Santorum On Scientist

Santorum keeps saying things that shock me. The man seems to have no common sense when it comes to his own campaign.

I am trying to quote from the video as accurately as I can. Forgive me if I get anything slightly wrong.

"The reason that we limit certain studies to animal studies is not because we have a moral objection to it. It's because we're afraid that the research being done could actually harm humans. We want to test them on animals first. Not because science feels any moral compulsion. In fact, science...most scientiests, unfortunately...those who are advocating for this and many others feel very little moral compulsion. It's a utilitarian, materialistic view of doing whatever they can do to pursue their desired goals. I think that someone has to step in and check that and has to pay for the people of America who pay their taxes. They dont' want to see those tax dollars used for morally objectionable things. No one is stopping them from doing this type of activity. Only suggest that those like this woman here not have to pay for it through federal dollars."

Underneath the video it states that this was in response to a discussion on stem cell research

Dear Rick Santorum,

Fuck you. Seriously, I began my day thinking that you made me throw up and I am ending it wanting to completely throttle you.

No love,

The daughter of a scientist

Hey guys, I just did my patriotic duty by googling "santorum" as I do often, and it's not on the front page anymore!! We need to keep it up until November. When you Google Santorum right now it lists his political pages.

Hmmm, my family's tax dollars are used against our will to fund wars and the death penalty. Those poor taxpayers forced to minimally fund research that may save lives...

Just googled Santorum 3 times.

Yeah, our desired goals are really immoral, aren't they, like curing disease, finding clean energy sources, solving hunger and overpopulation, understanding climate change... Damn scientists.

Once you get done with that, can you help this immoral (since his definition more closely matches that word) cover the town in itchy acrylic yarn? We have got to live this up while we can.

Edited to say I googled his ass 30 times. The power of an auto reload program.

Do I understand correctly that Frothy's wife is (was) a nurse? Doesn't that qualify her as a scientist? At the very least, she was trained by scientists.

Bubbabearzle, I love you and all the scientists/mathematicians who are there trying to make this world a safer, better place to live.

Seriously, if he wants Google to treat him fairly, then he needs to treat everyone fairly.

Frothy, my scientist husband has more integrity in his fingernail clippings than you have in your entire body.

...

He is truly disgusting. I've been trying not to read or listen to too much about him because I have enough things to be annoyed about already, so I'm not up on every idiotic thing that comes out of his mouth. My dad is constantly ranting about him, though. I think he hates Santorum even more than Dubya, which is quite a feat.

PS. I've got Google set reload a Santorum search every 5 seconds.

PPS. Fuck you.

The longer this idiot goes on, the more puzzled I am. I wouldn't have thought he could have gotten elected to the STATE legislature in his home state.

I am a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (a direct health care profession). We used to be called medical technologists, but the terminology has been changed. This has been my profession for nearly 37 years.

How stupid he is.

Totes props to scientists from this liberal arts major. Santorum will say anything to get a fundy vote. It's OK; he's building quite an impressive record to be used against him by reasonable people in the general in November, if he gets the nomination.

Dear Rick Santorum,

Your daughter, whom you so lovingly pimp out during your campaign to show your "morality", is alive for one reason and one reason only : SCIENCE. Shut the fuck up and go the fuck away.

Love,

A Scientist

Anyone who genuinely tries to link stem cell research to abortion is either stoopid or dishonest or both. Would he be against something so obviously good, if it didn't rile people up in opposition to his bull shit personhood agenda? I kinda doubt it.

Then again, he might, because he is so proud of his anti-intellectualism. Having a go at scientists is just what he does before breakfast. What an ignorant fuck.

I wonder whether people are supporting him, because they don't yet fully understand his platform, or whether this is really the way we are going in this country?

In other news... I'm really late to the Google party. I understand his Google results are completely amusing, but how does Googling him help to maintain that gold standard of butt froth references? Are you specifically Googling his name along with other choice search terms, or are you just counting on the engine to continue providing the most relevant results for this ass clown?

I do know this about the latest Google algorithm: a site ranks higher, if users enter the site and click through several links instead of backing out. I don't know whether anyone has mentioned that yet.

...and that's why a friend of mine came to Toronto to do his stem-cell post-doctoral research, which will hopefully lead to the knowledge that we need in order to end cancer. What immoral about curing disease?

America thanks you for your interests in our political well being :D

Seriously, I'm impressed and pleased that somebody outside our country cares so much about this douchebag not ever having any power that they would be helping so much to googlebomb his name.

Just had my anatomy scan today. Would it be awful if we revealed the sex of number 2 At silly girl's first birthday party? We have the envelope, I just don't know If we want to open it before or during her party or give it to my sister in law to bake the color into her cake? I don't want to feel like I'm taking attention off of her

Guess I should update again? Frieda (Kiki, we renamed her) is here since the end of February 2021. She came with a bunch of problems, but is the best dog ever and is doing better every day. But we do now know how a dog with ptsd looks like. For real, not joking. If she is triggered during the day, she wakes up screaming at night. Not like dogs dream, but literally screaming. Other than that she went with us on countless trips, loves hiking and even cable cars. She is one heck of a fearless dog in situations who do not remind her of her old life.
My Grandpa passed away last May and I'm still grieving a lot. After sharing a house with my grandparents for over 30 years it is just horrible to lose one of them. Even though it was his decision and he got to go like he wanted. At home, in his bed during the night without doctors. He would have need more care and he did not want more care. So after turning 90 he decided to let go and became weaker and weaker.
In other news my dad stops working for good on April 1st. Retirement time. Keep my Mum and myself in your prayers. We really do not want him at home all the time. Haha!

Well, this is weird. At some point, recently, I broke my wrist. I had to get a Dexa-scan today (put it off for years) and along with some bone loss, damn I had it a few minutes ago… the results said, “Fracture risk is moderate, and the patient has a significant wrist fracture. Treatment is advised.”  my left wrist aches a little but not near as much as my back, feet, knees or fingers, damn RA. I have no idea how it happened. I haven’t fallen in 2 years, haven’t banged or bumped…  the dr will call tomorrow and we’ll get  this straightened out.
