren't they building one on Josh's block?

OMG is this a national chain?? I saw one in a city close by..I thought it was just a locally owned place with the owner having a odd sense of humor

I wonder are they being subsidised for meals while they're on the campaign trail or something? I know food in America is cheaper than it is here, but I can't imagine eating out almost every day without running out of money pretty quickly -- and I haven't even got two kids and a shitty carlot.

Was the original of this the longest thread in FJ's history?

*feels inordinately proud for starting it*

*dances*

*realizes she looks like AD and quickly stops dancing*

I don't know if it was the longest, or just the largest 'cause of all the pictures, but all I know is it makes me happy!

I feel proud too because I killed it with my Japanese engineering post

National Chain, more of a mid-west type place. I about peed my pants the first time I saw one on my cross country trip.

Emotionally, Josh was 12 when he got married. I think he's around 15/16 now, so in ten more years he'll finally hit experienced adult maturity. By which time he'll have 14 kids and spend his days desperately hoping someone will buy a Ford Fiesta with 350,000 miles so the family can eat that night.

Oh, and Josh, I checked on KFC's website - 7 stores in your area have buffets. $7.49 for all you can eat KFC and a drink. We expect pictures!

(I only know about KFC buffets because I'm going to eat at one with with a friend visiting from out of town. I eat healthy 95% of the time, this is for pure indulgence.)

All of BOTH posts. What seems to be separating him from the other fundies we've seen who get married and settle down is that Smuggar also fancies himself some kind of celebrity and was the Crown Prince of a wealthy family. We haven't seen any of this from Noah Sanders or Cleve Morton (granted, he's still in the screw her until she can't walk phase even though he's already knocked Lise up) or, well any of the younger patriarchs. For the most part, they don't seem to become complete assholes until they experience their mid-life crises (see Cameron, Kirk and Phillips, Douggie and Bates, Gil).

Oh Josh, so much ammo...

Yes, you are supposed to work. And by "work" I mean GO TO YOUR PLACE OF BUSINESS. You know, the car lot that has your picture on it? You know, the one thats supposed to support your fast food addiction wife and children! That has nothing to do with Obama, that has to do with personal pride and responsibilities. The very same ones you blathered on for an hour about when telling everyone at the "be pure" bs rally we snarked about at length. You know, when you set yourself up as an example for youth to remain pure and do your "godly" duty as a man and head of household.

AND WHY THE FUCK DO YOU INSIST ON TAKING PICTURES FROM YOUR CAR? Eating fast food for the majority of your meals is BAD. Perhaps you should add "supersize me" to your DVD collection.

I am also fat and eat cheap convenience food fairly often. I don't post pix of it to the webz every day. I don't see anything wrong with criticizing Josh (I love that thread!) There is so much about Josh that is snarkworthy, it is not like we are picking someone off the street and snarking on their weight.

eta: oops, I think I meant to post this to the FJites vs gothardites thread

Regardless of where you meant to post it, I agree on most of your points here. I don't take it personally or get offended when people snark on Josh's weight. I also don't think I've personally snarked on it, because I feel like I have no room to talk. I love Chipotle burritos too...barbacoa is the absolute shit :D

I think Josh's weight gain reflects more on JB&M than it does on Josh, honestly. With that many people living on that small of a budget, they buy and cook in bulk. I doubt they've ever bothered to teach any of their kids about nutrition. I feel like the only thing saving the rest of the kids from drifting towards obesity is the fact that they have to share their food with 20 other people and they have a ton of work to get done. Once the others get married, at least the boys, I don't see any reason why they won't follow the same path as Josh and that is kind of troubling. Josh is the poster child for the JB&M school of child-rearing, and I don't think he's much of a success. The saddest thing about it is that they've got 18 more kids that they are going to raise the exact same way.

Hell, I've suggested we send him a copy of "Supersize Me" for quite some time.

Love, FJ, of course. He'd never make the connection.

For me at least its not even about the fact that he's eating out a lot or being an ignoramus. Its that he and JB&M go on national television and basically tell everyone that they are superior to the rest of us. Then he posts these photos of disgusting fast food which shows that they don't even try to live up to the standard that they are comparing the rest of us too. They wax poetic about frugality and being sinless. But, gluttony is a sin and Josh is a great example of it in action. It also shows how little care JB&M have for their eldest child. Now that he's left the house and produced some grandchildren they haven't thought to sit down with him and have a talk about his Instagram food porn being innapropriate and I doubt they have shown any concern for his health.

I am quite a bit older than Josh and my mother still shows that she cares about my health and what I eat etc... I am overweight from years of undiagnosed hypothyroidism and PCOS which, together, just destroyed my body. Also, the exhaustion often led to depression and poor food choices. Its such a struggle to lose the weight now, constant vigilance is required. It breaks my mom's heart, but I just cannot imagine it breaking Michelle's heart to see her oldest boy eating himself into an early grave and on top of it all bragging about doing that to himself.

It shows that he was never taught self control or humility in that house. They claim to be on a higher spiritual plane but in the end they are just as base and crude as the rest of us. The only difference is that we have the humility to admit to our faults.

For Josh and Anna to eat better they'll have to learn to think differently about food. If the TV show is any indication of what they are used to eating, this is how they have always ate. Although give it a few more kids and he'll have to learn to eat at home more often. Probably makes it easier for Anna though.

Regardless of what assnugget is eating tonight, let it be known that the current polls are not being kind to his candidate the Frothman.

I see he is eating at Acambaro again. It appears to be close to the car lot. Could he have possible done some auto type trade in exchange for food?

My husband once did trade at a frozen yogurt store. $500 worth of yogurt, it took us 18 months to use that credit and that was bringing every visiting family member and friend there. I told my husband no more trade for food(since then he has traded for an ipod and a flat screen..much better then food trade).

Not trying to defend him in any way, but are the meals he's eating out any worse than chickenetti and the like? I agree that what they really need is a good education on proper nutrition and a better outlook on food.

We were really bad about eating out all the time before LittleSquirrel came along, once we had bought our first house and were both making decent money (before that it was scrimping and saving for a down payment and the appliances and furniture we'd need, and paying off our debt, so I think once we could afford it we went overboard). And the meals we fixed at home probably weren't the healthiest, and I wasn't always good at making sure to stock a lot of veggies. But once we were expecting her, we both realized we had to change. There is no excuse for someone in this day and age to remain completely ignorant on the garbage we put into our bodies if it's coming from a drive-thru window or laden with processed stuff day in and day out** and to raise their children that way.

I worry more about the kids than I do Josh's self-indulgent ass. I have a very obese nephew (age 7) and a borderline obese nephew (age 8) because both sets of parents are too lazy to fix something decent when Taco Bell/McDonald's is so easy and cheap (and it's not a matter of either set not being able to afford anything better) and who can't say 'no' when their offspring want to drink a fucking Coke, even if it's the third or fourth one that day. It also stems from sedentary lifestyles and video games several hours a day, but still. A good diet would go a long way and it makes sick.

**There's also a big difference between someone who can obviously afford to spend $10-20 a day on lunch and snacks and someone who literally can't afford anything but that Totino's pizza that's on sale for $1 to feed their kids that day. I'm only judging the former, never the latter.

I'm really craving salty as part of my PMS this month and those chips (even as bad as they probably are) made my mouth water.

Sadly, no chips in the hizzy. Hubby did buy some Triscuits, but I'm not big on crackers. Or chips, usually.

Let me clue you in. The cravings don't go away with menopause :( I've been on a salt frenzy since about 3:30 today.

Maybe it's a west coast thang! I blame it on the weather (which was gorgeous today, actually).

eta: Too bad about the Beevs. My guys are playing right now and frankly they're the only team that played today that isn't hot as a pistol. I always root for the First BIL unless they're playing Da Bears.
