I believe that is the ginormous Atlantis Report. https://www.atlantisbahamas.com/

Personally not my cup of tea. And Hannah looks like she's wearing a shear robe over a nightie.

Very strange outfit. It’s like she’s letting everyone know she’s still a bride on her honeymoon.

So did she have to yell Nike every 2 seconds their entire honeymoon?

The Bahamas is a very nice place for a honeymoon. It's not like they're in cabin in the near-by woods.

I actually like that dress. It's looks 70s to me, but maybe a little more sheer.

They also spent nearly a week in Orlando before heading home on Tuesday. How secular of them.

Well it depends...we did a 3-week roadtrip through Italy, where the itinerary was dictated by "best places to eat on the coast and in the countryside", filled with food and wine (not fundie approved!), avoiding tourist places like the plague (except Rome, as my husband had never been to Italy and we kinda had to).

We also did not "save ourselves for marriage" though 😄, so we were not eagerly awaiting the honeymoon to finally be able to have sex (in which case perhaps we would have gone to the Bahamas or something like it hehehe).

The place they picked looks very...Disney-esque.

The only fundies who are loudly avoiding Disney were the ones who were never going to go in the first place. The ones who love Disney and have the money to go, will happily keep going. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from grandstanding fundies is that they only grandstand when it comes to something they were never going to do or buy anyway.

Atlantis looks fun, but I keep thinking "why?" Like - especially for fundies. Why in the world would they go to a resort in a hot weather locale where they know for certain they'll be surrounded by tons of "worldly" people wearing very little clothing? You'd think these people would choose places that are either very private or where most people are wearing a bit more clothing.

The Wissmanns seem to wear pretty normal tank top type bathing suits. They don’t wear string bikinis or anything. But their bathing suits look positively pornographic compared to Duggar “wholesome wear.” Of course the Wissmanns and Duggars have extremely similar beliefs in just about everything else.

Wholesome swimwear is optional when you don’t swim, which we know that until recently, the Duggars have had limited exposure. It really is a wonder that none of those kids drowned while wearing jeans, shirts and dresses in the water. I remember back in the day, to pass lifesaving you had to jump into the water in jeans and a shirt and make a flotation device out of your clothing, and then tread water for 10 minutes or was it 20?  God really was watching…or maybe the only time they swam was for filming?

The Wissmanns do seem to enjoy swimming so maybe that’s why they wear regular suits. The parents don’t want their kids drowning in jeans.

Why has Disney become a problem for the fundies?

It usually has to do with them being too progressive. Fundies hate progression. They want to live in the past.

There’s a big conflict going on in Florida. Basically the asshole governor is being as much of an asshole as possible in hope of riding Trump’s coattails to the vice presidency or the presidency. He recently signed a law nicknamed “Don’t Say Gay,” which forbids sex/gender instruction in the early grades of public school. Disney, which has been a very LGBT-friendly company for years, opposed the bill. That got them into hot water with the fundies, and really pissed off the governor and other Republicans in state government. Just today, the state Senate passed a bill that would end the special law that essentially permits Disney to run its own local government (the “Reedy Creek Improvement District”).

@QuiverFullofBooks thank you. Isn’t Disney a pretty large employer/bringer of  tourist revenue  in Florida though? I guess his supporters don’t own hotels, restaurants, air b’n’b etc?

I think many of his supporters are lucky if they own a home. He's probably got a few wealthy people, but the majority of the ones trying to "cancel Disneyworld" are not those people. Basically gay people exist, Disney has been LGBT+ friendly, and now they're having a freakout. Ted Cruz seems to think that Disney saying essentially (after being pushed) "hey, gay people exist, and this legislation is not cool" somehow means that Disney is going to start showing animated gay porn or something.

I'm a little bit amused at them wanting to take over Disney's governing. I don't think they really are thinking that through. Now, instead of Disney paying for it's own fire department, police, road improvements, etc. won't it all now be on the county or state? They'll suddenly have an area the size of San Francisco, used by around 300,000 people every single day, that has essentially NO residences in it that they now have to manage services and infrastructure for.

And yes, Disney is a HUGE revenue bringer for Florida - as is Universal, which they seem not to have attacked yet, but likely will at some point. Like, if you are in the airport in Orlando? A huge proportion of the people there are clearly headed to or home from a Disney vacation.

That's Atlantis. I've been there many times. I can't imagine how many times Hannah had to tell Nike walking to that specific location.

It's a massive beach resort with a waterpark guys, everyone's sporting defrauding swimwear.

DeSantis is SO dumb, for a billion reasons (i.e. he's currently trying to destroy Disney, but is also giving them + other corps a huge tax refund right now- $10M just to Disney). Alas, you are right- without Disney paying for the infrastructure and services, it will fall to the tax payers. In the immediate WDW area + Orlando, we are generally Democratic voters. He doesn't give a shit if the tax payers of Orange County take the brunt of it because they aren't his supporters anyway.

I don't think it will get that far; I'm pretty sure there will be lawsuits. He's using this as a distraction against the very Anti-Black voting maps he's currently passing. Also, all of these BS laws that have passed that have the potential to be determined unconstitutional, will cause us taxpayers up to $750/hr for the courts to fight it out.
