Convicted sex offender in OK murders 6 and kills self but LE quits investigating after 2 days

The more you read about it, the worse this case gets. It started with an APB for 2 missing teenage girls and sadly turned into the discovery of seven dead bodies. The apparent perpetrator was convicted and registered sex offender Jesse McFadden who was scheduled to be in court for a hearing on charges for more sex crimes the day the APB was put out:

McFadden had been scheduled to appear in court Monday for the start of a jury trial on charges of soliciting sexual conduct with a minor and possession of child pornography. Court records show he was communicating with a then-16-year-old girl using a contraband cellphone while he was incarcerated at a state prison near Muskogee

He had married a woman with 3 minor children in 2021 who were among the 6 murder victims. According to her family, she did not know about his history nor did her family until a few months ago. When this much information became public, I wondered: Why was this guy roaming around free as a bird? How on earth was he allowed to reside with minor children? Where was LE in this situation *before* the murders?

Less than a week later, LE "finished" their investigation and released the crime scene. The owner of the home where the murders occurred allowed the victimsʻ family members and local news to enter it. To their shock and horror, they documented a ton of evidence left behind by LE, apparently unanalyzed:

In the corner of the room, there were desktop monitors and a computer tower still hooked up to it. Two additional computer towers and four desktop monitors were found throughout the house....

There were also two laptops found in the same cabinet as the [victimsʻ] cell phones.

 

The resulting outcry from this caused the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to step back in and re-process the crime scenes. An attorney for one of the families has confirmed this. 

What the fuck is going on? Even if further investigation can't provide a complete answer to why & how this happened, given that McFadden was already up on more charges of possession of CSAM why didn't LE collect that evidence for analysis?

Well exactly.  There is likely so much more evidence of other crimes and likely other victims.  Fortunately, this guy knew he was too evil to continue walking on the face of the earth, but still.

The video of the walk through is something else.  There are eye bolts attached to a bed frame and there is other evidence of bondage equipment.  Some of the victims are the perp's step-daughter's friends that were spending the night. No one knew the truth about the stepfather. One of those victim's families have apparently been told by LE but not confirmed by the ME that their daughter was raped before she was killed.  They are scared that the perp videoed the attack of their daughter and they can't imagine why LE didn't confiscate all electronic equipment.  The local LE was basically like "hey perp is dead. nothing to investigate. nothing to see or do. move on." 

Just crazy.

"Holly's ex told me … he thinks that Holly found out that [McFadden] might have been molesting one of the kids and just, he flipped," Strong said. "We don't know, but I think it might have had something maybe to do with that, something about his trial coming up, because what he screenshotted and what Jesse texted and said to [the 2016 victim] was, and I quote, ‘This is all going to be on you.’"

 

He was also a Klan member. Then, there is his brother (CW for description of abuse).

Between this story and the other story from Oklahoma where the small town newspaper secretly recorded a meeting between county officials.  The recording has the officials including the sheriff talking about killing the reporter, they know how to get rid of bodies, very racist comments, just awful things.  The little newspaper doesn't even have an online presence and had to rely on new stations spreading the news.

This is a rage-inducing case for me. 

Oklahoma has the second-highest per capita incarceration rates for WOMEN in the US, mostly due to to nonviolent drug offenses. Dontgetmegoing on the downstream effects this has on children and communities.

Yet, this guy was released from prison while engaging in behavior that should have resulted in second (third, fourth, five) felony charges. 

There are sex offenders and then there are Sex Offenders. This guy was super high risk and the only way that could have been missed is either gross negligence or corruption.

While there don't seem to be many signs of intelligent life in the local LE ranks I would NOT be surprised to learn that this guy had connections of some kind to one or more local LEOs. This could explain why: (1) he was allowed to be out & about in the community with no supervision; (2) marry a woman with minor children that then resided in the same home apparently *with no oversight*; (3) said LE agencies then "forgot" to collect cell phones, computers, hard drives, and similar materials when processing the crime scene(s).
