I’m always happier when fundies have sons.  (I just hope, for their poor sons’ sake, they are gender conforming.)  No matter how much progress Jill makes, I still don’t think her house would be safe for a non CIS gendered child.

Yeah, I think Derrick would let a daughter go to Oklahoma State but it’s still better to be a boy in that world.

Just saw the announcement. Something tells me this child will have an E name (not sure why). Initially I thought Elijah, but I could also see Ezekiel or Emmanuel.

I read somewhere that Jill has said her kids first initials will spell out Israel. Fits so far, Israel, Samuel, River. So if that's true, I guess A would be next?

That said, I don't remember when I read that so take it with a full tablespoon of salt.

Jill said their kids name will spell out Israel. Talk about laying on the Zionism thick🙁

I - Israel

S- Samuel

R- River (miscarriage)

The next baby's name will begin with A and likely end in 'el'

I think Ariel or something like that.

When did Jill say that? I think it's just a rumor, or someone's flight of fancy that took hold on the interwebz.

What if they stop at 3 kids, or have twins on the last baby? Or another 2 miscarriages after this baby - do they give up on trying for a fourth? Saying the names will spell out a word (which she already named the eldest) is silly.

But for fun because having a theme (like A or ‘el’) helps guide the guessing, I will suggest Abraham or Raphael/Rafael.

I LOVE Man who has it all! Their FB-page, especially the comments section, is where I go when I need some encouragement after reading so much crap online. It reminds me that there are still great people out there.

That sounds like a rumor - but how weird would that be, to have your kids names spell out a word - that is the firstborns name. What would the younger kids think? How entitled would that 1st kid feel? Too funny. I can imagine the sibling fights lol

I'm kinda torn - it could just be coincidence, but then I could also imagine Derick and Jill thinking that it's super neat. I guess we'll see soon...

I know a family that has the names per child spell out their initials. So Jill would for instance be Jill Iris Lucy Lydia.

And I can imagine spelling out the last name with all childrens first names but spelling out the first born would be weird...

Sounds like a rumour. And I don’t see them going hardcore biblical with this name but more mainstream like Gabriel.

River was a total departure from their naming style with the boys. It’s possible that they’re over it and this one gets some totally different name—another nature name maybe like Sage, Linden, Brook, Forrest…Oak is a thing now on Reddit’s name nerds  sub. So maybe no -el and not at all biblical

Also it might be easier coming up with a gender neutral “modern” name than a gender neutral biblical name, or another more “established” name, as those are more likely to be gendered.

(as Jill and Derick did not know the sex of the miscarriaged fetus)

I’ve noticed that sometimes parents may stray from a theme with a miscarriage because it is different from a living child. So maybe they will call them Angel or Hope although those names might not fit the theme perfectly.

Jill has had two c-sections already and we know that the first was likely to have been very traumatic. She may not be able to have the large family she spoke about when they first married. Having said that, we know that they prevented pregnancy after Sam, which they said they were against when they were newlyweds. So imo we really can’t guess too much about their future family plans based on what they’ve said in the past.

My hope for them is that they keep critically thinking about Jill’s upbringing, accessing therapy, and making decisions based on a better future for them. We’ve seen them do it with public school for Israel and hopefully they will continue to grow to open their minds.

I have high hopes for Jill and her family but they are just that. Hopes.

I know a family who spelled out the Dad's name with the kids names. So stupid. They literally had 5 kids just so they could keep a stupid theme. And their kids names are awful.

I'm having a lot of fun with this, creating kids' name options from my and my former husband's names. Next I'll start with fun words, like "worship" and "jesus" and "f*ckyo*" although I'd never have had that many kids.

I think the most ridiculous name I've heard is X. Named after Malcolm X. I wish I was kidding. This was my American friend's coworker.

So... as long as they don't go in this level of stupid.

Guess I should update again? Frieda (Kiki, we renamed her) is here since the end of February 2021. She came with a bunch of problems, but is the best dog ever and is doing better every day. But we do now know how a dog with ptsd looks like. For real, not joking. If she is triggered during the day, she wakes up screaming at night. Not like dogs dream, but literally screaming. Other than that she went with us on countless trips, loves hiking and even cable cars. She is one heck of a fearless dog in situations who do not remind her of her old life.
My Grandpa passed away last May and I'm still grieving a lot. After sharing a house with my grandparents for over 30 years it is just horrible to lose one of them. Even though it was his decision and he got to go like he wanted. At home, in his bed during the night without doctors. He would have need more care and he did not want more care. So after turning 90 he decided to let go and became weaker and weaker.
In other news my dad stops working for good on April 1st. Retirement time. Keep my Mum and myself in your prayers. We really do not want him at home all the time. Haha!

I don't always make good decisions for myself due to severe depression but I did today actively decide not to do something that might have been detrimental for me and am very proud of myself.

Well, this is weird. At some point, recently, I broke my wrist. I had to get a Dexa-scan today (put it off for years) and along with some bone loss, damn I had it a few minutes ago… the results said, “Fracture risk is moderate, and the patient has a significant wrist fracture. Treatment is advised.”  my left wrist aches a little but not near as much as my back, feet, knees or fingers, damn RA. I have no idea how it happened. I haven’t fallen in 2 years, haven’t banged or bumped…  the dr will call tomorrow and we’ll get  this straightened out.
