I'll be using my dual citizenship to move back to Canada should he be elected. Just have to family know I will be crashing on their couches for awhile.

I would 99% says respect the president but if Santorum was elected he would fall into the other 1%. That is a thought to horrible to fully develop. He would make all the other not so good (IMO) presidents look amazing in comparison.

No offense, guys, but if Santorum gets elected, I think everyone's pretty much going to give up on the US entirely. Especially since he will probably destroy the world economy in a week. (Not that I think he will be elected.)

The Republican Party higher ups do not want Santorum. Hopefully this is just some sort of fluke, and he will fade to 3rd or 4th in the more moderate states. If he continues to win, expect some major mud-slinging and very negative ads to start.

The title of this thread caused my heart to beat harder and not in a pleasant way. Even the through frightens me.

If he did anything for the Duggars, it would be a small gesture, maybe invite them to the White House for dinner. None of the Duggars have any experience or knowledge that would qualify them for any position in government. Then again, I'm shocked Santorum has made it this far.

The Republican higher ups are not happy with any of the remaining canidates. They don't seem to like Romney because he is a Mormon. Ron Paul terrifies them.

If Santorum becomes president, the following may happen.

The states may get the right to regulate birth control.

Abortion may become illegal

He will push for a personhood law

There will be a huge backlash against gay rights including marriage and adoption

He will set women's rights back at least 50 years.

The environment will suffer.

He thinks global warming is a fraud. He thinks fracking is a good thing.

He thinks that medicare should be privatized.

He supports social security privatizion

He supports more tax cuts for the rich and for corporations.

He supports massive deregulation of health, worker and consumer protection

He will attack Iran

He will send troops back to Iraq

He will defund education. He doesn't believe in early education.

He calls Obama an elitist snob for wanting to put a college degree within reach of all

Quoted for truth. I'm on the wagon train to Canada with everyone else...

Perish the thought!

I've gotten the impression that Josh is angling for SOME kind of job with him. Maybe social media guy, so he can run Santorum's twitter and facebook, so he could post all the hateful messages he wants and just block/delete the ~haters~? You know every time the Duggars are mentioned in an article about Santorum, it pumps his tires that much more.

I am sure that I can up with more.

The personhood nonsense becomes Federal law, and all women of childbearing age are classified as pre-pregnant. In order to avoid liability lawsuits, bars become men only, or will only serve women who can prove they are not pregnant. Sterilization clinics pop up all over the place so women can get sterilized and get government ids to prove they cannot be pregnant, thus allowing them to purchase alcohol and ride roller coasters.

Unless Romney's got some giant skeletons in his closet, I don't see Frothy getting the nomination. He's fiscally liberal, if he becomes a serious contender more research will be done into his spending while in Congress, and then conservatives won't be able to support him (except the ones that put abortion above all other issues).

If Santorum because prez, then the leader of the free world will be a giant POS. Wouldn't be the first time, but I'd take Bush as prez and make him my prom date before I'd sit in the same room as this ignorant sack of crap.

Sorry, but what's a POS?

All I can think of is Point of Sales... somehow I think that's not it :D

Maybe, especially since the gloves come off come general election. The moderates won't want a coo-coo wimmin are ebbbbbbbbbbbbil! Being the President (and let's face it-Electoral College or not-the election is won by getting the moderates to vote for you-and I think a lot of GOP don't care for their picks and will "cross the line" too).

I'm in the UK, and a firm socialist. Santorum makes me grateful for David Cameron.

Agree. Never thought I'd see the day where I'd be grateful for Cameron but Santorum made it happen.

The thing I would be most concerned about would be his ability to appoint judges to the Supreme Court. The president can do some things by executive order, but for sweeping changes, he'd need the cooperation of the house and senate. There is certainly a perfect storm scenario where the entire legislature can be dominated by right wingnuts and then we would be in trouble. It's kind of happened here in Ohio, but even with all of those things lining up, the public has pushed back. Ka-suck has one of the lowest approval ratings of any governor in the country, and we were able to repeal one of his landmark pieces of legislation, Senate Bill 5, which stripped public workers of union rights.

Well, nightmare scenario is we lose the Senate, too. Dems have a lot of seats to defend. Then we'd really see the GOP get its crazy on.

God help us all.

I'm starting to harbor a huge grudge against fiscal conservatives who are standing by these bat shit crazy evangelicals in order to achieve a GOP majority. I have friends from childhood who are fiscal conservatives without being social conservatives, but they'll talk right out their asses, trying to justify fundies' birth control tantrum, because it's "not economical" to force insurance companies to provide the pill for free. These are the same "take-the-business-world-by-the-horns" women who have a single child and wouldn't dream of staying home forever.

I just want to slap these people upside their damn heads. They should know better.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't believe in education unless it's bible-approved. I believe he wants to defund all public education.

HOW does he have supporters? HOW?
