Absolutely heartbreaking! The child has an absolute right to practice any religion he wishes and to feel safe doing so. The teacher needs to either be fired or suspended and given more training. My mother is a retired teacher and it never would have occurred to her to question a child's religion or to try and bully them because of it. The school board needs to take drastic action against this sort of bullying behavior in an open manner.

I am starting to come to the conclusion that schools can do whatever the fuck they want and all that shit about free and appropriate education/separation of church and state/etc is just lip service.
