Sorry, that Hayley grates my nerves. I should be more sympathetic,  at her age I was obnoxius too, but once I had to rush to the hospital with hard stomach pain and the last I wanted was posing in a bathroom wearing tight jeans.

Last time I went to the ER I barely wore a bra. Jeans were definitely out of the equation.

The cruise the Bontragers are going to perform on is fascinating.  How many Plattdeutsch-speaking Anabaptists in the Americas can there be that are liberal enough (and wealthy enough) to go on such a cruise? They must occupy a small part of the ship. Won't there be hussies in bikinis all over the ship?

It might be ok. There are Alaskan cruises and it’s not tropical. I personally would enjoy a cruise in hot weather and a beach. But maybe there are lots of things to do on the ship and ports. Non beach related.

It's my understanding that unlike in the USA and Canada, where mainstream Mennonites, and even most conservative (as opposed to Old Order) Mennonites, have given up their traditional dialects in favour of English, in Latin America, many mainstream Mennonites have continued to maintain the use of Plautdietsch.  Possible reasons could be the influence of the colony settlement system leading to more homogenous Mennonite communities, or greater cultural differences between Mennonites and local populations than in North America.

It’s been a hot minute since Hayley posted anything about Carver on her instagram, or for that matter anything at all. Not a complaint just an observation that she’s less active on the socials at the moment. Hopefully she’s not sick (though if she was we’d probably see a hospital pic or 2)
