Regarding Memorial Service Post

If this is a totally unreasonable request, please tell me, but I was wondering if it would be possible for the mods to repost the Duggar Memorial Service post WITHOUT the pictures. I'd really love to read the comments and be part of this discussion, but I am not strong enough to read through that thread with the graphic photos. Also, big thanks to the original poster who gave us all a heads up about the content!

Chemist - if it helps, no one has quoted the photos - they still only appear at the top and bottom of page 1. You could jump in on the next.

I'm not familiar with this forum software but on some forums you can "block" hotlinked images from appearing in posts. I'll poke around the settings and if I find it I'll come back and tell you how to do it.

Aha!

In the blue bar under the banner click "user control panel" from there on the left hand side click "board preferences" and then "edit display options" after that in the middle box answer "no" to "Display images within posts".

The OP or a mod could also go back and put the images in spoiler tags.

True, but if someone is sensitive about pictures they might go ahead and change their settings to make things more comfortable to them.

Well, I'm of the opinion that if the person posting the pictures knows they should put a warning up, the should be able to figure out that spoiler tags would also be appropriate.

I posted it and honestly I don't know how to do the spoiler tags. If someone explains it to me though I'd be glad to do it.

I will say it is not a picture of a dead fetus. It is of just the feet and a hand. I myself have experienced 2 losses and it did not bother me. If there was an actual picture of a fetus it would though. Just wanted to tell you what exactly it was.

Agreed. However, I was talking about more than just this case. I wasn't clear there though. I often block hyperlinked images because they bother me. I was just trying to say if someone is often bothered by them (like MANY people are) then there are multiple ways to avoid them.

You put in the spoiler tags around the picture.

In the editor you type/edit in, there are the buttons above where you type. The next-to-last button is labeled 'spoiler'.

Go into your post to edit it. HIghlight the picture codes (all of it), then click that 'spoiler' button.

This:

[***spoiler] picture [****/spoiler]

will appear around the picture code (except without the ***).
