Bates 33: More of the Same, Beige, Greige, Muted, and Washed Out

Watching BUB, my guilty pleasure when I'm alone, got me thinking about the girls' courtships. We didn't see much of Erin and Alyssa other than flashbacks, but among the other girls (Michaela, Tori, Josie, Carlin, Katie), Josie really stood out. She and Kelton seemed very serious, focused, and adult, even though she was sooooo fucking young. The others frequently seemed like addled idiots, to the extent that they reminded me of my young cat rolling around on the floor like a fool. I hate their beliefs, but I think Josie and Kelton have the best chance at a successful relationship.

Yes, but Kelton asked Gil to court Josie when she was very young and Gil told him to wait. He apparently had some girlfriend on between but was kinda obsessed with Josie. I know he looks like a decent husband, but I have the feeling that Josie had not option to choose another boy, plus she was as desperate as Alyssa to move, so she "got lemons and made lemonade". But it's speculation on my part.

I didn't know about the inbetween girlfriend, and I definitely believe that Josie was desperate to escape the house. But at least the 2 of them both had plans, jobs, and (potentially) options. Michaela, Tori, Carlin, and Katie just seemed like besotted fools. Which to be fair is totally on Gil and Kelly.

One of my favorite things about BUB was the occasional appearance of Kelly's mother, who seemed to always float around in a state of pharmaceutical-grade bliss. Whatever she had, I want it.

do you really think it the difference will eat into their profits so much 

Maybe the men folk will have to return to other employment as it may not sustain both in the couples

I haven't looked at the BSB website lately so I checked it out. Their stuff isn't very cheap price wise. I don't know who's buying this crap now, but the store does appear successful. I don't see a lot of people still buying much if the prices increase. I noticed they don't have much for the holiday season.

And most of the merch is pretty boring (other than the orange TN Vols dress that stands out like a coed call girl in a Bates-led church). What's supposed to differentiate their boutique, other than being owned by pretty, D-list fundies?

Carlin and Whitney (?) were wearing knee high boots recently, those were absolutely giving “Pretty Woman” vibes. Carlin’s were white. I guess they’ve grown up too sheltered to even realize.

I don’t mean to shame any woman for what they wear - you do you! But the hypocrisy of pushing “modest dress” and then wearing mini skirts with white knee high boots. Just, wow.
