TL;DR The family wants the doctors to use junk science promoted by far-right conspiracy theorists to try to save their loved one. It's more not trusting real science and medical advice in favor of junk science and conspiracy shit.

I hadn't seen her stories, because I was taking a breather. Thank to alerting me, after I posted I checked out what she was saying.

 

For sure, I was not saying the family were hypocritical, rather that KNY apparently feels that everyone needs to sit down, believe and if it happens meet their maker rather than fight, but she has now gone ahead to support this family in fighting. So when the chips are down,  she doesn't actually buy what she's selling, but she'll keep shoving it on everyone all the same,  calling people sheep for trying to avoid disaster,  and take unnecessary risks with her own family. 

Even though real evidence based science is on the table (agreed, vaccines are sadly too late for this person, but for others, along with masking and all the things we know to be effective) she's going to scream and rail against it and shout about revolutions and refusal to live in fear,  but in the next breath, decry anyone who stands in the way of a desperate, fear based call for support.  This is NOT a criticism of the family,  in the situation they are in, of course they're grasping at straws, no judgment of them here.  

My issue is with Kristen sending her anti Vax woo based bullshit out into the world, claiming it'll all be fine, Jesus got you,  but then when someone winds up exactly where she sent them (not saying this specific circumstance is her fault, but it's where living her message can lead her followers), all of a sudden it's time to step up and take action? She just infuriates me with her arrogance and insistence in clinging to her "truth". There are safe and effective means of avoiding the trauma this family is living, but not for her and her children because she knows where to find bullshit on the internet.  Why fight for drugs we know to be ineffective or even dangerous in place of what millions of people around the world are proving effective every day? (I'll ignore the irony of rejecting the vaccine as experimental while advocating for these drugs, by the way,  I don't have the energy)

A separate issue I take with her,  she's what, 5, 6 months pregnant? Covid for her could be truly devastating. When I was pregnant at the start of the pandemic last year my MFM was extremely clear - we don't know what this will do to you or the baby, so avoid at all costs.  We know better now,  and she was right in her advice. 20ish professional societies recently issued a joint statement imploring pregnant people to be vaccinated.  It sickens me that her belief system puts not only her and the baby at risk, but risks leaving 3 kids motherless, and that her messaging could contribute to a similar fate for so many others that follow her,  or who find confirmation of their belief system in her.  

This isn't my most organized post, sorry, I'm just so sick of it all. It doesn't make me eloquent.

I didn't think you were calling the family hypocrites. I didn't see Kristen as a hypocrite, she believes in conspiracies and woo. Whether she's telling people not to mask/vaccinate or advocating for fake cures, to me it's the same.

I have some sympathy for the family, but they clearly believe in the same conspiracy theories Kristen does. I feel bad for the poor hospital staff are already in hell and whose lives this family are making worse by fighting with them over a fake drug. 

Yes it would be nice to live country where there are actually consequences for people who spread lies like the right wing outlets promoting fake cures and anti-vaccinations.

I agree Kristen is putting both her children at risk by not getting them vaccinated or taking the pandemic seriously.

I'm not going to promise anything because I've actually never listened to her voice, but I may take a peek if it's available in a way that I can listen without contributing to her metrics. I do not feel like she will stick with it. So much more difficult to plan things out and do a pod than just throw things on IG stories.

Does she just tease it, or is there a name and landing spot for it?

I'm not a pharmacist but I work in the industry. No doctor will prescribe Ivermectin at this point. It's too late. If the patient is intubated, most medications can't be given. A lot of meds are used off label. The most famous is probably Viagra. It didn't start as a pee pee medication. It was to treat heart disease.

I hated worming my horses. I had to hide the tubes of worming paste so the horses wouldn't see it. I had to get them all confined in their respective stalls or corrals so they wouldn't decide to go hangout on the other side of the pasture. I swear that one of my horses, the old Appaloosa, would give me the side-eye similar to this chestnut when I walked into his stall with the paste.
