He launched a family values political campaign while supporting his son who was on trial for downloading CSA. The man is absolutely delusional.

I “think” in JB’s mind if he ran for public office it might be a signal for others in the community that Josh has to be innocent because what fool on the planet would bring more attention to his name if his son was actually guilty? Answer: JB Duggar

Frightening that I could make that mental gymnastics work, but I “think” that is the way JB’s mind works.

Spawn of JB, now convict # … Are you here about the child porn on my work computer?

I don't watch wacb, but is that definitely Anna? Because I would love to know how she got those pants if so. "Fuck this noise!" And peels out after the sentencing, straight to goodwill.

Maybe.

Good to see her out. Life goes on for her kids. I'm just very curious about what she has told her kids about Josh.

If it is, I hope the next step is sending the kids to school. Private school, public school, church affiliated school - I really don't care; I just want her to non-verbally tell JB where he can get off. I also think it would be good for the kids to be with peers, good for Anna to have a more manageable load during the day and good for Maryella and Madyson to have more one-on-one time.  In a perfect world, she'd send Meredith through to Mackynzie to day camp and drop the three youngest off at any relatives so she can go see a counsellor. She needs to sort through whose responsible for Josh's actions (not her) and process how to single parent seven kids. It will be HARD! I work full time and single parent ONE toddler with health concerns and if I didn't have support from my mom, I couldn't do it.

The kids also should be in therapy to help them cope with their dad going to prison. The two youngest are likely unable to verbally participate but may benefit from a referral to an OT to help them regulate. My dad died at the end of March and my daughter (a month younger than Maryella) is showing signs of trauma. We are wait-listed to see an OT as she lost someone she loved deeply and spent every weekend with since birth. Losing a parent they live with full time impacts even preverbal kids and the babies will be even more affected than my little one.

What a mess! Well done, Michelle and Jim Bob.

Meh woman should hang her head in shame for supporting a pedo.

Let the kids go out without her and maybe they could get away unnoticed and unphotographed send them without any duggars

The School thing worries me because of bullies picking on them because of their sperm donor

They would have to be in therapy IMO to go to school to be able to help them deal with that (and more)

I hope the Sr Duggars are taking their cues from the source, Anna, in terms of what she/the kids need and want. If she wants them around and their support, I hope they offer it in spades. If she prefers privacy and a little distance between the bigger family and hers, I hope they respect that position as well. Yes, I am sure Anna is stunned by the past 2 years events, and likely was strongly encouraged (his parents and hers) to hang in there and 100% offer Josh her support, but now all the responsibility and decisions for 7 minors, not to mention all the day in day out care, rests on her shoulders. Good for her for getting out with the kids. How much faking it is she doing right now? Back in the day Michelle was into self care via Weight Watchers and exercise.  I hope she is encouraging Anna to take care of herself through professional, licensed counseling, reading, exercising and even praying. Anna needs self care right now. I hope she gets it. She needs to be healthy (body, mind, spirit) in order to provide those kids with loving care.

I hope so too, but I sincerely doubt it.

Agreed. In terms of living in the real world, relationships, functioning according to the rules of society and how to be supportive, the Sr Duggars are failures. They wouldn’t know how to actually help or be supportive of Anna and the family’s need. It is Duggar Dysfunction!

I remember when the convicted felon was in Jesus jail and Anna/kids were at the TTH. There was a video wishing her a happy birthday. Jana said Anna was good to have in the house because she volunteered to do chores no one else wanted to do, like cleaning the bathrooms. I was baffled, what the hell kind of birthday sentiment is that? Yeah, we are stuck with my SIL and her kids, but hey she certainly cleans for her supper, I haven’t scrubbed toilets since my father forced her to move in.  🤦🏽‍♀️ It made me feel sorry for the kids.

I think many of us can look at Anna’s situation and know that she is hosed and living amongst such dysfunction, and that makes me sad for Anna and the kids, BUT….OTOH, she has housing, food, transportation and at this point doesn’t have to find day care and school for her many children so she can hustle to an early morning job, which is a HUGE luxury that most women in her situation would not have. Is it worth the 100% dysfunction, the million $ ?  At the moment, with 3 preschoolers, including a baby, probably. But GF needs to be making a plan, STAT!

At some point, I expect Anna to notice how little she needs to worry about Josh.  For the next decade or so she'll always know where he is and what he isn't getting himself into.  She might realize how much energy she wasted as a result of his BS and how much she doesn't miss it.  Then, perhaps, she can view the separation in a not all bad way and start considering a future without him.

Am I being too hopeful?

Yes, sorry.

She's going to be busy worrying if he's fed, if he's being beaten, if bad influences are teaching him things.

And also if crazy women are writing to him and he's having an affair by letter. I think sexy pics are banned from letters but if they aren't she'll worry about those too!

That's a weird sentiment for us, but for them it might be a really great compliment. A woman who cleans the house willingly is a great character trait. I remember in one of the first specials about the Bateses, it showed them going to a fundy gathering. While the boys were outside climbing rock walls, zip lining, etc., the girls were inside singing about cleaning the house. That's the mindset they were raised in and seem only too glad to pass it along.

I happened on the Duggar blog, I guess it’s supposed to be Michelle narrating the photos. Photos posted last week were of Jackson completing the ALERT program. A gaggle of Duggars went to celebrate with him and there was a group photo including JB, Michelle, Jackson, James, Justin and wife and her siblings, Tyler, a few lost girls, Josie.

Another photo from the same day is of four Duggars: Jason, Justin, Jackson and James.

Jason was not in the group photo mentioned above.
He’s the one who went with Joy to the sentencing and issued a statement afterwards. I’m wondering what’s up with him not seen in the group picture. Fallout?

Another thing is someone on this thread awhile ago mentioned that Michelle always has to have Josie next to her in photos, so now it’s the first thing I look for, and sure enough, there it is in that latest group picture.

One more thing. I went back thru the photo archives a couple years (made myself stop after that). In a picture from 2020, Michelle says  she, JB, Jeremiah and Joe are all licensed real estate agents. I don’t think I ever heard that mentioned about Michelle on this forum. It surprised me.

Actually, considering that apparently JB and Michelle spoke to Jeremy and Jinger about her immodest pant wearing, and that Jill has said that they vocally disapprove, I am kind of surprise to see Anna wearing pants.  I had sort of thought she’d be extra toeing the JB-version of fundiness if he’s truly providing for her and her seven kids.

As much as I am SEVERELY aware that pants-wearing does not mean being less fundie, for Anna it is a change, and the timing makes me a smidge more hopeful for her than I have been. (Of course it’s possible she’s been wearing pants for ages and we only just found out about it. Or it could be a desperate attempt to be attractive to Josh in a new way. But still.h

Considering that Jana along with all the married sisters, as well as most of the sisters-in-law are wearing pants now , I think JB & M have relaxed their stance on pants. Only Kendra and the 4 youngest daughters haven’t been photographed wearing pants at this point.

If she had been wearing them for years, you would think someone would have captured a photo sometime along the way. Of course, this might be an inside release to keep the family relevant in the media! I could see JB mandating a release, thinking he was sly.

Much as I would like to see the kids in school, now is not a good time. If they had gone a couple of years ago, they would have friends and would be a little sheltered from the bullies.  Who knows? Maybe when the new school year starts again, Josh will be less in the limelight, and the kids in school would be willing to give the Ms a chance. There would also be counselors for them.

 It will never happen.
