Hopefully, they’ll get the fuck out of fundie land and be taken in by a sympathetic heathen who doesn’t define them by their father’s crimes and encourages them towards secular counselling. And then they’ll cut off both their parents for the sake of their own mental health. Sadly I doubt all will make it out, but I really really hope some do. Other fundies aren’t going to let those kids forget the “sins of the father” and will expect it to become part of their testimony.

No indeed, other fundies will not let them forget what their dad did. Sadly, their trauma will be further used to suit other’s agenda in the future.

Katie Joy, WOACB, is saying Josh was caught with a cell phone and is "in the SHU (special housing unit)", allegedly (as she often says)

It wouldn’t shock me but I’m going to need more than WOACB.

@Father Son Holy Goat lol...I totally agree with you. Just an interesting tidbit to think about.

I could totally see Josh disregarding the rules because they don’t apply to him and getting a cell phone.

If this is true, I hope it is a wake up call for Anna. If Josh is getting sent to the prison within a prison he isn’t going to change. Not even prison can get him to behave himself.

Anna will likely say Smuggar was framed by the guard who allegedly gave him the phone.

There was an old Josh who lived in a shoe he had so many children he didn't know what to do so he looked at some porn and got him in jail and still waiting for someone to get him his bail.........

If the story is true and Josh is willing to boldly break rules after being in Seagoville for only about seven or eight months, my guess is he'll continue trying to smuggle in contraband, or at least be willing to buy things other inmates have snuck in. At some point he may end up doing even more time. For now I'm just enjoying the thought of him spending 30 days in the hole (or "the shoe" as they call in it Seagoville).

Spoiler

The SHU - Special Housing Unit.  I also appreciate the loss of good time credits.  He may end up serving the full sentence plus.  :character-bart:

I’m not in favor of solitary confinement for any prisoner. It makes people lose their minds. I understand it’s prison, I understand there need to be consequences for breaking rules, but IMO, solitary, at least lasting more than a couple days,  should be off the table .

While I agree that prisoners should not spend long periods of time in solitary, I have no problem with a 30 day "break" when contraband is found. Aside from adding time to the sentence, there isn't much else that can be done to prevent major rule breaking and make prisoners think twice next time. But what Josh really should be worried about his being sent to a medium security prison where overall conditions would likely be much tougher.

Of course, this all assumes Katie Joy has good intel, so many grains of salt.

Having a cell phone is pretty common in prisons. My cousin has been in higher security prisons than Josh for over 15 years now, but he's had a cell off and on most of this time. They aren't hard to get.

The SHU is not solitary confinement, and inmates are not housed there for punitive reasons.

According to Katie Joy's alleged source, Josh was placed there for disciplinary reasons.  The BOP page says "Inmates may be placed in SHU for Administrative Detention or for Disciplinary Segregation."

https://www.bop.gov/about/statistics/statistics_inmate_shu.jsp#:~:text=Inmates may be placed in,Housing Units for more information).

Isn’t one of his conditions no ownership of a cellphone?

He can't have any device that connects to the internet or has photo storage capabilities. So he could have an old school cell phone to use for texting and calling.

My son has been in higher security prison, too. Never had a cell phone. Not even "just" in the county lockup. Point is, they may be easy to get, but they ain't supposed to be got!

It became such a problem that there is even a federal law that says no cell phones for inmates at federal prisons.  So Josh, if the story is true, broke another federal law.  That's one reason the consequences can so serious.
