Well I have problem with men who can't keep their fly closed and a mother who doesn't take care of her kids .Can JB even afford to buy girl scout cookies?I am surprised he even knows what the girl scout are.He would never let his girls join they might learn how to be indepent young women o my goodness that would be shame.They might find out they can go to college,get a job,or they don't have to make 21 babies.Then the money boat would sink.Of course the main reason is he might have to drive them to and from scouts and be a real parent.It would take away from his personal time. :doh:

I agree that Michelle was never a Scout leader, either of a Girl Scout troop or a Brownie Scout troop. Generally, mothers of the girls function as leaders, and I think we can say with 100% confidence that none of her daughters were ever Scouts. Furthermore, the only time she had was after Josh and before Jana/JD. And that's when she and the Boob were working on their businesses and mourning non-Caleb.

As a former Girl Scout myself (1st-12th grade) I am appalled by JB's attitude. I feel that scouting is and should be an equal opportunity organization. The only problem I have with the scouts is that they sell those overly addictive cookies in January, when I'm still actively trying to stick to a diet.

So here's my question. If Jim Bob types want to forbid trans girls from joining girl scouts, where should they go. And you know what?? Boob is an inbred jackass, capiche, but I'm much, much more angry at Michelle than I am at him. After all, she went to public high-school, dated boys before marrying Boob, and was a Girl-Scout leader. Boob was a fundie for pretty much all his life but she "tasted secular life" so to speak, and doesn't want to give her daughters the same kind of freedoms that she enjoyed. Hence my dislike of her being more deep that for her hubby. But he's a tool as well.

I so hope that there will be a better future for Jana, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joy, Johannah, Jen, Jordyn and Josie. If the child identifies herself as a girl, then she is a gilr and she has got all rights to hang out with other girls, supportive ones until the day she can physically become the woman she wants to be. Biologically speaking, but biological sex is irrelevant. The Girl Scouts are about gender. It's about building girls up because in our culture girls need to be built up, and that includes (maybe especially) trans girls. I think going co-ed would defeat the purpose a bit. And going co-ed just to please some bigots? No.

I'm confused about many trans issues. But surely this girl identified child should be allowed to join the Girl Scouts as a matter of course.

She feels that she is a "she", what more is needed? A genital check? A background check? Do the antis think she should have to show a birth certificate...just her, not the other girls?

Also, her mates are there. She wants to hang around with them in their troop or whatever and have fun. This sounds like a good plan.

Sex is what you're biologically born with but gender is what you identify yourself with. Sex is not what you identify yourself with. You can be born a girl but if you think like a boy and identify yourself more with it, then gender wise you are a boy.

Jim Bob should just shove it and mind his own business. Whether someone is a transgender or not should not prevent them from doing everyday normal activities; it's discrimination. If someone made him prove that he's a man, I'm sure he would be in an uproar.
