On the episode where they announced that she was pregnant with Mackynzie, Jim Bob says "How many kids do you want?" and she mutters "As many as possible" but Josh talks over her and says "We'll be happy with just a few if that's what the Lord wants." BUT that was 3 years ago, so many her opinion has chaged. Not that she'd ever admit it...

She was probably told to change her opinion.

Let's say down the road, Anna has a few pregnancies that ended in miscarriages and was told that she needed to go on BC to prevent another pregnancy because she is too high risk now to get pregnant ever again. What do you think Josh would do? Would he allow her to go on BC? Would they just stop having sex? I doubt Josh would use condoms. Plus, they are not as effective against pregnancy because condoms can break.

In all our years of off/on condom use, we have never had one break. I think if they do it's often from user-error.

Probably best if Smugs doesn't use one then....

Mackie playing with her toy violin was cute, but did anyone else find Josh's violin painfully out of tune? I have unusually sensitive ears, so maybe it was just me, but I had to put my hands over my ears. :violin:

There's nothing wrong with not having a natural ear for music when it comes to turning your instrument, but you can buy a little doohickey thing that will tell you when you've got your instrument tuned correctly. Please, Jim Bob and Josh, invest in some!

Is it just me or does it seem like Smuggar is just going through the motions of being a dad and business owner? It's like he doesn't really want to be married and have kids, but he has to because of his cult-like upbringing. He didn't seem too enthusiastic about the car lot in the episode either. I really feel like non-fundie Smuggar would be living in a college dorm somewhere playing beer-pong and looking at porn all day.

I see it too. I think he loves Anna and the kids and I don't see him leaving them, but at the same time I think he now realizes how much he has missed out on. Practically overnight, he went from living the life of a very sheltered 12-year-old to living the life of a 30-year-old, skipping all the stages in between. I don't get the impression he wants a lot of kids, but maybe he and Anna feel pressured to have more babies to keep the TLC gravy train going? Michelle probably can't have more and it doesn't look like any of the other Duggar kids are getting married anytime soon.

Yea can they fit any more shit in that crib and still have room for the kid? And yes you are right, based on the way the bumper is tied that one side is kept lower. mr. and mrs. buttnugget have once again proved that they are a couple of lazy fucknoodles.

Two more of my favorites...

They're clearly trying to kill michael.

Showmichael.jpg

At least he is lying on his back. Don't they know pillows, stuffed animals and quilts are dangerous for babies? Any of that stuff should be removed from the crib to reduce the possiblity of SIDS!

I feel really bad for Anna, and even (gasp!) for Smuggar. JB and Michelle chose this life. I don't think two kids who never even kissed before marriage could possibly be prepared for what they were getting into.

Also, accidentally Anna married a douche bag, so there's that.

I feel bad for both of them too. Yeah, Smuggar is probably a lazy douchebag, but I think growing up as he did - patriarchy! eldest son! golden boy! - it would be hard not to. He may have had slightly more freedom than his sisters, but it's not like his parents would have ever let HIM go to college or choose his own career path, either. JB and Michelle both had a normal youth and chose to turn into ridiculous nutcases (no other way to put it) at some point. Neither Smuggar nor Anna ever stood a chance, and we can only hope that when the show finally ends, they'll see that having a clown car full of kids isn't feasible on their income and go fundie-lite at least.

You hit the nail on the head. He went from being in a HUGE family, with a lot of sisters to take care of him, to being the "man" of the house. He's not prepared mentally. He also entered into it not really understanding what it would require, because he hasn't found himself yet and he hasn't grown into a man...

Any time a Duggar kid plays the violin they sound out of tune. The girls sounded awful in last week's episode when they played at that church. Josh sounded awful last night. I remember someone here said a long time ago that the Duggars really don't handle the violins properly and that they also don't sound like they have fully trained.

Let's see if I understand all the "great" points of the 2 episodes this week.

1. Josh thinks cloth diapers are nasty, but Anna uses them (He doesn't SAY that, but the vibe is there). Josh helps with this as little as humanly possible.

2. Josh, after demolishing the interior of the taco joint is now moving the car lot to the location he really wanted but that took Jim-Bob to long to acquire.

3. Anna has seen the future and is backtracking on a big family--sounded knd of like that at one point, but then decides with obedience training it's possible.

4. Oh, yeah, we still buy used and save the difference when the cameras are here.

5. Wasn't Justin a bit old for that Jeep?

6. Again Duggars shop pawn shop not caring if the merchandise was stolen.

7. Vanderwhoevers defied Gothard and adopted, ignoring the sins of the birth parents. Gasp.

8.Anna looks better in makeup. Maybe she's doing Mary Kay on the side? hahahahhahah

9. Friend Cindy leads a normal life. Like the way Michelle deflected the "do you remember any cheers" thing.

10. I understand the trip also had a doctors appointment for Josie. Why did the boys go? Jana looked really pissed off most of the brief time she was on camera.

I wanted to know more about Friend Cindy like if she married and has kids. I bet she probably thinks Michelle is a loon now.

But whereas Michelle was at 12 weeks in the premiere, she tells us in the confessional that she’s now at 18 weeks. Why is this such an important number? Why, it’s because she miscarried at 18 weeks. That means that on the show, it’s going to happen any day now! It’s like the ending of that movie Remember Me, when the teacher writes “September 11, 2001″ on the chalkboard like it ain’t no thang and then we discover that Robert Pattinson is standing in the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

Maybe it's because I'm a cynical beeatch who doesn't find the Duggars even remotely credible, but watching Michelle doing the talking heads about her pregnancy milestones, I got the feeling they were filmed after the demise of Jubilee so they could be weaved into the unfolding series story.

I could be wrong. But if I'm not, she's even creepier and more famewhoreish than anyone ever imagined.

I wonder if Anna will go up and down the line when she has ten kids tossing food in their mouths to keep them happy while getting their hair cut? My son got his first cut at about a year oldand he LOVES it. He's now almost two and he always sits relatively still enjoying all the fuss the stylist makes over him. We go to the same Hair Cuttery so they know him and fawn over him.

I think Anna doesn't want to have a ton of kids super quick. I felt it was pretty crazy taking all those kids alone to the playground. The J'slaves must have been happy to have a break. Couldn't Michelle have watched Michael? I doubt he got much out of the much anticipated first trip to the playground since he was in almost none of the shots so I bet he was sitting in his carrier the whole time. Guess it was a normal day for him.

I wasn't sure if I should post this in this thread or start a new one, but how long does it typically take for episodes to get posted to Youtube? I don't have TLC and I'm sure not paying for it :) .....but still wouldn't mind watching the nonsense for free.

I saw the ratings. Both episodes were almost the same 1.5 and 1.51. Slightly up in the 18-49 from last week from .5 to .6

I was hoping to see lower. I ratings are up a bit from last season. I think they need to be closer to 1.0-1.2 to get cancelled.

Ratings are up because people are tuning in expecting to see the Jubilee disaster. TPTB at TLC must be patting themselves on the back for deciding to string along the viewers and postpone the sad ending.

Personally, I find it despicable.

Very true that Anna looks better in makeup. She actually looks very pretty when she does her makeup nicely.

I found a Mary Kay link on the FJ blogger list, and have always been wondering what the relevance of that is. Presumably it was before my time here. Do some of our fundies do Mary Kay or what?

For awhile after finding that link I was quite obsessively intrigued by the cult of Mary Kay. I longed to discuss it with someone here, but no one seemed to be talking about it anymore.

Lyndsie sells Mary Kay and I think there are a couple of others here do sell too.

Did anyone notice how horrible Michelle looked in the 1st episode when she was talking to the camera about being 18 weeks along?? Her face looked so puffy and she looked like she had been crying. I wonder if they filmed that after the miscarriage? Then in the second episode when she was talking to the camera in her green shirt she looked fresh and bright eyed. I bet that was taped before the miscarriage.

It made me sad when Michelle was talking about how much fun she had in high school. Too bad her kids will never go through that experience.
