Jen Psaki: Daily Briefings Are Back

With the way she is deftly handling the press on a daily basis, Jen deserves her own thread.
Here she is competently pointing out the false implications a Faux reporter attempted to make.

It's so obvious that Faux isn't used to intelligence in the White House.

  • Coconut Flan changed the title to Jen Psaki: Daily Briefings Are Back

I'm starting to wonder if right-wing "journalists" are masochists.  They ask silly "gotcha" questions and are promptly torched, I mean incinerated, by Psaki.

Jen Psaki Perfectly Shuts Down Reporter Who Asked if WH Would Change Its 'Tone' on Voting Rights

The article first frames the subtext of the reporter's question...

Quote

Tone policing is an ad hominem, anti-debate tactic used to derail discussions of substantive issues by focusing on the tone of the other party.

...and then goes on to summarize the interaction:

Quote

But when Fox Business correspondent Edward Lawrence tried to use the ploy during a White House press briefing, Press Secretary Jen Psaki steered the discussion back to the issues.

After a lengthy list of the positive points—according to Lawrence—of the new Georgia voter suppression bill aimed at limiting the ability of people of color, poor and low income people to vote, he asked Psaki if the White House would be changing their "tone" going forward.

Press Secretary Psaki asked: "The tone for a bill that limits voting access and makes it more difficult for people to engage in voting, in Georgia?" ...Psaki made the administration of President Joe Biden plain when she stated: "If you are making it harder to vote, we do not support that."

i guess it's good that this thread isn't getting much traffic.

I never used to know what any of the previous press secretaries were saying in their daily press briefings. Except Trump's lying minions, as long as they held pressers.

that ********* evil twunt Kayleigh with her sleeveless dresses, little gold cross and white tabbed binder with canned talking points.  Twenty minutes and out she went.

and Sarah Huckabee Sanders with her repetitions of "I'll have to get back to you on that" and then she never did.

and Sean Spicer..."YES HE DID HAVE THE BIGGEST INAUGURATION CROWN, BECAUSE I SAID SO."

When do we see Jen Psaki dressed as bacon?

She's so good at this. Without being nasty and abrasive like her predecessors she handily gets the message across that he's making things up.

Yup, there was a sooty spot with some ashes left where Doocy once sat.

And yes, Colorado's voting laws are just like GA except...they're different in every way.  In Colorado, everybody gets a mail-in ballot...in the mail!  They just drop it off in a mail box to vote!  And people can register to vote and vote on voting day!

I was a poll watcher for the Democratic Party in 2018. I had to go to a two hour class to get trained. I was astonished by how easy it is to vote in Colorado, and I had lived here for over two decades.

Somebody needs to print up a lot of stickers that she can hand out.  They should say, "You just got your ass handed to you by JEN PSAKI.  You're welcome."

How dare he try to use guilt about the high number of deaths to insult the Biden administration. Did he ask any questions like that about the Former Guy?

My question is rhetorical, of course.

Yes, it's oral thrush!  Treating it with miconazole gel 4 times a day.  Whoever decided to flavour it chocolate orange is a flipping genius!
Also needing 1 litre of electrolyte solution per day because my steroid load is killing my levels.  Tomorrow's the last day of prednisolone, thank goodness.  Fingers crossed it's done the job, because I'm still having the occasional wobble with breathing.
I see the practice nurse on Monday.

I'm not able to update the logos to the fall ones today -- there's a bug that is solved in a recent update version to fix it, but I don't have the time to do that until next week. Until then, we are still living in an endless summer friends!

Second Covid vax is currently kicking my butt. Fever, chills, body aches, exhaustion, etc.
Miserable, but so so grateful to be vaccinated. Sure as hell beats actual Covid.

Started prednisolone tablets today because the asthma inhaler isn't enough. Now I have a sore throat and feel like I have a cold coming.  Need the tablets because breathing isn't an optional body function.  Really don't need the tablets if I have an infection brewing.

My husband commented this morning about how nice the weather is after a cold front moved in last night. Before I could stop him, he asked out loud if I thought this meant an early fall for us.
That's like when you live up north and start talking about an early spring...
Be careful, the weather gods are always listening.

Grew up fundie-adjacent. My mother called herself a recovering fu**tamendalist, & she was not given to swearing. Thankfully she raised me as free of religious weirdness as she was capable. Her mother is all the regressive things -- racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, anti-semitic, ableist, fundamentalist Protestant nonsense, all of it, & longing for a golden past that never existed.
I'm an atheist with a bit of an obsession about fundies, particularly of the Christian varieties cuz that's what I'm surrounded by. I've been reading this forum for well over a decade now & finally decided to make an account.
      Thanks for having me here.
