Seriously wtf is up with Mama Duggar's hair lately. It went from Fugly in the early specials, to kinda cute before Josie, to fuglier than ever this season.

Example of kinda cute:

at 2:29 her hair looked normal!

You know, I've wondered the same thing. Michelle was starting to look less crazy.

Maybe JB blamed Michelle for the miscarriage on her becoming too worldly (ie, styling her hair and makeup better). Who knows what goes on in TTH behind closed doors between those two.

IMO, the lack of physical, emotional and psychological boundaries in the ATI universe, where you do not even own your own clothing, has spread like wildfire and now affects Michelle's mullet. Should be hitting the j'slaves in another 3 weeks...

In one of the more recent episodes, there was a shot of of the back of Michelle's head. It looked like she had a bunch of tiny butterfly clips in her rat's nest, uh, hair. Maybe she wears some sort of wig/hairpiece?

3, I think she's rocking a bump-it back there these days. Beats teasing the shit out of it, especially since she's been doing it since 1984.

There was speculation on TWOP that she wears a hairpiece along the lines of the little girls' pig tails etc.

In looking at it, the part that goes down around her face *does* look fresher and curlier than the rest of her hair....

Her hair damaged because she uses so much product on it and because its curly you really cant rip a brush thru it without causing damage! I've always wanted to give herr a lesson in longhair care! It doesnt have to look like crud but she does need to cut some of the ends off and start over!

Exactly - that much hairspray is seriously damaging to long curly hair. It needs to be treated very gently - I've actually found that my curls look better when I do less to them. Brushing breaks up the pattern. Teasing - just no.
