KNWA reporting judge went with level 4 enhancement for number of images.

Impossible to come up with an exact total. Looks like judge was reasonable, slightly conservative even.

He is judging with appeals in mind.

Honestly, all this condemnation of her cousin when she herself was not a victim seems more about wanting attention than anything else.  She is just as bad as her uncle.

Oh that would be so wonderful. I didn’t think anything more than about 10 was in the realm of possibility, but 17.5 years means he will no longer have any minor aged children at home, as Madyson is around six months old now.

IDK. This judge seems methodical. He's going by the book, not emotion. Which means the "family guy" arguments are unlikely to sway him.

Defense was asking for level two, prosecution level five.

In this instance, the levels have to do with number of images.

True. But this applies to everything related to the Duggars. Everything is superficial because they are lazy, disengaged and uneducated. They have existed in an echo chamber of hearing only those things that support their views. Some of the kids are seemingly moving away from the world according to JB, and boy what they are learning and discovering! Theology and philosophy are freaking difficult to understand and process for the best of the educated, and the Duggars are the antithesis of that. Most of these folks are parrots when it comes to religion. Many of them just parrot what JB says. They have no deep knowledge on anything.

I believe higher sentence means the action was more severe, thus a longer sentence.

I don't think there is enough time to prevent Josh committing the same crime again, but keeping him in prison until his youngest kid is a pre-teen is the bare minimum I'm hoping for.

Not disagreeing about some attention seeking, but I suspect that the condemnation and timing are aimed more toward JB than Josh.  I don't think she likes him very much (to put it mildly).

I think she was probably very hurt by it all. Not in the same way as her cousins but hurt none the less. They made her part of their family, with caveats later, and she grew up with the older kids & had a relationship with the Boob & Michelle. I was very close to my uncle growing up & well into adulthood. He was like a father figure, since mine is a POS. If it turned out he was like Boob, I'd have been totally heartbroken. (Fortunately, no chance of that; he died as loving & wonderful as he lived). 

I think she is disappointed, hurt AND angry. 

Of course, there is some attention seeking as well, but I don't think that's her only or even primary motive.
