Does anyone know if Edwin Morton and Francessca did end up getting married on Friday? I don’t think I saw any posts about it but I’m not sure If it was on someone’s story or something

I was wondering that too. I don't follow any Mortons anymore so I don't see or know anything unless it's posted here.

The only post I saw was of a bachelor fishing trip for him.   That was posted this morning.

They're not getting married until June

Madison Crane got married to Daniel Myers on April 11th. From her Instagram comments, it sounds like only her close friends knew they were together. Maybe they eloped?

I’m not I know who these fundies are.

Madison is a member of the Freedomists, who did an interview with Joy and Austin once. Her family moved to Arkansas specifically to join the Duggars' church. She's friends with Lauren Caldwell and has posted pictures occasionally of herself hanging out with the younger Duggar girls (though she's in her early 20's). People on here have speculated that her family hopes that their 20 year old son Ethan will end up with Johannah, but there's not a lot of evidence to back that up.

This probably doesn't count for the list, but Gabrielle and Drew Patton just had a BIG vow renewal ceremony (white dress, 100+ guests, etc...) Joy Forsyth and Abbie Duggar were bridesmaids.

Yeah, I saw the Salyer sisters went. It’s so weird when people have those and they haven’t been married that long. I guess I just don’t expect them before a 20th anniversary. No one in my circle of friends would ever do this.

They've been married for five years.

Is it wrong that my first thought when I see a vow renewal so soon is that someone cheated?

I think a lot of people assume that. But with fundies, I often wonder if they are just trying to put a spark back into the relationship. Fundies are backwards about sex, marriage, and divorce. I would imagine a vow renewal is just another attempt at saving a failing marriage. Because divorce isn’t an option. So let’s throw a big party and pretend we are just as excited to jump into bed as we were 5 years ago.

I thought Madison's name was Madison Crain. Are we sure of the spelling?

I could see this being popular for people who got married during the Pandemic (although it's not applicable in this case). I could also see this for people who had small, budget friendly first ceremonies. Most of my friends had a big enough wedding the first time not to renew the vows this soon.

You're correct- my phone autocorrected it to Crane.

I'm calling bull on that. Especially for this couple. They have been so in love since day one. Nothing has to wrong to have a vow renewal. They're in love with 2 beauty babies.  Nothing wrong with having a vow renewal at 5 years or even 1 year.

I find vow renewals a bit odd and unnecessary if there isn’t a problem with the marriage or if the original wedding wasn’t unsatisfactory in some major way. The point of the original vows is that they’re ‘until death us do part’, the implication being that they’re lifelong. Why renew or redo lifelong vows when they should still be just as valid after fifty years than after one? I mean, as long as the couple are happy, I suppose…but I do find it odd.

I thought it was Crane. Her brothers Instagram says Crane. But maybe it’s a joke. She was also the maid of honor at the bizarre Hannah Reber David Keller wedding.

I also wondered this and thought man she must have hated her first wedding and went all the way back through her Instagram to see photos. And she doesn’t share a lot of the old wedding pictures that’s for sure but the dress she wore to the renewal looked a lot like the OG dress. Gabrielle shares in her story about how this was to “redo their wedding day” with her  Dad. She said “those that are close to us know our story…” Does anyone on free Jinger know their story?
Her Instagram made their courtship look crazy fast but then scrolling back I realized that this was another Austin/Joy situation in that they were family friends for a long time and I assume there was some kind of mutual interest for a while before it became official. The timing also went almost perfectly with her graduating from nursing school so I’m suspicious.

When the pinnacle of your existence as a fundie woman is your wedding day, who wouldn't want to repeat it? Especially since they all have closets full of bride's maid dresses and all have lots of party planning experience, they ought to be able to plan one of these events pronto mundo. And they all enjoy this sort of thing so much!

I think a vowel renewal can be a nice thing if you want to celebrate your love again. But then just make it a thing for your own family. The weirdest thing for me is the fact that they again invite 100+ people and have a bridal party etc.

I could understand vow renewal if one's wedding happened during the pandemic, and family and friends were unable to attend. My husband and I got married at the registry office with only 6 guests allowed. Indoor eating was not allowed, so we had an outdoor meal at the pub with our 6 guests.

We are having a church ceremony and reception this summer, so our families and friends can celebrate with us. I don't know if that's a "vow renewal", but we've been married a year, and want to have a wedding people can actually attend.
