Online hatred group

I hadn't heard of this group until this twitter thread, but they are apparently quite active in attacking people personally through means including swatting, doxxing and false accusations. I came across them via this twitter thread, which outlines some of the behaviour.

The MTG connection is interesting, not least because it's quite possibly legitimate rather than being something she set up - this is a loose group of cannons who seem set to go off against anyone they are annoyed at. It is terrorism.

I thought swatting someone was illegal. Can’t they get in trouble for swatting?

Yes, but you have to be able to show that 1. They did it and 2. Malicious intent. I'm sure if resources are focused on this group they could - but unless they hit someone with a lot of power individuals probably won't be identified.

It'd be nice if the SWAT teams took this as an indication that they should use armed force as an absolute last resort and start with identifying the situation and negotiation but I don't like the odds on that.
