I fully disagree with you. You’re basically calling Anna the Karla to Josh’s Paul and I think that’s gross speculation. Anna is uneducated, brainwashed, and a lot of other things but I don’t think she’s an accomplice in Josh’s horrible behaviour.

I don't see Anna as Karla Holmolka.  More like an FLDS sisterwife: someone who minimized his abhorrent behavior in favor of keeping sweet.  And that is what iblp taught her to be.  💔😢

There’s a really awful story out of Arizona from AP News that also exposed the negatives of the sexual abuse help line for LDS bishops. I don’t recommend reading it but to make a long story short, a man boasted that he could do anything he wanted to his daughters and his wife knew and let him. She eventually went to prison for two years. The bishop, who encouraged her to report her abuser husband but did not do so himself because the help line LDS lawyers advised him not to, said she seemed numb to it all (no excuse just a description).

I can’t say one way or the other about Anna but based on the comments I read about this AP article, it is the exception not the rule when wives stand up against their husbands regarding abuse in the household.

This is up there with the worst of the worst sexual abuse instances. The LDS Bishop who did not directly report the abuse was/is a physician.  Sickening. At least one of the daughters is now suing the LDS.

I can imagine Josh encouraging Anna to watch hetero porn together to spice up their sex life. Would she agree? No idea.

CSA images? No.

I think Josh kept watching CSA, having sex with prostitutes, Ashley Madison and who knows what else he's done partitioned off in his secret life.

Not only was he a physician, he was their physician. I don't know how he got around mandatory reporting as the doctor for the family.

Good. I hope she wins so much money that sues the pants off Joseph Smith himself.

It's probably similar.  The BOP doesn't change unless it's necessary.  If the USDA changed their dietary requirements, the BOP would have to update.

Those meals are not as bad as I had imagined. I am impressed by the vegetarian options. (This is all positive, in my opinion. Prisons should be well run.)

I wonder if the federal prison system struggled with the shortages and supply chain issues so many school districts did last year? Seems like they’d have a lot of the same challenges and methods — feeding thousands or tens of thousands of meals from one location day in and day out.  I know kids were posting the random odds and ends they’d get fed because the district food chains were broken and the staff would be trying to feed 20,000 kids lunch from what they could grab at Costco.

When I did my social work internship at the women's prison, the food was ok, but quite bland. The coffee was decaffeinated but flavored. I had mushroom soup once which was quite tasteless. I paid for the lunch, a nominal amount, but mostly I brought my own. The women could buy condiments at the commissary at a large mark up. I was allowed to bring in my own coffee pot which I shared with my clients, also candy.

I never realised that coffee is decaffeinated in prisons but of course it makes sense.

Prison menu for federal prisons circa 2020. Any idea if it’s still accurate?

The phrase "No Flesh Entree Item" makes my skin crawl, but might be a decent name for a metal band.

Some prisons did. This is about Texas specifically, unclear if a federal or state prison. My money is on state (because the author mostly works on State and because Texas State prisons are notorious for issues). I don't think the federal prisons have available calorie counts, but the average calories/day in prisons is 2,000 which is too low.

Edit: Unclear about who was experiencing supply chain breakdown issues.

I think, if I recall correctly, that most coffee in prisons is instant so it kind of begs the question -- how many instant coffees can you dissolve into a reasonable amount of water to make something resembling the half-caf? Decaf is has 2-3% of the caffeine of standard coffee. You might be able to get near tea (~26 mg/drink) with some effort but probably not near a soda (~45mg/drink).

(Also, if you like coffee but need decaf for a guest, no worries. Run water over ground twice. Caffeine is incredibly soluble so a large majority of the caffeine is removed from one wash. The second run will be decaf but will still have the coffee color, flavor, and most of the strength. Works for tea too.)

Fitting to the Coffee Discussion: On Friday I got to work to find an empty Coffee machine. :( I told my boss that we needed coffee beans and she said she would get some. Boss left and I thought she would just bring some with her when she comes to work on Monday morning, but she was back half an hour later with a packet of Coffee beans. 😍 I told her I would have survived without one for one shift and she just answered: "You might have, but your patients wouldn't!" I'm thinking she knows me too well!! 😁

We switched  to no coffee at work  a couple of months ago. The I switched over to espresso. Now we switched back to coffee but decaf. The Alnatura brand (german organic brand) tastes delicious. It feeds the coffee hunger without the caffein headache afterwards.

There is a HUGE difference between believing the accuser is innocent and supporting their innocense  (no matter how stupid it seems to us) and "supplying and facilitating" his victims and crimes. Anna is a shitty human with shitty belief's and she chooses to look the other way in terms of Josh's crimes. But saying she is an accomplice is just disgusting speculation.

I’m curious why she’s gone quiet after a couple bold vague posts. Did she really expect she’d get support online after everything?
