A few things I noticed from their about us section

-Why is the whole section completely one sides and only has David talking about his family and his view on Priscilla? Why hasn't Priscilla mentioned anything about her life and her views on David before the courtship? Even though Smuggar and Smuggaress annoy me, they both told their stories on their website.

-David had to show his journals to his parents?! Do his parents have to make sure he's still being accountable and modest? Do these fundies seriously not trust their kids to have the slightest privacy in their lives?!

-It doesn't say anything about David and Priscilla talking, working together, etc, so I don't understand how both can fall for each other with little to no communication whatsoever.

-I don't care what fundies say, but I find it creepy that the man has to call up the father to began a courtship with the daughter; the daughter has to "pray" about it and then give the father a "yes" or a "no" and then the father calls up the guy to give the green light or not.

I don't know what I just read, but it didn't seem to be about two people getting married! My nephew and his wife told lots of sweet memories and funny stuff on their page and even Josh and Anna were more personal than this mess. What in God's name is attractive about this guy?? eta: What on earth are kindergarten kids doing to have a "negative influence" on their twin speshul flowers that made the parents yank them out of school? In the first Grandduggar episode Mrs Keller says "My baby is 11". That was in September/early October 2009 so... 13-14ish now.

David is much more articulate than Josh. There's one typo where (I think) he meant to say "noisier" not "nosier".

It's also really weird the way he mentions he had only dated his mother and his sisters. Ewww! I wonder if this meant they were allowed to go out to dinner, just the 2 of them?

I had to reread that part multiple times on their website to make sure I was reading it right.

This is why I'm thankful my parents were not super religious fanatics. Yes, it's a good thing if you and your future spouse share similar beliefs/faith but you shouldn't just solely base your judgement on that.

I'm still flabbergasted over the whole journal crap. It looked like David was trying to justify that the journal was between him and God, even though his parents were reading it all. I don't care if the journal is between you and your dick, it's still a private matter and no parents have a right to read over it. How the hell is that a "private" journal then? It doesn't make any sense to suggest to someone to write down their deepest thoughts, only to have someone read it over to make sure you're not sinning. I know they didn't say that line per se, but we know thats why his parents read over his entries.

I don't understand the whole "internet usage" Pa Keller said to David over the phone. Maybe Priscilla is more anti-internet compared to David? Who knows, but it seemed rather random to throw it in along with God.

The thing that really bugs me about this is that all these fundies spout off over and over again how they need to trust the fathers to pick the husbands - that the fathers will ask the "hard questions," that they should be the sole keepers of their daughters' purity (ick) because only they should be entrusted with such a burden. And while I think that entire concept is repulsive, a distilled version exists in mainstream society - the dad with the shotgun, daddy's little girl, the dad as the protector - the fundies just turn it up to 11, or so they say, so that a lot of mainstream people might say, "Well, that's a little extreme, but their hearts are in the right place." But here, we now know exactly what matters to Pa Keller - "Will you refuse to limit the number of your offspring" and "Will you let my daughter control your internet use so you don't look at porn." That's IT. It's not a surprise, but having it blatantly laid out there still infuriates me anew.

Looks like Josh and some of the sisters are going and playing. they bought a used cello at a pawn shop because they couldn't get their shipped down to FL fast enough. That's what he said on an instagram.
