An interesting observation about Anna's Instagram. I noticed at the start of the trial she had around 997k followers - it is now up to 999k.
I don't follow her and couldn't get current stats from socialblade, but her follower count increasing is curious. Unless she is buying followers, people appear to be sympathising with her which... At this point, I cannot even fathom. 

It’s probably more morbid curiosity, when you cant help looking when you pass an accident scene.

Ran home from the Christmas tree farm and still no verdict? Personally my faith in the American “justice” system ranges from nonexistent to “a stopped clock is accurate twice a day” so this isn’t sitting well with me.

Also, the jury is escorted out for a lot of legit reasons. Example- a judge can rule on things that might not be relevant but a lawyer is trying to sneak in. If the jury was sent out because the victim had a drug bust 20 years ago that had no bearing on his character or the trial, the jury should not hear that. But it does not stop the lawyer from trying to sneak it in.

In the days before smart phones everywhere, many people carried small calendar cards in their wallets.  I wonder if those would be allowed.

From Anna Darling - what does this mean?  Who said that?  Faulkner or Josh?  And this is the raid, what media are they talking about at that point?  Maybe some reference to the paparazzi Josh claimed to be using Tor to avoid?

I think I'm in the minority, but I'm 99% sure Josh will be convicted. It is a combination of following the thoroughness of the case and a gut feeling. That "gut feeling" hasn't failed me yet-- but I'm still crossing my fingers that I'm not jinxing it.

It’s not that big of a deal if you work backward from the current week in a grid. But I’m from paper and pencil generation so have made plenty of monthly calendars…I mean, it’s tedious, but it’s not like it’s impossible or particularly hard. 

Thiugh I’m not sure my astonishing old school calendar skills would have been what we really wanted on the jury, my eyes glazed over with all the tech talk. 😂

I highly doubt that any fed employees are starstruck by a reality TV star to the point they would risk their careers.

And it’s not like the jury can’t see that the paparazzi aren’t hunkered down outside the courtroom. I mean, no one on the jury knew about the show, right? So I imagine that will sound pretty thin to them.

That people article had some new info I hadn’t heard. Eight men and four women on the jury - I’m kind of worried about that. I think it was interesting that they wanted to tell the alternates what they were deliberating, almost as though there were specific points needing addressing. Or is someone on the jury feeling like they might have to bail?
 

This made me laugh: “Audio shows the agents at one point instruct Duggar to listen rather than ask more questions. ” 😂

I wonder if they wanted the calendar to look at when things were later viewed/downloaded or even when adult porn was accessed on Josh’s other devices? I would imagine they’d need it only if they wanted a visual timeline of all the dates/things from that visit to when he was arrested? Or maybe it’s nothing and someone on the jury just likes all t’s crossed and i’s dotted and thought it would hell them lay everything out.

During jury selection they asked if they had seen the show or knew about it.  There were more than few that had heard of the Duggars and a few that had watched the show so I'm pretty sure they are aware of their "stardom"  (said with sarcasm).

That doesn't make sense to me.  

Why is this such a problem with this trial and the Duggars in general?

I sat a trial once where the 12th juror didn’t “feel” the guy was guilty. He didn’t care about or understand the evidence. Yep, hung jury. I’m worried that this might be the case. Of course, don’t most verdicts come on Fridays or the day before a holiday?  Perhaps tomorrow or Friday the 10th, will be the day. Happy Birthday, Josie.

When I served on the jury, I remember someone remarking on the woman who was dismissed as the alternate. She'd taken copious notes throughout the three-day trial and we were hoping the bailiff would allow us to keep her notebook. Nope! Most of the rest of us had taken notes as well, but she had been scribbling things down the whole time. It would have been interesting to have her input on our discussion.

Scrolling through JB’s Facebook page, I see there are other things he will not allow. Looks like he is trying to spin this as cancel culture and liberals coming for him. Gratifying to see lots of laughing emojis even if comments heavily censored. 
 

The pictures are sad because in the background all the at home kids are still playing the smiling host roles. They really are in their own rural Arkansas echo chamber.

Given the unfortunate political climate and how the far right think and behave, this stance is not surprising.  It's bottom feeding,  low vibration thinking, and taps into a ready base.  JB is slimy asf.   

While wondering how Josh, JB, M and the kids could be thinking,  it's very possible they believe the conspiracy since they buy into the Trump bullshit.  Persecution complex is always off the charts with fundies anyway.  I could see it.  Ben is all concerned about gay people still, I mean.....

Also someone asked earlier if Duggars were still in at IBLP. Looks like they were family speakers last year (as were the Bates), so still all in I would guess. Skimming through the page I’m reminded of how cultlike it all feels production wise (weird stodgy books, separate vocabulary) and how many of the leaders are these unimpressive ordinary guys. I remember back when I was really drawn to it, watching some Embassy Media stuff, and the speakers were so b-o-r-I-n-g.

It seems some adult women might be drawn to the cult for its set roles and expectations and the idealized family life and the order it promises out of chaos. I wonder if for the men, it promises really super ordinary guys rockstar status (I remember feeling that with Vision Forum). But I wonder. Who are the real powers at IBLP and what have they done to cover up Gothard, Josh, and how toxic and destructive the teaching is. Do they shut their eyes to it or are they mostly vested in preserving their power? What are they talking about as the trial unfolds? Are they watching? Ignoring? Calculating whether to cut ties with the Duggars or ask for prayer? Maneuvering to keep other secrets from coming out? I still think it’s pretty wild that with all this publicity, Josh’s teen punishment/IBLP center rehab doesn’t get more media scrutiny.

I feel slightly better knowing the judge ended deliberations for the day, rather than the jury asking to end and resume tomorrow.  But I am still flabbergasted that there is anything to deliberate.  I mean Smugs was present every time bad stuff was downloaded and/or viewed, Smugs uses the same password as was used to get to where the bad stuff was, Smugs has a history of sexual abuse of minors, and Smugs called out the hidden partition to the investigator's AND Smugs even brought up CP before the investigators did!  What is there to deliberate?  

I thought walking away from the internet for a few hours would calm me down but NOPE.
