Here's one that was just posted.

I'm shocked that she didn't go for any lace. But at least it fits her well and isn't a "modest monstrosity"!

He looks like her father.

Very Ice Princess looking. I want to see professional pics before I pass to Much judgement. She looks washed out and tired here. So not doing her justice.

She said they were not courting, just friends. I think she wanted to expose the fact he is a hypocrite who kissed before marriage and even girls he was not even dating. But it also feels like some jealousy on her part that her sister is getting so much attention. Specially stirring it up again on the wedding day.

So they kissed? Has anyone got a pic of Leah? Is she fundie looking

I like the dress. I would absolutely love if the fabric wasn't shiny. The tiara is too much. She looks great, though.

The groom's flying show was so tacky! It's a good idea for a big bachelor party, but not for a wedding. It centers the attention on the groom&friends, while the focus should be in the 2 people who are marrying.

Leah is either very immature or bitchy. She wasn't courting Nathan. I'm sorry she was hurt, but publicy showing her jealousy is not going to heal her and can be very uncomfortable for her husband.

Groomsmen - Lawson, Trace, and Andrew Patton were all in skydiving-esque pics today or yesterday. I think Zach as well, based on the fact that the sisters' insta stories show Whitney with just the kids. Probably John Duggar. And one other person?

Bridesmaids - Esther's older sister Elizabeth, probably one of her younger sisters, she mentioned a cousin (I'd guess the non-blonde non-Keyes white girl in the pre-wedding instagram videos lol), her brother's gf Gracie, her SIL Madison, and Tiffany? maybe?

It looks like Lexi and Brooklyn were flower girls, per Alyssa's and Erin's IG. Maybe Kaci too, she's that age? Also one of Esther's nieces, per her brother's IG.

Katie was also walking to the wedding alone (with Trace and Whitney) so maybe Travis?

Or are they not allowed to sit together at a wedding before marriage?

I think it’s kinda strange to pretend to be royalty on your wedding day, but it’s a free country (as much as they want to make it not one). The bride and groom both look more formal than we see at most fundie weddings, and that makes the contrast with guests who are dressed for a neighborhood potluck even stronger.

Skydiving into a ceremony that allows you to have sex for the first time is peak fundie male.

You actually can see her in Esther instagram, she posted a picture hanging out with her sisters including Leah a few months ago:

She is the one in the black flower dress. This makes it more baffling to me because at that time Esther was already courting Nathan.

I wore a tiara (although more of an embellished headband) because I wantedthe princess look and it led to one of my favorite stories from our wedding. A few weeks before our wedding, we went to a family wedding and my niece was disappointed the bride didn't have a tiara and demanded to know if I would be wearing one, I said yes and then she immediately asked if she could have it after the wedding 🤣. So at the reception, after pictures were done, I took off my veil and tiara and gave her the tiara and she wore it the rest of the night.

So many questions:

what is a bridegroom? How is he different from…. let’s say a groom? Is it normal to be confused about who the groom is? I would have interpreted it as a same sex wedding where the role of the “groom” is filled by a second bride or so.

Did they really skydive or just jumped with a chute? Isn’t skydiving from really really high up to stay in the air as long as possible and also going without a chute as long as possible- like cutting it really close?

Why looked her dress so nice in the first picture we saw, but really cheap in the others? I don’t even mind the tiara so much even though it’s really not my thing. The size is ok and it sits well placed. But the shiny fabric and the placement of the ruffles as well as the very sculptured looking bodice it looks like a cheap copy of an elegant beautiful dress.

I think it’s a Mizz Renee creation. The skirt looks like the one on Kendra’s dress. I like the silhouette but am surprised not to see any lace. It’s not what I thought she would choose.

I don’t mind small tiaras or embellished head bands. They are often pretty. But a full on crown that looks like it came from Queen Elizabeth’s Crown Jewels? That’s too much for my taste.

Groom is just the short form of Bridegroom……. the shortened form is much more common now, but I don’t think Bridegroom is that unusual, is it?

If they are jumping out of a plane I think it’s called “skydiving” regardless of length of the jump — and hopefully involves a chute, or it would be a very different TikTok for sure lol

I like her dress and the tiara, but - personally- something that fitted with long sleeves would be too constraining, and make me claustrophobic, especially with all the food and moving around all night. And the pure white with no decoration at all would make any stray hair or fuzz stand out, but that’s just me.

My friend wore a little tiara for her wedding. I asked her if she was trying to be a character from the tv show The Big Bang Theory she was. The show was where she got the idea to wear one.

From the article: "Keyes stunned during her own entrance in a horse-drawn carriage." "They walked down the aisle carrying parasols and glass boxes with flower petals." "Bates and Keyes ended the event by taking off in a helicopter."

I think it might be a bit too much for my taste 😆

This is one of things that I never get. The guests, unless they are part of the wedding party, make so little effort. I guess there’s so many weddings and if you’re not in the photos it doesn’t seem important.

I am the most informal person usually - live in jeans and sweaters, but I love dressing up for a wedding!

Thanks for the explanation! That makes much more sense.

Well, the chute should definitely be obligatory. Maybe it has to do with language barrier. We use skydiving specifically for people that try to be without the chute as long as possible. Otherwise we call it “chute jumping” (sounds weird translated).

I do like the idea of the dress. It’s just looks like a cheap copy. And I think the tiara is big but kind of fits the outfit. In the end, tiara is tiara no matter if it is a big or a small one. If you think you need one your head, go for it.
I do agree with others though that the couples outfit really clashed with the venue/vibe of the wedding. Especially Nathan’s black three piece. You don’t really see grooms in black for boho/laid back/country weddings but more in the very formal ones.

Especially as the women and some men must own some old bridesmaids/ groomsmen attire. Almost all grown up Bates boys own at least one all right fitting blue suit. The married ones should have one too. So why not put that on? Or borrow if you don’t own one? Maybe if you skip the gift grabbing paloozza before the real wedding you could afford one fitting item then you can rewear for the next ten weddings (which is probably like one year?).

I hope the sister shares why she didn’t attend.

The Bates truly are over the top about everything. I hope Nathan treats her with respect, but he seems like he is the biggest asshole of the Bates bunch.
