Stuff the Duggar kids would like in the non-fundie world...

If the Duggar kids were allowed to wholly participate in the real world "(ie watch cable television, use an un-Fundie filtered internet, dance, swim, listen to popular music), I wonder what they would enjoy???

John-David: "American Choppers" and "Larry The Cable Guy" (gearhead shows and redneck humour I think he appreciates as he once made a "well, it is Arkansas" incest joke)

Jill: "Greys Anatomy" (medicine coupled with affairs of the heart)

Joy-Anna: afterschool soccer, lacrosse, volleyball

Jana: Adele

Jed: Star Wars...he strikes me as a "kewl geek" if given the opportunity

Care to add??

Johannah and Jackson: Non fundie cartoons. I can see them enjoying a lot of cartoons on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network.

Older J'Slaves-Country music

The older girls would all be cheerleaders and have huge social lives.

The younger kids would be hooked on iCarly.

Joy would be in a Goth phase and beg shamelessly for Hot Topic gift cards every birthday and holiday.

Jinger seems like she would like competitive reality shows - a la Survivor or Amazing Race. She's sporty....

Joy-Anna would be all over Taylor Swift...and maybe even The Biebs....

See I would peg Jinger as the Goth.

I think Jennifer might enjoy the ordinary round of a worldly four-year-old's day.

Sunday: Sunday school! Sing, listen to stories, make art, and help prepare a snack. Dress up as a sheep or angel for the Christmas pageant.

Monday: Music With Mar. This is supposed to give kids a developmental leg up with carefully structured music/dance sequences. Whatever. It's fun.

Tuesday: Storytime at the babies' and maternity supply store, with a craft and a snack.

Wednesday: Storytime at the wildlife refuge visitor center, minus the snack but with the chance to touch a real bearskin or what have you.

Thursday: Storytime and craft at the library and picking out a book and a DVD afterward.

Friday and Saturday: Mess around outdoors if weather permits or go to the fisheries management center's touch tank on Friday and open swim at the city pool on Saturday.

Every day: Have the attention of an actual adult who knows her name.

I can see some of the older kids possibly liking The Hunger Games books or maybe the J'Slaves would read more classics and some fun books by authors like Charlaine Harris, maybe they would like True Blood.

I dont see Joy as a goth, I think she would be the sporty tomboy who lives in basketball shorts and Nike shirts. (nike as in the sports clothes, not shirts that would make the Duggars say nike.)

I pegged Joy as a goth because she is at 'that age' and seems moody.

I bet Jill would be a Twi-Hard and go to sleep in her Team Edward Jammies after kissing her Robert Pattinson poster goodnight.

Long time lurker; but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to create my Duggar Utopia!!

Jana and the other J'slaves can FINALLY email/talk/phone guys without JimBob hovering over the shoulder.

One-on-one dates.

Joy, Jessa, and Jinger could experience the liberty of pants (though, I'm pretty sure Jill and Jana are set in their ways). And regular bathing suits? Or just basketball shorts and a T-shirt... Anything other than those frumpy suits.

Joy playing sports! Joy not having to worry about her future, just because another sibling is born.

ALL the kids would like the Natural Science museum in Washington D.C. There's a huge skeletal selection, and it talks about, *gasp*, EVOLUTION.

Johanna would like to continue playing with Jackson, without future sexual sterotypes prohibiting her to do so.

A decent education.

Parents who care.

I'd take them all to the beach and let them wear whatever they wanted to swim in. If they wanted to continue to wear their modest suits, so be it. But if one of the older girls felt like breaking out a tankini (or even a string bikini--the scandal!), they'd get no judgement from me. And I'd let the toddlers run nekkid ass nekkid on the beach, because toddlers seem to enjoy being nekkid ass nekkid (well, mine did).

I see Jedidiah wearing black eyeliner and black clothes. Because he'd reason teenage girls will be into guys who wear that.

I could see Jinger as the alternative girl. Hopefully not a Juggalo :o

Jill would be into science instead of being a nurse.

Jessa would be the mean girl. Possibly a cheerleader.

Joy would be smart. All A's. And she'd be on several sport teams.

I cant picture Josh as anything other than the wannabe Kirk Cameron he already is.

John David and Joseph would definitely be the "country boys". Rednecks possibly.

Josiah would be sort of outgoing. But theres that side of him that makes me feel like he'd still end up with emotional issues. Possibly struggling with depression.

Jana...she'd be a mom. Married to a man she actually loves. Happy living a frugal,Christian but modern lifestyle.

The others are too young to really tell.

Smuggar: Ummm... PORN? Need I say more?

JD: I think he would be into Nascar, country music, Lynyrd Skynyrd and perhaps some Nickleback too. I think he would love to watch Larry the Cable Guy and Eastbound and Down type of shows. I think he would also like the show Mythbusters.

Jana: I think she would like more intellectual pursuits. Lots of poetry, literature, and yes, I think even "normal/non fundy" Jana would like Classical music.

Jill: I can picture Jill being a straight A student who loves to read and is class president. I can almost picture her being earthy/crunchy. Almost.

Jessa: Total cheerleader type. I can picture her listening to Britney, Maroon 5 and maybe even some alternative rock while on her way to the mall to get her nails done. Her favorite store would be Abercrombie & Fitch. I can totally picture her having posters of guys on her wall like Taylor Lautner.

Jinger: Hmmm... I think she would love Twilight and Harry Potter. Rob Pattinson would be her celebrity crush. Her favorite store would be Hot Topic.

Josiah: I think Josiah would love Twitter and Facebook and his Iphone. He would love social networking .

Joy-Anna: I think Joy-Anna would be very sporty and love to play field hockey or soccer. In terms of music, I think she would like Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.

What do people do in the Sonoran desert? I've hiked the hikes I wanted to do. Seems like all that is left is golf, shopping at chains that exist everywhere, and stuff I've done. Oh and eating. I can only eat so many times a day. It's too cold to rent a paddleboard or swim.

First snow storm of the season hit today. It got windy tonight, and we lost power. Somehow this continues to be a shock to PSE. Why they refuse to upgrade the infrastructure or do something so that 10s of thousands of people don’t lose power and heat literally every time it’s windy, I do not understand. We live in the Pacific Northwest. It gets windy!

Nebraska's new football coach is an evangelical bullshit artist who participates in "Man Up Ministries" conferences in the off season. Their motto is "Fighting for Biblical Manhood". Excuse me while I go vomit.

      Long time no visit…
COVID has finally caught up with me. Dad tested positive first, last Friday, then my mother, brother and I all tested positive today. Main symptom is feeling really really tired. Hopefully it doesn’t get much worse 🤞

      Do I wear it?
i was given a vintage, 70 year old mink coat. It fits like it was made for me. Somehow my cousin, who is 8 years older than me came into 3 gorgeous fur coats from a granddaughter of a woman her mother knew. We’re talking women who died in the mid 60’s.  None of them would fit her or any other of the women in my family. Yay for essentially being a ball. Everyone else is about 5’7 or more and all outweigh me by 50+.

it is just gorgeous. What women in Skokie and Highland Park many years ago, when I still lived there would call a “serviceable” fur. It was the fur they’d wear to a good restaurant, but not the opera or symphony.
do I wear it? I’d love to, and I live in hunting country so fur isn’t looked down on. But is it wrong?  Arrrgh god its pretty.

A modern day love story: Guy reaches out to you, you think he's cute so you start talking to him, give him your number. Guy then messages if you're free, you reply yes, guy never responds again. Love that. 👌
