Jon Stewart "The vagina idealogues"

I record his show every night to watch with my daughters while we eat breakfast. Last night's episode was brillant. I don't know if your clip showed it but he does a very good job of explaining why Christians aren't persecuted. He also points out that religious institutions get tax breaks that couldn't happen if they were being persecuted in this country.

He stated that not always getting your way isn't called persecution, it is called being a part of a society.

Yep -- that was in the second video.

They "Godwin-ed," and he doesn't let that slide. :D

Apparently some Fox News guests are screaming that our country is turning into Nazi Germany. I love the way Stewart used history against them.

Using Godwin's Law is rarely an appropriate argument.

Can we send all there people to foreign lands to see real persecution? My pastor went to Tanzania last week and said THEY get persecuted. At one of the churches the radicals out there were throwing stones at the church the pastors on the trip and everyone at the church. Some of them went through the roof. Nobody was hurt... But that was mild compared to the things that happen over there. Submitting to my wonderful headship FJ once again.

I should show this to my Catholic priest. He cares more about BGLT and womens' rights of abortion and birth control than people dying of health reasons, persecutions, and fighting for freedom. And these are the people of God? Please.

I just love Jon Stewart, almost everything he says about the Republicans is almost true.

No offense to any Republicans here, I just wish Republicans wouldn't use religion as an excuse.

I love Jon Stewart!! Three friends and I were lucky enough to be at that taping last night; it was a great show. So much fun to actually be right there in the studio.

We credit the Daily Show with keeping us sane during the Bush years.

Jon Stewart is a good reason for fundies to hate television. If they watched him, they might actually be convinced. That is, if they had any sense of humor/logic whatsoever.

Sadly, that's probably in short supply with extremists.
