Head of NOM caught at Gingrich fundraiser

In case anyone doesn't know, NOM is short for National Organization for Marriage, which is a far right group that exists to "Protect marriage" from gay people.

Now why would the head of an organization that is supposed to protect marriage going to an event for a man, who has been married three times and the reason why his first two marriages failed was because he cheated on his wife and wanted to move on with his mistresses? ::SMH::

Absolutely. I am just glad no one is taking Michelle B. seriously any longer. This is going to be a very loooong election.

I think a lot of the social conservative Republicans are like that but the establishment Republicans want Romney. Though what sucks for the establishment Republicans is that it is typically social conservatives who vote in primaries while your pro-establishment Republicans, moderates and independents don't.

I think Romney is going to win the nomination. Newt has too much baggage. I would vote for Romney over Obama

the quote said that she was on her hospital bed, riddled with cancer. she obviously survived. just because someone is hospitalized with cancer doesn't mean that they're on their death bed.

The only way Romney wins is if more people who don't hate him for Romneycare and/or being Mormon turn out, which will be easier said than done in this toxic political environment and due to the fact that moderates and independents tend to skip primaries.

According to this Salon article she did have cancer when they separated and divorced. Apparently an old Mother Jones article reported he showed up at the hospital with legal papers for her to sign. His spokesperson says no.

Either way, this was a guy who tried to hound Clinton out of office, and wasn't exactly pure as the driven snow himself.

Ah, but he converted to Catholicism before marrying Calista, who is a devout Catholic who has been seen at Opus Dei fundraisers even.

So, wouldn't the church have annulled his previous marriages? Therefore, no adultery because he was never really married before!

My understanding is that his Catholic conversion occurred after his marriage to Calista. He did ask for an annulment of his 19 year marriage to his second wife on the grounds that she'd been previously married (as had he but that apparently wasn't at issue) but I don't know whether the annulment was granted.
