If they are leaving it up to God, then why use NICU? Surely, He should render these babies impervious to the hazards the rest of us sinners have learned to expect from having babies after 40. You might think one sick baby was a life lesson or part of some speshul plan we can't appreciate, but these babies are coming out messed up left & right now. That's either God totally asleep at the wheel or a big effing hint that we might want to take a little responsibility for our own health and the health of our families.

A friend of mine recently had a full-term stillbirth, and they gave the child the name they had chosen earlier in pregnancy. I get that you can feel equally as sad about your first child dying as your nineteenth, but it's hard for me to believe that these people aren't seriously cushioned from the tragedy by the way their children are more accessories than people. I don't understand why they can be so callous as to act like abortions are done by people who can't be "inconvenienced" by things like a lack of money or emotional capacity to handle a pregnancy, but they can't be inconvenienced by the ill health of their newborn as to give him a real name. And maybe the Bates just didn't get around to picking a name and our speculations about his current namelessness are wrong, but the Duggars definitely shafted Jubilee by not naming her the coveted Julia. I wouldn't even judge people for not wanting to give up a name to a baby they knew would die (I've heard in the past when infant mortality was high people re-used names until an infant survived with a name), but I don't understand how people can clearly have different reactions to miscarriage/infant death and act like they're the most devastated ever because they have to pretend like they totally see every single stage of pregnancy as a full human being, when really they're just disappointed that their accessories weren't exactly what they wanted.

I still can't believe they can come up with a name for a fetus right off the bat, but can't give their newborn who is in the NICU a name for, what? Days? I am very lucky that neither of my children had a stay in the NICU (well my youngest was there for about an hour because he was having a little trouble breathing and they were monitoring him. But by the time I was out of recovery, he was already getting his bath. Granted, I was in recovery for longer than most because my BP was in the toilet. I have extremely low BP anyway and it was low, even for me. But I couldn't imagine being huddled around my newborn's little incubator talking to him, saying his name, and giving him words of encouragement. Poor kid.

And my nighttime meds are kicking in, so I'm gonna leave it at that before I start rambing on incoherently.

Idle speculation, but could it be that some of the TLC film crew are with the Bates family right now because a Duggar/Bates courtship is going to be announced? They showed the build up to Zach and Sarah's courtship, so if a Duggar/Bates courtship is upcoming, they would definitely have the film crews there prior to the courtship announcement.

Just a thought...

In the fundie world does the bride typically move to where he husband is? I'm not great with Bates names, but girl Duggar and boy Bates so girl Duggar goes to live with the Bates, TLC cameras follow, and a new series is born.

I'm sure Zach had to escort the three girls, because Lord knows, 3 young women aged 15-20 can't make a trip on their own without a MAN to make sure they don't run off to become strippers at Myrtle Beach. I think the new baby is the buddy of the girl just below Tori in birth order, so she's at home, and Michaella doesn't need to be there for that singing arrangement (those 3 seem to be the official female ambassadors for all things ATI in the Bates clan), so no reason for her to make the trip.

When the couple was kneeling down there were a whole bunch of people around them. Dimbulb and J'chell were on the left and I think Gil and Kelly were on the right. The video wasn't great so it is possible it was someone else, but it sure look like them.

I saw the couples leave the stage, but didn't see any Bateses (Canadian Hippie's YouTube link can be rewatched for confirmation either way). The video captures Boob's speech and how much Michelle has shrunken over the years (is she even 5 feet tall anymore?) and another couple with a lady in a coral top - not Kelly's style - who also didn't look like she'd just given birth and the husband also looked too tall to be Gil. All I could really see were the parents of the bride and groom.

If Kelly left that baby sick in the hospital, shame on her! Hell, if she BROUGHT him, fresh off of NICU stay, shame on her.

When I watched it live it sure looked like them but I just went back and re-watched that and on second thought I don't think it was them, but the video is bad so I can't tell for sure either way.

I just re-watched it and there were no Bateses onstage. The other two couples exited on the groom's side. The older lady in coral had short hair and the second couple was too tall and thin and pretty much diametrically opposed to the Bateses in appearance.

I think Zach drove the girls down, but wasn't a part of the wedding.
