Yep, that's her.

It is going to be a hard shake for her. I actually do feel sorry for her, because I do have a farm that is rural and isolated, and I know firsthand how hard the winters can be. It's no joke when dusk starts hitting at 3 :30 PM, it's too dark to go out at 4 15, and you are trapped alone with energetic kids in a little house for the next 5 hours.

Add in farm chores- which for me is hauling water and hay, cleaning stalls, hanging clothes (which is SO Not Fun in the winter- think wet clothes, cold weather wind, knee deep in snow, and doing it for about 15 minutes!) THen consider the very real chore of snow removal- it is just not possible to do with a shovel after a heavy storm. You need heavy machinery with blades and plows. Then, you have to wait for the town plows to get the roads clear, which can take 3 days after a blizzard.

You have to really want to do this to be OK. It looks from her blog that this is a lark, a fall back plan, because the fancy big house fell through. That's like running a marathon because you couldn't finish a 10K.

I don't think I've ever known anyone as obsessed with dairy products as Mckmama. Every post of hers seems to be about milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt or kefir. I know they live on a "farm" now and have goats and chickens, but there's got to be more about farm life she can write about.

Is she the lady who tries to attract porn viewers to her site through keyword and stuff?

Yes. That's why I commented on her questionable photos of her children. She claims she is "documenting their childhood", while photographing them shirtless and in the bath. Is it normal to take these sorts of pics of your children? It sure is, but the pictures should not be online with provocative tags like "shirtless children", which are obviously there to entice a certain *ahem* demographic.

This is one of the things about her that really turned me off. She can play her fantasy life all she likes, but it gets dangerous, for me, when she exploits her adorable children. And her many crises, real or imagined.

Since we're talking about Mckmama.... is there a farm-person on here that can answer a question? Mckmama keeps referring to the roosters that they "harvested". I'm urban to the core, so I know I know nothing about this, but I have never heard of killing a chicken being referred to as "harvesting". Isn't it "butchering" or something?

She recently posted a Petunia Picklebottome Ergo baby carrier giveaway...I didn't see any disclosure about sponsorship, so either she's breaking those rules or she's buying super expensive baby carriers - two of them - one for her and one for a reader. Which makes no sense when you just declared bankruptcy and don't have a working toilet.

Yes, I have NEVER heard anyone call it harvesting. it's butchering or killing, or at the most poetic, "putting them in the freezer."I killed 3 roosters last weekend myself. Bloody business and plucking sucks. As does running your fingers up and down thru the body cavity to remove all the lung pieces. Ish. And wet feathers. It's a messy messy business.

Yeah- usually processing, butchering or killing. Or "sending them to freezer camp."

And even without kids, I think my day is busier than hers, but I work full time and keep up a mini farm alone.

How do you know she tagged the post as shirtless children? When I looked the only labels I saw for that post was her name and the children's names.

If she did indeed do that, that is one of the most disgusting thing I've ever read. Why would you exploit your children like that? And to potential child pornographers/ molesters? Something is not right with that woman.

I haven't been a huge fan of MckMama, but I have read her blog off and on. I remember her hoighty toity (sp?) post about how her cat "chooses to breastfed and chooses to co-sleep." I.e. my cat is awesome because she knows how to be a good mama unlike you heathens that put your children in their cribs and bottle feed.

I'm sorry MckMama but your cat doesn't choose crap. It's animal instinct. Your cat does not know that it can put it's kittens in a crib or have them bottle fed. I know some animal do not equate to good parents, but come on. This cat is no exemplary genius for "choosing" these options.

She may not have done it on this post, but she has done it in the past. I don't really care enough to look through her site again to find this, but yes, it has happened. More than twice. I am sure it is documented on one of the MWOP sites.

Dairy

Nipple

Milking

Eggs

Pregnancy

Breastfeeding

Maybe is is not a really a "dairy" obsession but a strange version of Munchausen where you project lactation issues onto random farm animals?

In other words - Bitch is craZEEE

Homeschooling?

The morning lesson, I do something with the boys that they both can do. It usually involves copywork and a short phonic lesson or concept.

10:15 am The boys work independently and quietly on their task for about fifteen minutes.

Which one is it? "do something with the boys" or "The boys work independently and quietly on their task? " From this, I am assuming her "do[ing] something with the boys" involves her sitting and twittering, facebooking, moderating your comments and eating/drinking/placing on her body a Goats Milk product.

Now a morning project is about to happen(So, her children need a 45 minute break after "doing something" for 15 minutes?):

11:00 am We work on a morning project. A quick book about pilgrims and a paper Mayflower, a story about Christmas and a popsicle stick manger or a cute turkey craft is made.

11:20 amThe boys have tired of the project.

Wow. Twenty minutes! I find it intriguing that she let them go after twenty minutes of (possibly?) sitting in her presence but, when she sends them upstairs to play earlier, leaving her alone for a total of fourty five minutes... She told them they "had to wait five more minutes."

12:30 pmWe go to the table again for lunch.

Now. Between 11:20 and lunch at her children are watching a movie (from netflix(!)) This is fifty minutes of movie watching for all the kids. If we include the Dora Videos(Netflix of course(!)) that Small Fry, Stellan and Flurry(!!!) watch thats an additional fifty five minutes. So much for no TV. (oh, wait, right, It's not TV...it's Netflix!)

So her home-school kids have so far spent a total of thirty five minutes of being, erm, home-schooled but fifty minutes of watching TV(oops! Netflix). Let us not forget the fourty five minute "break" after "do[ing] something for fifteen minutes.

1:10 pm Big Mac works on a math worksheet independently, then joins us outside.

1:15 pm [big Mac]... play(s) outside.

Five minutes spent on "a math worksheet independently". Wow. Sure are dedicated to this education thing, aren't we?

3:15 pm The younger children have free play time while Big Mac and I work on a short school lesson. This time of day is very hard for us to get stuff done, but we try

Now, she doesn't say how "short" this lesson is. However, considering that between this time and the next posted time(3:30) Amazon comes, she wondera what she is going to do with the rest of her time and she prepares a snack; I doubt it's more than the five minutes Big Mac spend working on that "math sheet."

7:15 pm I work on a little bit of school with the oldest three now that the littlest ones are in bed. We play a little matching game with letter teams (like ch, gr, ea, sh and th).

Fifteen minutes doing "a little bit of school."

7:45 pm I work much more intensively with the boys on their phonics, grammar, reading and math. This is the learning time during the day that lasts the longest

"Homeschooling" has a total of fourty five minutes here since the final break occurs at 8:30.

Big Mac(at the most) spends an hour an fourty five minutes at "homeschool" Nuggy(at most) an hour and fourty.

Big Mac and Nuggy spend a total of fifty minutes watching TV(oops! Netflix) While Small Fry, Flurry and Stellan spend an hour and fourty five minutes watching TV(oops! Netflix).

This woman who breathlessly, proclaims to spend such "quality" and "connecting" time with her children, spends a total of two and a half hours of time with her children.

In this two and a half hour I have actually included snack time. I shouldn't have, as she most likely spens that time tweeting, facebooking, blogfrogging and blogging. However, considering how often she tweets, facebooks, blogfrogs and moderates comments I highly suspect thatbshe spends less then two hours with these kids

Thats right. A woman who claims to "spend all day" with her children "quality time" actually only spends two and a half hours with these very children. The rest of the time is spent with the children watching movies and "playing independently."

Yes she does (almost) all those things that are vital to keeping ones home in order. But she actually spend less time interacting with her children then a mother who sends her children to school. You also spend less time then the three moms I know who work outside of home.

What I also find boggling, is that she is always saying how "exhausting" and "difficult" it is to "run the  farm"

In her layout, she spends less than half an hour caring for these animals. Half an hour??

Half an hour to clean, milk, feed, water and collect eggs? What--does she time warp?

This post followed quickly by "the only other person that understands *clutches chest* what I go through...is the Apostle Peter" :

Big Mac is only 5? I had no idea. Since she has 5 kids, I figured that he was at least 7. Good grief, can you imagine a baby a year for 5 years?

Eta~ I just looked at her site. The kids profiles are outdated. They are older now. I think he's probably 7

Big Mac is 7, and supposedly just short of being an expert in mathematics according to his mother....

She's indirectly plugging a website that has advertised with her in the past. She frequently mentions their goat milk soap, lip balm, laundry detergent, ad nauseum.

I remember discussing this is my meat science class in college and I was taught that "butchering" is simply cutting up the animal. "Harvesting" wold be killing it, removing feathers and other unsavory bits, taking out organs, etc.

Wow that is REALLY messed up! My MIL got really concerned when I posted on facebook a head shot (you couldn't see anything bellow the shoulders) of my son during his first bath. And if she's tagging them to attract readers then she is seriously one of the sickest women we talk about!

Yeah sorry about that. I thought he was younger, but I don't read her that often any longer (not since the last time Stellan was in the hospital and she was posting pics of her son "dying" twitter).
