Yes, but Whitney is her coworker. If she wants her at work with her, picking her up on her way might be an imposition but isn’t unreasonable.

It's not. But it limits Carlin's ability to grocery shop, run errands, etc. Having Evan home gives her more flexibility and probably makes her feel more comfortable and secure.

I mean, it's also possible Evan likes doing domestic things and taking care of the kids more than electrician work. Like many, they might have crunched the numbers and realized that hiring help is only worth it if it's a job you love - often a second income just covers childcare. There are SAHDs that enjoy that role.

Fundies seem terrible at planning for the future. That’s why I assume this won’t be good long term. I doubt they crunched numbers. It’s Evan and Carlin.

Its not weird perse,  but they can easily arrange things so , that neither one of them need to give up their jobs. It just takes some management.  That way you still end up with an somewhat equal marriage and kids who are grounded and have more experience in.life than just hanging unto mothers ( or fathers)apron ( wich does not do them any favours in the long run) they all need to step into the world at one point, and they need to be prepared. If not you get an arndt or rod homecloister thing , wich is very hard to break away from ( and more for the guys then the girls even)

Her children are an infant and a toddler.  I’m pretty sure that not having outside paid full-time caregivers is going to permanently damage them.  Two year olds aren’t generally needing to toughen up and deal with experiences so they can step out into the world for heavens sake.  Even older children often — gasp! —- have parents who work from home, or have flex hours, or even a full-time at home parent if they can afford it.  I reallllyyyy doubt any of the SAHM on his board are worried that their small children will be failures at life because they aren’t dishing out thousands a month for care.

I was a SAHM and knew several SAHDs so I don’t have an issue with parents raising their kids without paid help. If Carlin wasn’t having health issues, Evan would be working now and Carlin would be taking care of her kids, doing her BSB work and her influencer stuff probably with some occasional help from babysitters. If Carlin had an assistant/nanny, Carlin would still be her kids’ main caregiver. She would just have an extra set of hands to drive her, watch her kids when she needs time to focus on work and just in general, make Carlin’s life easier. At this point, Evan isn’t the only one who can provide these services.

Zach and Whitney seem to be doing okay without Zach having a 9 to 5 type job, so maybe the Stewarts can swing that too if they want. Evan was just about to really start his career and it would be nice if they don’t have to totally abandon what seemed to be their original plan.

That depends on where you are coming from, in my country , keeping children at home( not in school)  above the age of 2.5 years  is seen as being detrimental for their development. But ! School is free here, due to our great socialist government

The thing is Zach works for the boutique, i asume he has his own salary so they actually have two incomes. I can see this becoming an issue if Evan is there at the boutique with Carlin everytime but they are getting just one salary for the two of them.

I was totally assuming that Evan would be getting the same boutique deal as Zach. Zach recently said that he does some work for the boutique and some for the tree cutting business.

Evan and Carlin recently made one of their silly videos about “when your wife is your boss.” If he’s working, he’s being paid.

Quick question …Did Evan ever work as an electrician? Did he pass the certification exams? Didn’t they just buy and renovate a nice home? Do they have a money tree ? Is there any saving for the future? It just doesn’t add up-

It's really confusing me to SAHD. I'm used to it being used to mean Stay-At-Home-Daughter here at Free Jinger. I guess it's being used to Stay-at-home-Dad? Maybe we could change it to be SAHF, like Stay-At-Home Father or SAHP, like Stay-At-Home-Papa.

He has been working while going to school, his classes were in the evening, presumably he has been finishing his apprenticeship. He was done school in April, so I assume he passed any relevant certifications.

Evan and Carlin do budget, they have talked about their budgeting app and their savings. Carlin said the boutique is their biggest source of income, so that says something about the profits it is bringing in. They are also likely making a decent amount on YouTube as their videos average around 190k views each. Plus Carlin's sponsorship money.

Great point! I hadn't thought about that mix-up, and honestly the concept of the dad being primary caregiver is pretty rare for this board. SAHF makes sense to me.

They got a wheelchair for Carlin in the Nashville airport and there's a shot of her sitting in it looking fairly embarrassed but also pretty out of it/nauseated (see the Boutique instagram reel.) So to me, that's an indication that she's still not doing terribly well and probably can't be left alone safely with the kids (or even at all.)

Of course, the next question is whether she should be travelling at all, but that's between her and her doctor.

I do think that Evan has a pretty good grasp on the family's income and expenses; he's really into their budgeting app. It'll be interesting to see if he's back at work soon; if his FMLA is running out, especially if he's carrying their health insurance, he's/they've got some decisions to make.

Carlin is at the trade show in a transport chair, so not just airports.  Who is the blonde sister that is with them?  Some of the girls look so much alike I can't tell them apart because I really haven't watched them grow up.

Edit;  I just saw that the blonde sister is Katie, I didn't realize she was on the trip.

Kelly also tagged along. Why? I don't know; she's far from the BSB's target demographic. Zach is also there. It might be easier to note who DIDN'T go to Vegas. 🤔

Kelly took over Erin’s share of the partnership, but I didn’t know that Katie was involved until today. Kelly often models their clothes, so her size/age are part of their demographics.

No, Kelly did not take Erin's share of the boutique. She confirmed this on a SM post several months ago. She said she is part of it because she enjoys it.

If I was Carlin , and my income was enough to comfortably support my family, and I was having health issues that required help with childcare and transportation and monitoring — I’d be very glad that my husband was willing and able to take on the role of helping me, and caring for our children. Even if he was putting his own career on hold for awhile. Like millions of women do to help their families out. All the time. There are many, many SAHM, by choice. Even those with career training. Most who don’t have significant health concerns of their partner in the mix.  Why is it so weird when it’s the father?

good point I had not thought of that

I will give the BSB credit for using Kelly and other non-petite women as models

I really think it’s part of why they are successful. As someone who is much closer to Kelly in age and shape than I am to Carlin - I like seeing how clothing will look. Does it accentuate the parts I’d rather not? Does it look like I’m trying to look 20? Or 80? Or somewhere in-between? They also have more variety in shape than just using a model of a bigger but still average size — who tend to not have a belly, and just be nicely curvy.
I was just shopping on-line at some big retailer, and discovered that they now have a choice of seeing the garment on a size 4, 12 or plus size! Amazing! They are all still mostly young and would look good in anything, but still a huge improvement.

Is Zach no longer a police officer? When did that change?

He quit his job around a year ago, they said he would work at the boutique and also from time to time cutting trees. The reason given was that he wanted a job that would allow him to spend more time with his children.
