good wedding gift for amish couples?

Speaking as someone with an Amish background, I say you can't go wrong with a beautiful serving dish, set of water glasses, or other household item that is both useful and attractive. Typically china/ceramic/glass dishes are some of the few decorative items permitted in an Amish home (of course, this varies from community to community).

At the same time the gift card suggestions would be nice too. IMO, there is usually more latitude for accepting "fancy" gifts than there would be for buying the same thing for oneself so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I would suggest plants for their garden (roses?) or a serving dish. A set of water glasses would also be nice, or perhaps kitchen towels.

OK this may sound weird but this is my universal wedding gift, postage stamps!

Everyone can use them, plus they will be writing a bunch of "Thank You" cards. Also, its fitting for the Amish, if the still write letters to family and friends. Stamps are a great bridal shower gift too, the postage you spend for a wedding adds up to a small fortune.

I agree with the Mason jars. Don't forget the lids and rings.

Heck, that's a great gift for anyone who has a vegetable garden!
