Esther had a picture on IG. Nathan is always underdressed for occasions: every wedding he’s seen at and his grandmother’s funeral. But when he proposed to Esther, he was in that flashy plaid suit. He should have just bought a conservative suit that works for any occasion. But I think with Nathan, it’s more a choice that he doesn’t care to make an effort to look nice at occasions in which he’s not the main focus.

Edited to add that Nathan did wear a blue suit to Katie and Travis’s wedding last year. Maybe it doesn’t fit anymore.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a clear message that turning up in jeans would not fly at Katie‘s wedding.
I think both colours look very obviously as the result of a coloration. Keeping up the dark will be a pita (I had mine red for some time and root management was so stressful I gave up on it. Which is sad because I think it looked amazing). I do think the dark looks better though. The blonde looked really badly done and had an unfortunate yellow tone that clashed with her skin - especially when she used too much tanner.
It’s good to see that she seems to able to change her hairstyles at will though. After all of Nathan’s comments about women’s hair that is comforting.

I think it is just a bit too dark. Red hair is a pain to keep up with, it seems to dull so fast.

I had a friend in high school and beyond who had the most gorgeous natural blonde hair. One day she decided to dye her hair jet black. She looked like Snow White with her hair and very fair skin. She kept it going for awhile and then just stopped. It did look interesting growing out!

Do we know what Nathan does for a living? Why do they live in Arkansas? Where in Arkansas btw? That Medic corp(?) thing is not a real job, is it?

Nathan works as a flight instructor. He started his business in Arkansas- I'm assuming because the Duggars are also into getting pilots licenses and have connections at local airfields. He and Esther live pretty close to the TTH, in Tontitown.

I feel like a lot of fundies are now doing the buy/sell thing. The Duggars have always done this with cars and real estate. I think they are doing it with mobile homes too. Carver Bowers is doing the buy/sell car things too. So I’m unsurprised he’s doing this with planes. I bet they will end up selling their mobile home ones Kenna gets bigger and maybe they will buy a fixer house.

I’m not against makeup. I think it can be great. And I think if someone chooses not to wear makeup that’s great too. But she’s 5 months. Why do this at age 5 months? Why are they so obsessed with gender roles and gender stereotypes? I hope Kenna loves playing in the mud, wants only trucks, and hates makeup just because her mom is being ridiculous about gender roles and norms at such a young age.

if this wasnt a fundie family strict on gender roles I would think this was adorable

I would have loved to do something like this with my babe

But I was also very accepting of the fact that she is so not into anything like this now

This photo would have been adorable for me and something for her to role her eyes at when she is older lol

Poor Kenna. Her only purpose in life is to be beautiful. Her future role is "aesthetically pleasing walking womb and helpmeet". First line on her CV.

Meanwhile I'm expecting a girl, and I'm looking at solar system and space print onesies. The sky is the limit.

Oh I loved finding anything (rarely) in “girl” dinosaur stuff. Same with my Spider-Man obsessed 2 year old (and still now nearly 7 year old. Lucky she and I don’t give two shits if she is in boy stuff if it is the theme she loves

My boy said to me "pink is for girls" - and I promptly let him know that colors are just colors/gender neutral- but then proceeded to tell me that he can't wait to have his own dazzling pearl and gemstone necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. So there is that. Rock on, little one! ;)❤️

The flower girl and ring bearer in my wedding were siblings I had babysat all through my college years, including when I was dating my husband. When I explained what their "jobs" would be, they immediately wanted to switch because the girl was already obsessed with my engagement ring and wanted proximity to the jewelry while her brother liked the idea of tossing things down the aisle. I was willing to let them trade, but eventually they read some books about weddings and decided not to switch. But still--gender roles are clearly in the eyes of the beholders😂

Even poor Kenna has a ''what-the-heck-is-going-on'' look on her face.

Just had my anatomy scan today. Would it be awful if we revealed the sex of number 2 At silly girl's first birthday party? We have the envelope, I just don't know If we want to open it before or during her party or give it to my sister in law to bake the color into her cake? I don't want to feel like I'm taking attention off of her

Guess I should update again? Frieda (Kiki, we renamed her) is here since the end of February 2021. She came with a bunch of problems, but is the best dog ever and is doing better every day. But we do now know how a dog with ptsd looks like. For real, not joking. If she is triggered during the day, she wakes up screaming at night. Not like dogs dream, but literally screaming. Other than that she went with us on countless trips, loves hiking and even cable cars. She is one heck of a fearless dog in situations who do not remind her of her old life.
My Grandpa passed away last May and I'm still grieving a lot. After sharing a house with my grandparents for over 30 years it is just horrible to lose one of them. Even though it was his decision and he got to go like he wanted. At home, in his bed during the night without doctors. He would have need more care and he did not want more care. So after turning 90 he decided to let go and became weaker and weaker.
In other news my dad stops working for good on April 1st. Retirement time. Keep my Mum and myself in your prayers. We really do not want him at home all the time. Haha!

I don't always make good decisions for myself due to severe depression but I did today actively decide not to do something that might have been detrimental for me and am very proud of myself.

Well, this is weird. At some point, recently, I broke my wrist. I had to get a Dexa-scan today (put it off for years) and along with some bone loss, damn I had it a few minutes ago… the results said, “Fracture risk is moderate, and the patient has a significant wrist fracture. Treatment is advised.”  my left wrist aches a little but not near as much as my back, feet, knees or fingers, damn RA. I have no idea how it happened. I haven’t fallen in 2 years, haven’t banged or bumped…  the dr will call tomorrow and we’ll get  this straightened out.
