By the older Duggar daughters saying that they love having new babies around the house because they're like 'real, living dolls to play with?' For one thing, they are children, not toys, though I guess they stop being important by the time they can walk in that house, and furthermore, the girls saying this are in their late teens. They are talking as if they are children. It is not healthy to still be playing with dolls at that age and in beyond unhealthy to see their siblings in that light. I guess they were never allowed dollies as children and, as they have never been allowed to grow up yet curiously have been given adult responsibilities since a ridiculously young age, they see their little sisters as fulfilling that. That, or Jim Bob/Michelle threatened them by saying that they couldn't say anything negative about having to raise their little brothers or sisters and they came out with a poor choice of words. Still, I thought it was very telling.

Fundies tend to make a big deal about how their children love to spend all their time together, even though they usually span a wide range of ages. They take this as a positive but I see it as being a little worrisome. I have no problem with a 15 year old who likes to hang out around and play with their younger sibling but it's weird when it's all the time. What appeals to a young child isn't going to stimulate the interest of a teenager. That's why a lot of young SAHMs have outside hobbies- they need more interaction than what they get from being with a baby 24/7.

I think it shows how stunted isolated children like the Duggars are.

I have to give them a pass here and blame it on their parents. The kids, especially the older ones that got plenty of "training" know that they need to parrot whatever their parents tell them. They also don't know any different and probably feel like they have to be optimistic and make the most of the life they have. And Michelle only thinks of her babies as toys too, so they probably learned it from her.

However, there was one fundie blogger who said she was going to save money by just buying absolutely no toys. Live babies would be dolls for her kids. I can't remember who said that though.

Has anybody ever heard of MK ultra? People don't talk about it a lot but MK ultra is a CIA mind programming where they traumatize the children and compartmentalize their brains splitting their personalities into many because one personality cannot handle the trauma it goes through. And as for Munchausen Duggar... She gives me ideas for a psycho-thriller movie script. I think this is a marriage of 2 monsters and good lord knows what they do amongst them.

I think that the kids are either like Jill or Joshie Pig... playing their roles perfectly OR they are so traumatized that they'll never recover and never tell.

My not too far fetched opinion is that we are going to see suicides in the future. Not tomorrow but some of them will end their lives since there is no way out for them even though me and my husband would HIDE any of them and start them off in life with money and I don't think we are the only ones out there. I WISH the kids knew it somehow. Anyone of them could stay with us whichever wanted to save their ass and run away.

I see that that suicide could be a possibility, but I don't think those who are completely brainwashed will attempt it (it's a sin for Quiverfull folks, isn't it?). No going against the grain even in that way.

I can't help but hope that some of the older still-not-brainwashed kids (I'm thinking Josiah, Jinger, and Joy, at least) will at least know that help is there if they want it. I read somewhere (TWOP, maybe) that Oprah had offered to send all the girls who wanted to go to midwifery (?) school, and although the dweeb parents declined the offer (no doubt to avoid losing their unpaid labor force), it did at least give the kids the chance to know that people out there do care, and that there are opportunities and resources available if they want to leave. I know brainwashing is a very strong deterrent, but I do see sparks of defiance against it in both the older kids I mentioned who could leave now or very soon, and in Johannah and maybe Jackson as well. So I don't think JB and M have managed to brainwash *everyone.*

I think its telling of both their upbringing in a cult as well as the fact that these kids are so sheltered that they would still be extremely immature for their age and consider babies to be dolls. They haven't been exposed to what normal kids have been exposed to and therefore they haven't 'grown up'.

This is called... CONDITIONAL LOVE. Conditional love isn't love, it just means, they conditionally accept!!!! the person AS LONG AS!!!!! It's like this in most families unfortunately. Children with thoughts, wits, wings, desires are mostly tormented.

I'm a 50 yo grandma and I think of all little babies as dolls and LOVE to play with them. lol. Of course, once they start crying they go back to mama.
