Loveday, great screen grabs. Thank you!

And speaking of lying liars who lie (because we always are, when it comes to LazyLori)…I would bet my house that this NEVER happened. We heard another similar story about something Lori was asked to teach (or something like that) when she was a teacher. Ken had to step in then, too.  No wonder he wanted out. This woman is batshit crazy.

Actually, she wrote a post about it on her old blog. It was her daughter, Cassie, who was attending college at home because they didn't want to pay for BIOLA for a mere woman.

You’re so right!  What a memory. I just spent an hour searching on her Always Learning blog. Here it is!

http://lorialexander.blogspot.com/2012/02/perversion-of-universities.html

I still don’t believe it, but at least it’s a consistent lie.

But what a trip down memory lane that was. LazyLori was actually far more self-aware than she is now. She admitted several times how controlling she was, what an awful wife she was, how confrontational she was with Alyssa. I guess she just keeps transforming, because she is a far more critical and accusing broken record these days.

Here’s the post on the demon possessed teacher she had to work with.

She’s such a drama queen.

The Cassie-had-to-write-a-paper-about-the-gays story might be true. I think the demon teacher story is a complete fabrication, however.

I know! She was actually much more likeable on the old blog, in her less-transformed state.

Whoops. I see I didn’t post that second link. Here it is:

Thanks for finding this!  It was even worse than I remembered.

I love how her professor just put it down to a clash of personalities and dismissed the demon possession stuff.  That really ticked Lori off. ?

She ends the story with,  "Now I'm not saying every teacher is demon possessed..."   Aw, that's really big of her, isn't it?

Going back to the term reticule,  I first heard it on The Beverly Hillbiillies almost 60 years ago.  Granny referred to her little cloth handbag as a reticule.  And the term did refer to the fact that the original ones were knitted or crocheted.  If we have an in-person JASNA (Jane Austen Society of North America) Louisville Festival this summer many of the women will be carrying reticules.  I need to find some patterns and knit a couple.

Fun fact: “reticule” comes from the Latin word “reticulum,” which means “mesh” or “net.” I first heard the term endoplasmic reticulum in a biology class.

Now I need to learn how to crochet a reticule!

Wow. Today the ever-modest Lori has a new-old take on pornography -- courtesy of senior citizens Doug Wilson and whoever George Gilder is. She has helpfully provided a link to a raunchy video on youtube to enhance her credibility.

What does sex-obsessed woman want us to know about men and pornography? Well, contrary to all appearances, the actual victims of pornography are not the women involved (willingly or under coercion) in the production of pornography, nor the women whose spouses get involved with this web of temptation. Nobody mentions any level of care for women because they only care what happens to the men. Men are the true victims of pornography.

Men like Doug and George don't mind looking at *women* in the nude (which apparently they do all the time, for some reason?) it's the nude *men* that they don't like. Watching the men, Doug and George feel perhaps that they don't measure up to Hollywood standards. See what I did there? I stated the problem indirectly using a modest euphemism. Lori is flat out talking trash about men's junk. On a blog for modest Christian women. Ewww.

Doug and George are also concerned that a man seeing men in this context could turn them on... which could turn them gay.... and that would be the end of the world. And what shall be the sign of this reality? Men shaving their pubic hair. And that's why people need to avoid porn according to Doug, George, and Lori... so they don't consider manscaping.

There you have it: keep those men strong and verlie, confident in the power of their own genitals, and isolated from imagery of anyone to compare themselves against. Ignorance is strength.

And the prooftext: from First John, a message of strength, comfort, and love to a church fighting heresy and undergoing a church split on the basis of 'who is Jesus anyways?', aknowledging a role for every member of the community including young people. But this is Lori, so it must be about sex, right?

I feel like if they find themselves thinking of other men’s junk and being turned on as much as they seem to that they should probably consider the fact that they might just be kinda into guys. Like bro if you’re that worried.... or is this something a lot of men think about?

Today we find Lori in a Satanic Panic!

She has always said that feminism has a 'Satanic' agenda, which is a pretty serious accusation in Christian circles. Someone actually asked her to back up her bias with Bible which launched her current post.

As usual Lori can't tell the difference between a disagreement and the end of the world. It's quite true that feminism elevates different values from the ones mentioned in her favourite proof texts -- but different is not equal to evil.

Also, par for the course, Lori understands neither of the two things she is comparing. In every paragraph she is either getting feminism wrong or getting the Bible wrong... or both!

Here's the list:

1) Lori thinks feminism requires people to refrain from being "sober minded" and encourages emotion-fueled behaviour. In spite of the fact that we all have emotions (and that "sober" in the Bible doesn't mean we ignore them) I find a great deal of dispassionate reasoning and strong academic work done by feminists every day.

2) Lori thinks that feminism disapproves of people who "love their husbands". That's just dumb. Independence is not the opposite of love! True love always has a foundation of freedom. Everybody loves a happy marriage. Lori just differs with feminists on how to tough-out a tough situation, and, as usual asserts her opinions about mandatory sexual services under the topic of 'love'.

3) Lori thinks that the opposite of "discreet" is going to college and/or getting a job. Then she talks about sex and the 'consequences' of sex, like that's "discreet"!

4) Lori actually hits on one real point of friction between mainstream feminism and most Christians in terms of chastity. Christian personal ethics does call believers, in the context of sexual freedom and agency, to choose to refrain from most sexual activities outside of a commitment like marriage. Feminism doesn't teach that value. It also doesn't teach that there is anything wrong with it. Feminism doesn't care what you want to do with your sexuality -- only that you are free to do those things that you want to do.

5) Lori twists the Bible's instructions on family solidarity in the social context of the Roman empire (being loyal to your household) into her modern concept of house-keeping-as-virtue. Feminism that makes space for women with or without careers. So does the Bible. And the last Church Lori went to. Lori, on the other hand knows better. To Lori, God's will is whatever Lori thinks it is.

6) Lori's final point rests on a mistranslation. The Bible does *not* call for spousal obedience. The word used is the one I have mentioned before: calling all Christians to embrace humility and elevate other people above themselves. (Wives are not singled out for this humility, nor are they made subordinate to anyone.) This mutual submission ethic, again, is not something feminism teaches -- but it isn't forbidden either.

The finale proof text is longer than usual, twisting Peter's encouragement for women to fearlessly take responsibility for their own spiritual growth, ethics, and virtues in difficult (and non-consensual) family contexts... twisting it as if the difficulties were the virtues and the context didn't matter. (For Lori, context never matters!)

I’ve been reading The Making of Biblical Womanhood by Beth Allison Barr, who has a PhD in medieval history and is an expert on women and religion in medieval and early modern England. She is a former member of the Southern Baptist Convention, whose husband was ejected from his youth ministry position for being “too liberal.” Her book eviscerates the concept of “Christian patriarchy” as being antithetical to the teachings of the New Testament. She views it through a Christian lens, with the opinion that patriarchy is the result of human sin and greed.

I recommended this book twice earlier in this thread as well as sharing that Lori is mentioned.

This story just kills me. If it happened--IF!--I can't believe a professor would just say, 'write a paper on gay sex in bathrooms.' It had to be something else, and Lori twisted it into that. And if Ken called the professor, I'll eat some of Lori's slime salad. Just another example of how Lori turns anything and everything into fuel to feed the fire of her wacky agenda.?

I don't believe for one second that happened.  There.wouid be no point to that assignment.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I was looking at Lori's insta. You know how people have stories on different topics below their bio? Generally they are things like "Family," "Kids," "Our vacation."

Lori has a story called "Masturbation"!!

Good job, godly woman!

It looks like the mother of the baby who Alyssa and her husband had been planning to adopt this month chose to parent her baby.

sorry about the spoilers.

I am indeed deeply saddened for Alyssa and Jon. From personal experience many years ago for my husband and me and friends, as well as experiences family and friends have had recently, I will say the road to adoption is a most often a very bumpy one. That is why I cringed to see her being so confident that this adoption would occur. I also feel that the healthiest route for their son would be for Alyssa and Jon to be quiet about any further forays into adoption until they get the call that the child is born and parental rights are terminated. A nursery can be set up in a day or two, if necessary. (I speak from experience on that one.)

After going through two failed infant  adoptions, it took 10 more years before we had the strength to try again. The second was particularly devastating because the baby actually left the hospital and went to foster care until the court hearing. She picked the baby back up an hour before  the hearing.

We didn't trust any birthmother would folliow through, so we decided to do a foster adoption for a 2 and 3year old brother and sister.

Even though we finally had a successful adoption, I still hurt when I think about those babies. I remember their birthdays and wonder how they are. They are 24 and 25 now.

This is gonna sound heartless I know, but I’m really not surprised this happened. In fact, I was kinda excepting it. And I actually think it’s Loris fault. I really wouldn't be surprised if the expected mother found Lori and changed her mind about Jon and Alyssa.

also Alyssa just acted like she was supposed to be handed a baby.

my heart hurts for Alyssa on a human level, but I can’t say I’m sad this child isn’t growing up around Lori.

That thought crossed my mind too. Did this young lady find out about Lori?

I'm not sure though because in our adoption attempts we only used first names and did not mention towns. Maybe this was to be an open adoption?  Either way, that child is better off without having Lori for a grandma.

Alyssa mentioned she was hoping for an open adoption.

also this isn’t provable but based on who she has followed and posted I’m nearly certain this baby is a person of color and Lori has been extremely racist lately. So I really honestly wouldn’t be shocked if the mother found Lori.  It’s not hard to make the connection they aren’t hiding it.

I also really can’t get passed how entitled she was about this whole thing. I have never adopted, know little about it so again, not trying to sound heartless, but it really seemed like she just expected to be handed a baby. The whole thing just reeked of white savior complex.
nothing should be made public til rights are terminated. No one is entitled to another women’s baby.

He is. Alyssa said so.

I had the same feeling. She hasn't been sympathetic at all. Before she met any bio mom, she was praying for a unwanted pregnancy to happen, so she could have a baby. Sorry???? I was infuriated. It is not "I want a baby, someone makes me a baby". It' s like she didn't care about the suffering of a woman who cannot afford/care for her own baby. Alyssa already had Gideon, but didn't seem to understand that bio moms who give their babies suffer!

I'm relieved the baby is not with them. Lori is not only violent and racist, but also is losing her mind. What a babysitter! And Alyssa looks lovely but trained Gideon since day 1. They have money but they are not exactly a great family.

I can’t explain why, really, but I also had my doubts that this adoption would happen.

I know we live in a social media world but it always seems odd to me when people take tragic moments in their lives and make productions of them for Instagram or Facebook.  And, they often do it very quickly. I guess Alyssa’s video might have been a way for her to channel her grief; so, I feel like I should keep that in mind.
