Oh, indeed not. Never did I mean it as a reason not to get vaccinated. Just giving my own commentary on my experience is all.

No, I did not think you did. Just flagged one of my pet peeves, ha!

I remember feeling pretty miserable when I had the chicken pox (I was about 6-7 or so). I was itchy, running a high fever, I remember having a terrible sore throat, a headache and all sorts of other general yuckiness like nausea. Ugh.

I know that stroke risk is pretty high amongst children with chicken pox. Scary!

I had a friend who got it as an adult though, and it was horrible. It also resulted in some rather bad permanent scarring.

Deleted because it was a bit O/T, on reflection.

OMG, I'm p8712 on TWOP. Thanks for transplanting my thread. I'm still trying to pick my best worst moments. Grandpa's &Josie's suffering, the bizarre response to Jason's injury, and the whole 'Josh can finally move out and get laid, we bought him a wife!' marriage episodes are all up there.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the creation museum or Kirk Cameron. There really is a creator!!!!111one!!

Plus, we've seen Johanna, Jennifer, Jordyn, and now Josie all jettisoned by Michelle on camera. Not any specific moment, but you can obviously see the new wear off in Michelle's black heart.

ETA:

Dawniecakes, will you marry me? Assuming you're a frumper-wearing, patriarchy-loving, 20 year old with an intact hymen, of course. Your picture is so made of win.

I should have known you were one in the same! Paulie Fowler at your service.

As for worst moments? Y'all have the best stuff covered, but since I can find just about anything lame thing they do snarkworthy or hypocritical, I'll just go with "all of it."

But Grandpa and Josie were exploited and Jason humilated with his dumbass Scarlett O'Hara-esque mother smiling for her next close up while one of her litter (probably didn't even know which one) was being wheeled into the ER with a broken jaw.

Fuck Michelle Duggar and her Legoman husband. I'm glad Sean and the editors are editing in their most cringeworthy moments in hopes of saving ratings since I'd wager the majority of people watching that trainwreck are fellow snarkers. Hell, they didn't even make 1.2MM last week...during SWEEPS. I don't see this going on for much longer, although there's evidence the crew was taping at that booksigning in Branson last weekend.

Jackson too. The first time the show was aired they didn't censor out his boy parts either, which I found odd. No modesty for you, Jackson!

My parents are totally pro-vax and I didn't even know there was a chicken pox vaccine! No one I know has had it, and I don't think it's available on public healthcare. I don't think it's normally dangerous for very small children, either. My sister had it at 11 months and my mother threw a chicken-pox party for all her little friends. They were all fine.

Pretty much what everyone else has already said but I would like to add:

When Boob referred to the Thames as "the big river"

The Duggars eating at the Ethiopian restaurant and at the British pub.

Still claiming to buy use and save the difference

Giving out the Tater Tot casserole recipe

Re: Chicken Pox Vax, the younger kids all would've been immune since in many/most school districts its mandatory. Watching my 73 yr old father get shingles got me interested in the vaccine. Shingles is something everyone should try to avoid, dumb ass JB.

OH - The absolute crowning moment of suck WILL BE J'20. It either will end in death/severe disease for Michelle or the baby, possibly both. Of course, everything could go perfectly fine, in which case the smugness of the ultimate victory lap will be too much to bear, even for snarkers. I'm hoping that that crappy ratings lead to the show getting canceled before the birth. The last episode will feature JB's reaction to this news, natch.

Anna giving birth on the toilet;

Josh taking a nap while Anna was in active labor;

Wheeling out Grandpa Duggar in his final moments for a "party";

Josie's birth;

Jim Bob ignoring Michelle to talk to the cameras during Josie's birth;

Ethiopian restaurant;

Jim Bob yelling "gringos!" over the hills in El Salvador;

Any time they try to play the violin;

Michelle stating that she could tell when Josie was hungry like it was some kind of miracle;

Michelle smiling while Jason was being wheeled to the ER on a stretcher;

Serving TTC on paper plates to Dr. Stanley;

Jessa stating that the Duggar girls could do anything in flip-flops;

Michelle stating that god gave her the four oldest girls in order to help out with the rest of the family;

Pretending to buy used and saving the difference while Jana packs John-David's suitcase by ripping the tags off of new pants;

Going to Nashville after a natural disaster to get a good price on a reposessed bus;

Michelle saying that Jill is such a great cook, then the camera cutting to her putting slices of processed cheese on bread;

Michelle's "modesty" speech in the NICU;

It never ends ...

Oh yeah, also the episodes where they went to public schools to lecture kids but were hilariously caught off-gaurd with "gotcha" questions like favorite books.

And the weirdly immature answers about pillow fighting and kissing brothers.

A definite low point would have to be in Scotland when Jim Bob asked a man about his religion and when he said he didn't believe in God Jim Bob claimed God must exist because of our distance from the Sun.

I knew when I heard about their "world tour" he would have an ugly American moment.

All of the moments mentioned above, as well as watching Boob unclog a nasty toilet. Ugh.

Somehow I have a feeling we'll be adding a whole bunch of new ones after the Israel episode...

There's no doubt in my mind you are correct....

How about JimBoob handing out family photos to cab drivers in New York? and to passing strangers? Did he seriously belive they'de frame it or something?

My worst bits:

The whole "Nike" business

Michelles high pitch baby voice (not an incident but makes it even more unwatchable)

The opening (original) -"we don't have a TV......"

Jackson going missing at the airport and non-one noticing

Michelle trying to put tight flowers on Josies head when she is already covered in tubes and likely in pain

That damn breast feeding cover sheet thing being used while it school and Jordyns feet dangling from it

Going to the school - and basically laughing at the Rise and Shine routine

Posted

How about when Jackson started dancing to the toy at the baby shop when Michelle and Boob were shopping for Jordan's new bedding prior to her birth, and Michelle tried to explain away that he was not really dancing... WHATEVZ!

The hooter-hider is pretty annoying. Anna even has a junior hooter-hider so baby Mac can pretend to feed her doll while Anna feeds Michael.

I have to say Grandpa being wheeled out, Josie in the NICU, Anna giving birth on a toliet, Jackson going missing in the airport, Jason's accident and any scene involving puking.

OT I used a breastfeeding cover when my son was a newborn. It stayed up easier then a blanket and while I was still getting the hang of it I was nervous about flashing everyone or getting rude comments from random strangers.

Agree with all of the above.

Plus - the birthday party for Justin? or whoever it was where they make it clear that they were too busy to have a party on his actual b-day, so he had to share with Jackson, then the party involved them going to the bike store to get bikes, but at the bike store JB decided to shop for a bike for Grandma instead (which she didn't really want), and spent most of the time on that while the boys waited patiently. Finally just before closing the boys got to spend 5 minutes looking for bikes. Way to make it clear to a little boy "you're not important in this family".

Expanding on the birthday theme:

-Poor Johanna having to share a party with Mackenzie and getting no attention or special treatment. They kept saying "and Hannie". It was clear she was an after thought.

-Joy's poor excuse for a birthday party that consisted of a train ride and ice cream on the go. They just shoved her party into an already full day as if it was no big deal. If I recall it was her 13th , which is kind of a milestone for any child. They should have given her something more special.

-Joy's previous birthday where they just walked into a cake shop and picked one up last minute saying "flavour didn't matter" as long as there was enough. I mean, I get there's like a gajillion of them but couldn't they have thought ahead and maybe ordered with flavours in mind or bought Joy a small cake for herself in a flavour of her choosing? It's not that hard to call a cake place ahead of time.

-Jed (or maybe Jer)'s birthday celebration which consisted of buying a chess set which Jinger. And nothing else.

-Who was it of Jim Bob took shopping in the hospital gift shop? Was that Jed as well? Whoever it was, it was sad to watch. Yes she had a gravely ill baby, but she could have left for an hour or two to give the other child some deserved attention.

"Just another day in the Engvall family"

"It's my birthday!"

"Tappy Birthday!"

Sadly, when I think of this scene, I dont see the actor that portrays JB... I see the Boob himself.

I don't remember the hospital gift shop kid but it wasn't Jed or Jer.

The hooter hider isn't annoying in and of itself, its when Michelle walks around wearing it, with the MyBreastFriend nursing pillow strapped around her stomach and some poor kid's legs dangling limply off it, and there's Michelle chatting away....that's when its annoying! Just nurse the kid in an Ergo like a normal person!

Posted

Didn't you know, 'normal' isn't 'godly'. No True Christian can be normal, that'd be being friends with the world doncha know.

I haven't read the replies yet so going on gut:

grandpa's birthday and funeral as absolute low point

DimBob buying undies for the "world tour" *shudder*
