Bible verses on groceries

Kelya, they have done some really sketchy stuff especially with bloggers who make fun of them.

Curiosity: piqued. Do you feel at liberty to expound/do you have any links?

There's a type of rice milk you can get in Australia that has Bible verses printed on the box. I can't remember which brand. I pointed it out to my sister once and said "That's kind of adorable"; her reaction was completely opposite which I find interesting, given that she's a Christian and I'm an atheist.

Forever 21 is known around here for being some of the skankiest clothes...

So both of you were right - they are Korean AND they print the Bible verse on the bag. I never knew that... I mean you can be saved and dress skanky... ;) But, I would have never guessed...

Wow...I didn't know that. Skanky clothes put in a bad with a Bible verse. Go figure.

Posting bible verses on the bottom of a bag is the least offensive thing fundies do. I am indifferent because it's usually on the bottom of the bag.

I never knew that about In-and-Out, but I'll still buy the occasional fast food meal there. I try not to eat fast food much, but when I do, I choose either In-and-Out or Pollo Loco (although Pollo Loco in Southern California tastes better to me than what I get in my Northern California city - hmmmmm).

I wouldn't mind the bible verses if it were such verses as

Matthew 19:24

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

or

"Whatsoever you do for the least of my brothers, that you do unto me"

or

"Judge not, lest ye be judged."

Heh - I'm sure fundies are quite as crazy for those verses as some of the more fire and brimstone Old Testament ones.

My "life verse" is Malachi 4.1. "Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace..."

Always interpreted it as a call to revolution. I wouldn't mind that on a coffee cup, but on a burger it might put one off a bit.

Forever 21 has aggressively taken legal action against bloggers who give them less than positive reviews and/or run sites making fun of them. They know they could not win the battles, it is all satire and/or opinion, but they seemed willing to drag people through the court system. I occasionally check in with wtforever21.com, she used to post a lot about the battle but I think she has been either under gag order or advised not to discuss a pending legal action?

That's really interesting. I realised once I was there that I have come across the blog before (an Arrested Development tumblr linked to the Arrested Development costumes guide a while ago), but I'd never been through the other posts. Some of them are hilarious!
