Or they are sick and tired of telling him what the doctors think and want HIM to hear it straight from the source so he and Kelly finally accept it is “in her head and very much real”

It is possible that I am projecting here, but I recently had a medical issue and I am not sure my partner would have trusted that I asked all relevant questions if he hadn’t spoken with the neurologist himself. 🤦‍♀️

I would think this option with most other people. I have a chronic condition and my family don't really believe it.

But I think they've shown a pattern of denial on psychological issues (praying away depression) and have never mentioned this as one of the possible diagnoses. So I tend to lean towards they don't believe it's real themselves.

Also. Google.

We want to.believe they're so sheltered but they're not so sheltered that they can't Google how to Instagram, YouTube, do sponsorships, and buy inventory from China!

Took me less than 5 minutes to find detailed charts comparing epilepsy vs pnes. There's videos online comparing. Lengthy discussions that all came up easily.

ISB. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s been told it’s probably pnes and none of them - Carlin included - believe that’s a real thing. Maybe they brought Gil along to convince the doctors the doctors are wrong.

I go to the doctor with all family and friends that request it.  I ask them to speak to me using their normal medical jargon and that I will request clarification if I'm not following.  Then I can help translate for the patient and let them bounce questions off of me (or pass along if I don't readily know the answers).  There is something about being able to ask those questions from someone you're comfortable with, even if the doctor might be able to explain to your level.  Being involved like this is so helpful for me, too, because I feel like I'm DOING something instead of just wringing my hands and waiting.  I hope Gil or anyone is able to provide this service for Carlin & Evan.  I know he's not medical, but instead of the information just washing over them this allows someone else to digest it for them.

Unless he's there to insist the doctors are wrong and Carlin needs to pray more, I guess.

I struggle to see Gil in a role of concerned parent carefully listening to medical information and asking thoughtful follow up questions.

But hey anything's possible

Carlin set up a guest bed in Zade’s nursery. I wonder how that will work when he’s sleeping in there? I was also surprised that she went with a bed skirt that lays across the floor with two young kiddos in the house

That bed skirt is ridiculous! I would hate it even without having children.

Definitely doesn’t seem like it would make vacuuming very fun either, haha

Apparently it's an air mattress? So hopefully it won't be in the room for too long.

Katie and Travis are also staying with them, so I guess they got the actual guest room.

I have a guest room, but I also have a daybed in my office that pulls out into a king (this one, which I got for a quarter of the price off Facebook Marketplace.) They should get something like that for the nursery- it's way more comfortable than an air mattress.

As much as I hate defending fj fundies, I understand using an air mattress. It makes sense because it’s portable or even easily stored. I’m still rolling my eyes at the stupid bed skirt.

Bed Skirt is a cousin of Layla's stoopid pants.

It probably is made for a taller bed and this is a temporary bed/air mattress for guest she has put in the nursery. If it was what she had on hand it is fine, i dont think she should be buying a new one just for a couple days.

True. I hadn’t thought of that. I suppose putting one on in the first place is a “polite” thing to do? 🙄

Ooh I didn’t realize it was an air mattress! And wouldn’t have thought of putting a bed skirt on an air mattress myself, haha. But maybe it is the polite thing to do? Or maybe just because it’s aesthetically pleasing haha

It looks to me like a coverlet that has the "skirt" attached around the edges; if it was on an actual bed, the skirt would ruffle from the edge of the mattress instead of what looks like the bottom of it.

I get using an air mattress. I can understand using a too-long bed skirt, if that's all you have. What I don't get is why you would post it on social media as if it were the cover photo for House Beautiful. I guess I am just old, and not an "influencer." The times I made up a cot and a make-shift milk crate nightstand for a guest to use, I did my best to make it comfy, but I wouldn't have considered taking a picture of it and sharing it with the world.

I think the bed skirt is so long because it’s a cover for a regular full or Queen mattress, which would usually be higher. I think it’s pretty, but it definitely would be a challenge if it was a frequently used room.

Oh good grief.  Today's video is about their intros. And how the old ones are "cringe."

The most cringe thing is actually making videos about your intros.

Boring useless content inception.

I'm impressed at how empty their lives are.

Also why do any 10-20 min youtube videos need "intros"

I hate watching the intros on all YouTube videos. If I want useless filler to pad the run time I can watch regular TV.

I’d rather watch an intro than when Katie does an ad right in the middle of her & Travis’.  It’s so annoying.

Katie has jot figured out the Instagram/YouTube balance. She saves 90% of her content for YouTube which leaves her instagram as mostly ads.

I have this bed too!! I honestly don’t understand why everyone doesn’t own this. It’s the best well-kept secret. Daybed with giant storage drawers, can be a couch during the day, used as a twin bed if needed, pulled out into a king bed for guests. Infinitely more comfortable than any sofa bed or air mattress. It’s an instant king size bed!

I have the similar IKEA one, two drawers and no boxing in bit around it. I put up some padded stuff around it instead. It was meant to be a sofa, and possible spare bed, but my partner snores, and I keep much later hours, so I started sleeping there about 3 years ago. Even though he is away during the week, I still sleep on it. It is in the room with my pet rats, and they like to free roam on it at night, and come for snuggles, so I just stay there now. It is incredibly comfortable, if you like fairly hard mattresses (I do).

You are much more patient than me. Our cat has to stay in the basement all night because he wakes us all up with his need for snuggles, 3am zoomies, and loud meows. Our kitty is such an attention whore. We really should have named him Lawson.
