Latkes (potato pancakes for the rest of us) are yummy. I have skinned many a knuckle grating taters for that.

Yeah they're a total pain in the ass to make, peeling pounds of potatoes and then grating them, and then frying them in a ton of oil lots of postkying but the outcome is so freaking yummy. Last year I farmed out the peeling work to my husband and sister in law, who complained but then ate plenty of latkes.
