Yet another man telling women how to dress

It's the closest thing to porn he's got.

Seriously. And how a man is always wondering what's under that next button or under that armhole or whatever...grooooossss.

I also LOVE how he basically says anyone wearing anything that hugs the hips is a hooker. And his whole big butt thing...does it have racial overtones to anyone else? You know, the whole "black booty" thing/women of color are inherently loose sort of thing? Exoticization with echos of the Sara Baartman case. How charming.

What I will never get is how these morons can consider a slit immodest but sitting in church thinking of shoving your hand down a "sister in Christ's" underwear is not.

One man said to one of the elders, “I saw a woman bend over. I could see the top of her panties and I wondered what it would be like to put my hand down her back.†This was a godly young man, passionate to be holy, who was caused to stumble in this church.

Beyond the absolute asshattery of the whole thing...how would anyone actually be able to help the top of their underwear showing when they bent over unless they're wearing a full-on frumper? You could have on a floor-length skirt and a baggy top and they could still split apart enough to see the top of your underwear. Besides that, if seeing the band of some SAHD's granny panties sends you into a frenzy of lust, you have way bigger issues than "stumbling" over someone else's modesty.

It's a sermon from 2008, when the congregation may have had clothes from the unfortunate low-waist meets short top era of fashion. If you have a longer top or cami, it's not really an issue.

I'm also guessing that the stumbling thoughts may have come from seeing a peek of a thong, not granny panties. Not a great look for church, but not as gross as this preacher's description of it.

Honestly, if my BF said my skirt slit was too short, I'd probably take notice and at least check it. Only because his philosophy is that a skirt is never too short, nor a shirt too low cut. I'm usually the one to police myself. I'll put something on and say...oh that not something I want to wear in public. He always asks me why not :) If he were to actually say that a skirt was too short, I'd probably assume everything was hanging out. (I also probably would never have put it on in the first place, as I'm not comfortable with that)

ETA: Of course my BF isn't some kind of controlling jerk, and would let me walk out of the house in any length of skirt I liked without questioning me.

On New Year's Eve, we went out to dinner and I wore a dress that reaches my knees, but barely. I mentioned that when it is time to get a new black dress, I should get something longer. My husband's response? Why? I fretted about showing too much leg (that dress is the only one I have that doesn't at least reach the bottom of my knees-most of my skirts and dresses are ankle length), and he just laughed - "Is that really a concern when you're out with your husband???" I fretted about other people and muttered something about feeling naked and he just pulled me out the door and told me not to worry. Of course, he thinks my fat self is sexy even at 50 pounds overweight! I love that man!
